In a recent interview, EA Chief Operating Officer Peter Moore explained why his company prefers focusing on titles for smartphones and tablets, rather than the Nintendo 3DS or the PlayStation Vita. According to Moore, the future of handhelds is vague and focusing on smartphones and tablets will provide more favorable results in the long run for the company. This is the same reason why EA no longer produces Wii U games as well. We were supportive of both of those platforms. But then you’ve got finite resources and you’ve got teams that say, ‘We really think that two or three years from now, these are the platforms that people are going to be consuming games on.’ And you look at the quality of what you can do on phones and tablets… Sometimes strategy is not about what you do but what you don’t do, and you have to make some hard calls when you’ve got only so many people. To my point, we’ve got to be planning for FY 17 and 18. Do you think the Vita and 3DS are going to be around in some shape or fashion by then on a scale level? According to this logic, Electronic Arts doesn’t see the benefit in developing games for the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, or the Wii U, since it doesn’t think there’s a future in any of these devices. It’s clear EA has bet hard on the console war between Xbox and PlayStation, while focusing their casual gaming efforts on pleasing smartphone gamers, with great games such as Dungeon Keeper for smartphone. Yeah, EA, keep chasing whales who have more money than sense. Meanwhile people who enjoy games will do so without your aggressive monetary-driven tactics. Nero Actually i’m thankfull that they didn’t bring any of those horrible portable games to the 3ds. matthew garcia Be nice to have the sport games for more added variety though. James060394 EA…nuff said. Their products are broken, rushed terrible ports anyway. Back in 2005 or so, EA games were worth their merit but now, I could care less. Christian Schoff EA hate Nintendo. I don’t know why they don’t just come out and say it. The 3DS has been the most profitable device in years. They tried to get Nintendo to use Origin as the online infrastructure on the Wii U. Nintendo said no thanks so they cut all ties with Nintendo. matthew garcia Actually mobile devices are more profitable then 3ds. I definitely prefer 3ds but ea is making good money off of mobile games. There gonna go where the money is. It’s not a hate thing it’s just ea products just don’t sale on Nintendo. Notice how they also said there not supporting vita neither. Christian Schoff The Vita isn’t being supported probably because even Sony seems to have given up on it. You don’t think it’s at all fishy that EA said they had an unprecedented partnership with Nintendo for Wii U and then suddenly they flip flop and completely reject them? matthew garcia They flip flopped cuz nothing sales on Wii u but Mario. It cost them more to develop the game for Wii u then the profit they would make off the sales. Same with the other 3rd parties as well. It’s not just ea. I’m sure Nintendo has some fault in this also TheRealTruthTeller its like saying that its their fault that Mario games are profitable amirite?, lol nope, i bought the wii u for first party games, and i have my trusty pc for third parties, there are some good third parties that are going to be released, like Devils Third and Bayonetta, and im surely going to buy them, but wheres nintendo fault in all of this?, releasing a game on pc makes it easier to pirate and companies lose half the income in that, yet nobody complains matthew garcia What makes u think a lot of people wanna buy multiple consoles. If Nintendo had great 3rd party people wouldn’t have to buy another console and Nintendo would be killing it. Also u don’t know what kind of business goes on behind closed doors and I’m sure Nintendo has assholes like every other company. So I’m sure there at some fault also TheRealTruthTeller theres allways some asshole behind scenes doing shit nobody likes just to get the monies/profit, in comparision to EA, EA has a lot of assholes and in fact, an asshole is the CEO El Ortega I think Nintendo’s fault is actually lack of marketing strategies for countries out of US and Japan, while Sony and Microsoft succeded on selling the idea that Nintendo games were childish. EA thinks that trends (Tablets and phones) are easy money, but trends disappear as fast as they pop up, while companies like Nintendo will always be there. Joseph Oliveira How is mobile devices more profitable? You’re spending a cell phone 650 every 2 years. A 3DS can last a lot longer (had mine since it came out) and paid, 250…. matthew garcia People don’t pay 600 dollars for cell phones. I got my HTC one m8 for 150 with a new upgrade shadus Mobile is a very dangerous market. True development cost are low but you cant sell your games for higher prices also you have to deal with the cluttered mess that is the app and google play stores so marketing your app is key which means more costs. Then eventually you turn out a product like dungeon keeper which completely ruins your credibility as a developer setting your bar for your next mobile development much higher. Trying to program for mobile is like investing in penny stocks, Sure there are success stories like Candy Crush, Flappy Bird and Angry Birds but most of the games fade into unknown obscurity never making their money back. kentray1985 That may be partly true but I disagree that they cut all ties with them because of them saying no to origin. Nintendo fans didnt get a wiiu nor bought any of their games at launch. They tried to support the wiiu but nobody bought it or care for their games so why is Nintendo fans mad at EA. Nintendo dont have a online infrastructure period. Nintendo focusing too much on single and local multiplayer games. You start to wonder why is there a friendlist if Nintendo dont wont to support online co-op. Mk8 and cod is cool but I wouldve enjoyed playing some online co-op with mario 3d world and donkey kong tropical freeze. Online co-op wouldve also been perfect for zombiu and super mario u. Its just my opinion so hope I didnt offend anyone! Yen By that, wouldn’t the real market be PC games? Most people have PCs of some kind, if you really want to reach a large market wouldn’t it make sense to ignore consoles and develop better games on PC? MHeinz That would make too much sense Jeff Jackson Not really the way I see it most people that do own computers(not PC gamers) don’t know what to download need to worry about space and they need to sit there. While mobile games almost everybody in the world has one and its way more portable. Still don’t like EA though. Yen I was talking about PC games be a better market compared to home consoles not handhelds. Basically instead of having home consoles and handheld consoles, they would just make games for Computers and Mobile devices instead. Computers now days have more than enough memory to download a few games. Also that argument doesn’t work because even the consoles are starting to do downloaded games now so it’d be the same. Most people have computers just like how they have mobile devices. Peter Lythaby Last paragraph. Well said Ashley William Maybe it’s just because I hate smart phones, but I will never understand why anyone thinks smart phones are the future of gaming. I will never enjoy a shallow game with horrible controls and I don’t personally know a single person over the age of 8 who uses a smart phone or tablet for gaming. If developers want to start throwing out Flappy Bird remakes to the masses rather than make a game with a deep story, lovable characters, and an interesting world, then video games are dead. Christian Schoff I like a few mobile. Like, literally, just a few. Angry birds which requires stategizing, Sonic Run, and tower defense. matthew garcia Honestly not very many Nintendo games have deep storylines neither. Unless you consider saving the princess a 1000 times a deep storyline. Yen Have you played the Paper Mario games? Or the Mario & Luigi RPGs? Way more than just saving the princess, try them out if you haven’t. Cept Sticker Star, don’t start with Sticker Star. matthew garcia Nah when I mean deep storylines I think of zelda, final fantasy, metroid , the last of us, gta Mr Ninty the story of paper mario the thousand years door is way way better then all the GTA games combined matthew garcia I love the gameplay but I definitely wouldn’t say it’s storyline is that great. It’s like reading a children’s book that has no sense of drama or anger. I’ll play that game cuz it’s fun not for the story. If I want to be captivated by a storyline I’ll play other games Ducked GTA storyline is awful matthew garcia I like it. I love mobster movies like the god father and goodfellas and gangster movies like boys in the hood so gta games fit right in with me. Daniel Gonzalez GTA is over the top and insane. It’s awesome. To each their own there. If you don’t like the storyline, how about the gameplay? Ducked I do like the gameplay in playing sand box mode. There’s lots to do, but I just get bored of it quickly. I’ve always seen it overrated because it seems like no one dislikes it. Daniel Gonzalez Well, no one dislikes it, because they love it. Lol. Of course there’s people who hate it too. No doubts there. If we want to talk about overrated…..look no further at CoD. I give Rockstar credit for not releasing a new GTA yearly and for taking their time polishing their games. jjbredesen Rockstar is one of the better devs out there today no question about it! To those of you that think GTA:SA is just about a bunch of gangsters shooting each other actually play the game. its way deeper than that. GTA: VC also has a really good story, and GTA V is hilarious! Cdwoods Gotta agree here, i d like GTA5. Though i did get bored of it at first until i got into it… Ducked I give props to Rockstar as well for taking 4-5 years to release a new GTA. I’d definitely take it over CoD, I’m just not crazy about the franchise. Yen Well 2 of those are Nintendo games, so there are enough that have deep storylines, and still some that don’t for casual gameplay. Don’t see why it’s a bad thing to save the princess 1000 times in that sense. Shota Lol super paper mario had one complex storyline. XD brandon I really liked the Paper Mario games. Hikingguy I think most (not all) video games are shallow but wide. But most mobile games are almost always more shallow than most and not very wide. There is a reason that people bounce from game to game on mobile devices. matthew garcia Most people who play Mobile games don’t take gaming seriously anyway. They probably have another main hobby Hikingguy That is very true. Mobile phone/tablet gamers look at .99 games as time wasters. Mobile games are all about the “hook”. What will hook the gamers to play and pay as much as possible. I mean what is .99 anyway, it is less than a can of pop. If you don’t like it just uninstall it anyway. Someday the cheap games might hurt the industry overall because people won’t want to pay for quality. And I am typically a cheap guy, but sometimes you get what you pay for. DragonSilths Metroid kinda does…Zelda has a great timeline and story line. FutureFox They’re simple narratives that get you to play and enjoy the game. I think having too deep of a story is a tactic used by devs to gloss over how uninteresting the gameplay actually is. Games today are becoming more video-interactive experiences. matthew garcia Nah people just say things Like that when they don’t like a certain genre. I love story driven games. I mean most people play rpgs for the story and deep strategy game play. Not cuz u can jump around like a monkey on a platform FutureFox Well you mentioned Nintendo games so I figured you wanted Nintendo games (Mario, Zelda, etc) to have deeper story lines. RPGs by nature have deeper story-lines so I don’t know why you thew that in as an example? My point was I don’t want games that are designed to be primarily gaming experiences to meander into deep-story driven territory because that detracts from the essence of the game in question. In short I don’t want fluff cut-scenes in my Mario game. Zelda has a few cutscenes to hightlight few epic moments. Its handled with care as to not overshadow or take up gameplay real-estate. I mean you see it now on youtube. People can make nearly 3 hour videos of a game’s cutscenes alone. That’s truly ridiculous. Metal Gear Solid 4 is the poster child example. Magnus Eriksson I think Mario could work good on a tablet device 🙂 matthew garcia The graphics would look better then 3ds jjbredesen Yup, but the gameplay would suck 😛 matthew garcia Not if u have a moga controller. I play gta San Andreas on my cell phone with one. Works pretty good jjbredesen Yeah i also play GTA: SA on my phone, but i am not going to buy a controller to play games on my phone, will wait for an actual gaming phone 😛 Jack5221 EA = Electronic Assholes. I stopped buying EA games a long time ago, and I haven’t regret it since. They have nothing worth playing. Sports games suck. Sim City and Battlefield used to be fun until EA f***** them up. And NO, Dungeon Keeper is not great. EA ruined that game too. The only way to progress in that game is through Micro-transactions. And now EA is in charge of the next Starwars Battlefront… They’re going to ruin that game too. So many great games ruined by EA. Voted worst company in America 2 years in a row for a reason. Even if they did support Nintendo Platforms, I wouldn’t buy their garbage, incomplete 90% DLC games. Jeff Jackson Where were they voted worst American company can you give me a link? John Aguilera Let’s go T.P. their facilities! Who’s with me? CydeFxt I’ll get the eggs. Anything else? jjbredesen Blue shells? GermGerm Except blue shells are for people in first place 😉 They need a shell for people who are in last place, or, who have been voted worst company how many years now? jjbredesen Only 2, they came 2. last year. Murilo Correia I would buy FIFA on wii u .. but that does not make me want to buy another platform. I’ll stick with my Wii .. if they do not want to make games for the Wii U all right, They will sell less jjbredesen Bullshit, right now Wii U has more units on the market than Xbox, and is still outselling it, not sure about last week, but the weeks before it did, but using Vgchartz is not really that reliable. EA is EA and has always been EA, they steal your money and there is a reason i don’t buy EA games anymore, they are ripoffs, there is no effort put in to them, the publisher just forces its devs to make a game as quick as possible, so they can make more money. The only game I will buy from them is Mass Effect 4, and its sequels, but that will be it, no DLC or season passes, only the game. Just look at how many games they have ruined! There servers also suck, buy a game and the online will be gone after 3-4 years! Mass Effect 3 had content already on the CD, but you had to pay to unlock it, they lie to us all the time. Battlefield 4 was the beta of Battlefield Hardline! Thats right you paid $60+premium+extra content etc. for a game in beta! and it never worked, my advice to all of you is to simply not buy there games, even on your Xbox and Playstation. Don’t buy there games, i want them to fail and the deserve it, when they start doing business properly then buy there games, but right now they don’t deserve shit! And they also support mobile over actual gaming devices so that says a little about how much they actually care about quality. Good day mr. Moore! Hikingguy There was a time when EA was good, but you have to look way back to the late 80’s early 90’s. I did like Starflight and Powermonger and NHL 94, but there was time, around the mid 90’s, when EA started to head south and they have never really looked back. EA abandoned the two console brands that I liked, Nintendo and Sega (Dreamcast). So my taste for EA games as grown sour since the mid to late 90’s. I have not bought a full priced EA game since Powermonger on the Sega CD. I might have picked up one or two used. But nothing that EA has put out in the past 15 years has really grabbed me. Most mobile games are just so shallow. And that is the reason I bounce from game to game so much. Lately I hardly every use my tablets or phone for games anymore. For that matter, I hardly ever use them at all anymore. Even my kids are getting tired of them. They really only use it for Minecraft, but even that has slowed with the PS3 getting Minecraft. I really just hope that Nintendo gets Minecraft soon so I can get my kids playing that game on the Wii U! jjbredesen I was not around during the good days of EA so i can’t comment, but they sure have continued to get worse and worse over the years. I bought Mass Effect 1 and 2 on steam for sale in 2012, because people said they where good and i was impressed, but i have not yet bought Mass Effect 3 because it is only on Origin, and I will never use it! Can’t believe they are trying to compete with steam! So from now on i will absolutely not buy shit from them, ever. Minecraft is best on PC so if you can buy it for PC, but the gamepad would be really handy for inventory management etc. Hikingguy As long as they have the legions of people who buy Madden or NHL or FIFA without even a thought, EA will be around. But at some point I believe the bridges will be burned and will take a lot to rebuild. If I was Nintendo I would not be so quick to take them back with things look good and EA wants back into the game. 2K and Sony have already shown that other companies can make superior games. the NFL just needs to get out of that contract and see what a company with passion can do with the NFL brand (just to name one) P.S. I am not good a Football games so I really don’t care. jjbredesen Yeah, i really could not care less about FIFA etc. myself, it is sort of the bad side of gaming, i have little respect for the “”””gamers”””” that buy games like that every year :/ Daniel Carvalho Same here. I always see people complaining about CoD, Battlefield, Madden, FIFA and others being the same game, yet they never fail to buy those titles brand new on launch every year! Those “gamers” always say they get those games because they want the developers to make something different, yet they fail to realize that for as long as those games sell, they are not going to do anything about it! If you want a company to change, stop giving your money to it! Just look at Nintendo: they were not selling any Wii U. What did they do? They changed their ways: they started making more games, improvising the operational system and so on. What does EA do when they see people complaining about their games but keep giving them money? Keep doing their worst! Any gamer knows that, but the “gamers” will keep getting their broken titles… it’s really pathetic… Hikingguy People are lemmings. Honestly though, most people could care less even if EA use slave labor, they just want their games released. They just think, well if EA is not on Nintendo then I am not buying that system. Pure and simple. Most people don’t care as long as they get what they want. FutureFox It is quite telling. I think the last EA game I ever played was Madden(?) on PSOne. Hikingguy Yes it is. I did pick up a used copy of Madden for the Wii U for $4 bucks so I could play with my brother on line (my first Madden game since Madden 95). But after playing it a few times, I find I have more FUN playing NFL 2K games on my Dreamcast. Even though I lose, I still have fun with the 2K games. I am not good at football games, but there is just something that lacks in the fun category for me when I play madden games. I’m glad I only paid $4. Stephen Dorn I liked the early harry potter games Gamer Mania EA just want to die. They are begging for a sweet release seeing how many of their devs are wanting to leave EA. Expect them to die by the end of the Next Generation when Nintendo announces a console so affordable and powerful that not even the PS5/iBox (Yes… I believe Apple will buy out the Xbox Brand) could stand up to it. jjbredesen Apple, buy a microsoft product?? I can’t see that happening, and i sure hope it does not happen! They will ruin it, it will become even more overpriced and the system would become even more closed, Apple will be the downfall of xbox if they bought it. Sadly EA have enough money to last longer than just to the end of this gen, at this rate they will be able to survive the whole of next gen, and the gen after that without problem :/ Rinslowe Apple wouldn’t know what to do with the Xbox brand. For all the things I believe they do right. This is one thing I think they would be certain to F it up. jjbredesen Yup, but i must ask, what on earth does Apple do right?? Rinslowe Tightly executed software that works exactly as it is designed. It’s not more or less than it looks. And it covers all the basic functions and features of a touch device smoothly and reliably. Quality industrial design. jjbredesen Yeah it does all the basic stuff fine, but on a more advance level it does not, when compared to Android it looks like DOS VS Windows or Linux, DOS does all the basic stuff well but thats it. People jailbrake there IOS device to do what android already can do, but i do agree that Iphones are fine for the casual consumer, however i am not, so for me there price is far from justified. Galaxy SII (2011) has almost identical specs to Iphone 5S, just that that 5S has 1Mhz faster processor, and a smaller battery. But lets not start this debate as it will not end well 😛 Iphones are fast and stable and gets the job done, but for someone looking for more its a meh. Rinslowe To be honest. I’m not your casual user either. And for what it is I think IOS just works. It’s like if you drive a truck all day, you’re most likely to drive an automatic everywhere else… I prefer Windows Phone myself. Just to be different mostly. Lol. jjbredesen Android user here, more of an advance one, root all of my devices, customize roms etc. ではない私の名前 これは Ubuntu phones been fun to play with. i enjoyed the simplicity of windows phone too but got bored of its limitations fast. a rooted android has alot of potential and has been my go to OS for years. Apple and Xbox together would be all Sony needed to win over most western gamers imo. jjbredesen Run Ubuntu on my PC at times, right now i use Kali-Linux for obvious reasons (see my avatar) but i have been thinking of installing Ubuntu on my phone. Android sure is the best to play around with! Especially when the community is so talented, and there are so many fantastic roms and mods. Right now i am a bit on the mainstream side using Cyanogenmod 10 with some of my own smaller modifications as i prefer the look of aosp. Joey Hurwitz have used all kinds of phones from iphones to android, etc i find Android to be horrible ONLY phones i have used that shut itself off automatically Apple in my opinion has the best eco-system out there from software,AppStore to phone nothing EVEN comes close plus if your a Mac user Android sucks with syncing all your stuff Iphone you go home plug it in and in less then 5 mins everything is done with Android it could take HOURS I know i will get hate from Android users but the facts are ios runs better is more smooth of a software i dont have to turn features off on my iphone to save battery like Android users have to do Iphones just work and do what the user wants it to do im glad Android is around though to push Apple its good for all us customers we all win jjbredesen I know from experience that this sort of debate always ends the same way, so il just say this: I agree that IOS runs good, but that is because of how few futures it has, Android has so many extra things that it is obvious that it will eat battery, IOS would run fantastic on a android device, but Android would run horrible on a IOS device because of how weak they are, and the IOS device would run out of battery a lot faster. Its like comparing DOS to Windows, DOS does of course run faster because it is more simple. Also highly depends on what device you have bought, there is a huge difference between a high and low end android device. But i know that we have different outlooks on what is a good device, and respect your opinion, so lets just say that we agree to not agree 😛 But i do agree that it is good to have both around to keep the competition and quality up 🙂 Hikingguy It is really down to more closed source (apple) to more open source (Android). You either like what apple give you or you go to android. jjbredesen Yup, that is why i stick with Android, as i like to have the freedom to do whatever i want, vs only being able to do what apple wants me to do. With Android there is virtually nothing you can’t do when it comes to customizing and writing your own stuff etc. 2op4u You probably had one of the crappy, bloatware full android phone. Some Android Phone sucks but most high ends (same level or higher level than the latest iPhone) are awesome.. especially the pure vanilla android phones like nexus 5 and the others. readypembroke I actually own a Nexus 5 and it is AWESOME!!!!!! No complaints here besides Chrome crashing when I try to open a recent link but that is Chrome and not the phone. The speakers could be a bit better. Battery is not bad for an Android. The cheapo Android phones tend to restart themselves. Mine old junk phone and some classmates phones does that also. Rinslowe I enjoyed the N9… jjbredesen Never tried MeeGo, but i have heard it is decent and since it is based of Linux there should be a lot of possibility 🙂 Rinslowe Yep. It has a pretty decent community as well. Low key… jjbredesen Cool, perhaps I will attempt to install it on my Galaxy SII, not upgraded since i bought it in early 2012, as it still has great specs and a decent screen etc. and runs everything that i have tried so far 🙂 GTA: SA runs without lag on max settings, so i have had no need to upgrade, the camera is fine to, so really no point. Also overclocked the CPU so it will last even longer. Perhaps i will upgrade around next years high end releases. Fantastic phone, and really shows that Samsung can make fantastic stuff for a good price, i hate the touchwiz interface though so got rid of it after 2 months xD Rinslowe Cool. I’m not really a fan of the Samsung industrial design philosophy. Which is one of the reasons why the N9 was so attractive to me. It is still a sexy looking handset and of course based on Maemo/ Linux. Got Android – Meego on dual boot. As well as a ton of other stuff. jjbredesen Awesome, yeah i am not much of a fan of Samsungs design either, but the phones themselves are fantastic or at least the S phones and the note phones are also great 🙂 Looking at installing Meego right now, so should be ready to go soon 🙂 Rinslowe You may have a problem with the N9’s Meego/ Harmattan, as it is still closed source. And really the soul of the N9 experience. If you can make that work you got skills son. But pure open source “Meego” (nemo) is a different story, has been ported before. But never with decent results… jjbredesen Well i have got stuff to work before, but not a closed soruce OS… well i have access to everything i need on my SII, open boatloader root access etc. so i will give it a try, but i don’t think i will be able xD Still no harm in trying, w Rinslowe “nemo” you’ll get it running… jjbredesen It is my life mission to get it running! I will not give up, until i die! Mr. J Woah…..guys…what’s wrong with Apple? There pretty great in my opinion. Rinslowe Whoa… Mr J… I agree. Just not unanimously. 🙂 Dark Link I worked for apple customer service for 2 years, and I can tell you through personal experience, their software is almost always the problem. Why do you think they keep coming up with updates? Rinslowe That’s a cool story. And if that is the case I take my hat off to them even more-so. Although I personally prefer Windows Phone for my everyday. I’ve owned almost every Iphone since the original except the 5C. So as a guy who likes to swap his daily devices on occasion. Bear in mind I own 3 ipads. Gen 1, mini and a Gen 3. I have never had an issue with the software. Neither has the majority – easily 80% of my colleagues and friends – had any notable issues or breakdowns with their devices due to software. Not once that I can remember. So they’re doing something right for my end… I’m sure they do have their problems. But it’s still the most reliable and stable OS in the business, imo. Dark Link You never had an issue? So you never had to restore your iphone/ipad through iTunes or erase all content and settings? Damn… I’m almost speechless… Rinslowe To be completely honest. I’ve never had to fully restore my phone ever or Ipads… Or erase all content and settings. My office manager who swears by Apple has always set them up. Then I just use them when I feel like it. Sync. Update. Never any notable issues. Yeah seriously. Rinslowe Hey on a side note. Seeing as though there has been a no’ of cases where you’ve had to re-install the OS for people and restore content and settings etc… Would you happen to have any stats from your old job? Would be interesting to see their ratios on that one. For curiosities sake only of course. 🙂 Hikingguy I have yet to figure that out. Wait….I did like my Apple IIGS. It was fun to play Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, Oregon Trail, and Airheart. But what they have done since 1986, I am not sure. Hikingguy If any company could bring it to a new low, Apple just might be the one. FutureFox At this point nobody knows what to do with the Xbox brand including Microsoft. Nicolas Dorion Apple is a great company… but buying the xbox brand would be a stupid move. I’m not saying Apple ins’t a good company, they do dominate the portable gaming market. If apple ever wants to make a home gaming console, they would most likely just implement their App store to the apple TV, like they did with the Ipad when it came out. Xbox stands for everything that apple hates. If they want to make a home-console, they are big enough to do it. Dominicruz but the wii has years and the xbox 1 almost a year and the x1 is going to sell more the wii u it make sense jjbredesen We so not know that x1 will sell more 😛 so it does not make sense, but who really cares if we don’t get EA games, they all suck 😛 Arthur Jarret Unfortunately, not all of them are bad. Especially now EA has the Star Wars license… Visceral, Dice and Criterion make awesome games – and once every three games they actually get the budget & time to utilize their talent. jjbredesen That is true, they do have good devs, but the publisher normally ruins it, but they do some times allow some good games to be made. Ice Climbers Disney trumps EA in this case. They aren’t afraid to put EA in their place. jjbredesen Thats great to hear, as it could mean there is hope for battlefront! blindtiger i hate when people say the wii u has been out for “years” and the xbox1 “not even a year.” i read it in an article not too long ago and its completely misleading. xbox1 has been out for 1 single year less than wii u. it still hasnt caught up with sales and i dont think it ever will… MetroidZero Wish I could say no DLC, but Mass Effect 3’s DLC, like From the Ashes, was vital to understanding the story of the Protheans. Oh well. jjbredesen So true, and it was actually already on the disc! Really bad of them to do that! Thomas Stevenson i agree but its kind of hard not to buy madden when its the only nfl game availavle…when is that 20 year exclusive deal over?… Magnus Eriksson Lol, I think this is great news. Get EA out of the console business alltogether and let others take their place. They can make games for tablet and phones, I dont care. jjbredesen When you put it that way i completely agree, but they own so much, if they left what would happen to Mass Effect and Battlefront if they did? They would all end up on mobile, and that is even worse, so i am not so sure, would be better if they just go bankrupt so proper devs can get there hands on the great franchises they have ruined! Magnus Eriksson Mass effect and Battlefield would be replaced by other games in a minute 🙂 jjbredesen Battlefield i could not care less about 😛 I was talking about Battlefront the starwars game 😉 But yeah they would be replaced, although it would be a shame as Mass Effect is one of the best franchises i have ever played. Arthur Jarret Not to mention the franchise they are simply sitting on… like Legend of Kyrandia, Little big adventure and Magic carpet. Magic carpet would be amazing on Wii U with Gyro controls or Project Morpheus / Oculus with head-tracking. I spent so many hours shooting down Balloons, converting mana, attacking desert worms and blowing up other magicians castles to keep them respawning. Magnus Eriksson Legend of Kyrandia is a great franchise. Played it a lot as a youngster 🙂 jjbredesen Yup, so sad that they own so many great games, and keep ruining them all, but in one way its good that they have not made another one of those games as they would ruin them 😛 Dáibhí wotshissurname EA is a massive, smelly fart right now. Upuntil recently, I thought to myself that although their payment scemes may suck, their games are ok. For some parts of EA, this true (Bioware, Visceral etc.) but then I played FIFA 14. for PS3. Terrible graphics, with character models that barely resembled their real life conterparts, bumpy AI and a total lack of emotion inthe animations orfaces of players. In fact, to the point that I have noticed the Handheld Vita version excels its PS3 couterpart. Honestly, I’m more than disappointed. jjbredesen FIFA has never been worth the money, every year you just get the same game with slightly updated graphics and player stats, thats it. FIFA 14 looks better on PS4/X1/Wii U, but on last gen systems it looks shit, would highly recommend that you just don’t buy any EA games, and only buy a new FIFA every 5 years or so if you absolutely must, nothing much really ever changes. They do have some great devs such as Bioware yes, but there games are ruined by the publisher (EA) if EA sold there devs to another publisher the games would be way better. Michael Ocampo So… you are planning to purchase Mass Effect 4? You’re still giving them money… jjbredesen Il pirate it for PC 😛 Gam Oh…My…God…Don’t get me started with Need For Speed World. You’ve probably heard of it. Probably played it. I’m just gonna assume that you don’t know jack about this “Free-To-Play” game, and it’s summed up in that last Scumbag of EA. However, it wasn’t like that. I’ve played the beta and it was promising. As the game evolved, the visuals evolved for the good, and it was a great place to play in, something that is a potentially a good alternative to many “Free-To-Play” racing genres (and I do not see many F2P racing genres). And then…the downfall of it started with the chatbox. It was a regular chatbox, but this one is filled with anarchy. Spams are constantly filled everywhere, but they would die down time again. One day (in my experience), something fucked up. Administrator and advertising chats are colored in yellow. Well either a group or a person hacked the game, spamming the box with the yellow coloring. They give out “free” Speedboosts (harmless, but you recieve a notification). It died down again. Cut into 2012, the last year of me playing Need For Speed World. After I had grinded (countless and countless years to get a fucking car that I like, Nissan GTR, A.K.A not the “Spec-V” meaning that the one I got is crap in the game), I decided to check up. HOLY SHIT the place is filled with Brazilians, and HOLY SHIT did it become a Pay 2 Win. Why Brazilians? They notoriously hack the game just to win a fucking race. Customizing your car? Aside from the vinyls, rims, licence plates, and some “stock parts” offered in the shop you have to buy real money in order to get the ULTRA FUCKING ONES AND THE SWAG SHIT LIKE COP LIGHTS AND SOME VINYLS SERIES. My fucking god this may be the reason why we never get the good old days of EA. Why we never get our good share of Most Wanted and Carbon. BECAUSE OF THIS POTENTIAL RUINED BY THE GROUND. So yeah that’s my story of EA and ruining my favorite series Need for Speed. I’m pretty sure we’ll never get a Need For Speed game. EVER. jjbredesen Yup sounds just like what EA would do, sorry for your loss 🙁 EA has ruined so many games! That guy who hates Spike It’s kind of dumb to compare a console more aimed at families, that has a year in the market and compare it to a system, out in the market for 6 months and is greatly outpacing the sales. Not all of EA’s games are rip offs. As a matter of fact, among 11 of the Wii U’s highest rated titles, 2 of which are EA games (Need for Speed and Mass Effect). Games like Titanfall, Plants VS. Zombies 2, Plants VS. Zombies Garden Warfare, The Sims and plenty more are highly praised, have a great fanbase and do show their effort. How can Hardline be the full version of BF4 if it’s made by a different developer? That’s like saying New Super Mario Bros. 2 was a 4 month early $40 trial for New Super Mario Bros. U. It’s not. Speaking of which, you can consider THAT milking, considering Nintendo released a total of $145 worth of Super Mario Bros. content in the matter of less than a year! (New Super Mario Bros. 2 + DLC + New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U = $145 between August 2012 and July 2013). So don’t be talking as if EA are the only milkers of the industry. Your last comment is just ignorant. PC isn’t a dedicated gaming platform, and it gets the respect it deserves. It also has free-to-play flash games, but it doesn’t define the perceived quality of a general PC game, like how people think the mobile industry is filled with just a bunch of low quality cash-grabs. There are games like Republique, Device 6 amd Saturday Morning RPG, Modern Combat and more games worth your time than over half of the Wii U’s line of games. And with so many mobile titles moving to the Wii U and phones becoming much more powerful than the 3DS or efen the PS Vita, it only makes your last comment even more ironic and idiotic. Quicksilver88 Problem for EA is that PS/XB crowd lap up whatever they put out like starving dogs, while Nintendo gamer’s don’t. So even though WiiU has a respectable number of units out for a 18month old console, it doesn’t have enough consumers of shitty 3rd party games to be a target for EA. Looks like we will still get some support from Ubi (just released Child of Light and forthcoming WD) as well as Activision (Skylanders and COD) so at least that will give us a little something to keep us busy between Nintendo releases. Michael Legault I wonder if BF4 would have even passed nintendo’s standards for stability at launch, last I heard Nintendo was pretty strict on that kind of thing as they want people to be able to buy a game and not have to download a day 1 patch to make the game even playable. You know, standards. jjbredesen It would never pass, it would be called an alpha game according to Nintendo’s standards and would still not have been released in the state it is in today, trust me i have played it on PS3 and PS4 and its still horrible, i don’t own the game luckily and never will. It is a disgrace that EA actually would publish it, and that gamers actually buy shit like it, ridiculous how blind most gamers are. Michael Legault That’s the fucked up part especially when they jokeabout having finally optimized frostbyte to run Mario and Zelda, for fuck’s sake they can’t even optimize it to run properly on the consoles they want it to. jjbredesen Exactly, they have no clue what they are doing! EA is simply the result of how greedy gamers are and faboys :/ And from what i can tell that is sadly the way the industry is going… mrjoedawgbrother A company that banks on long term gaming, but releases a sports game every year, making the previous one irrelevant automatically. And the award for the Golden Poo, goes to….. matthew garcia Your absolutely right but the thing is the game still sales great every year. As long as sales are great they will keep doing it just like call of duty. Can’t blame them for using the masses stupidity to make money mrjoedawgbrother It’s funny, because that was my thought as I was typing that. “Man, play me online in Madden 25.” “Uh, I have Madden ’13” “YOU GOTTA GET THE NEW ONE” “I hate you. Mario Kart 8 it is.” Jon well, lets see, in 2-3 years, the 3DS will be 5-6 and a half years old. What’s sad is he is saying how these are going to die out when the 3DS is back to being the Number 1 world wide seller and it is 3 and a half years old now. It is beating out the consoles that are less than a year old. I said it before and I’ll say it again. Consoles are dying. It is sad but it is true. The Wii U, Xbox One are all selling poorly and the PS4 is falling to those numbers now. Yes you can argue that they have games coming to drive sales for them but so does the 3DS. matthew garcia Actually u have it backwards 3ds is selling way worse then the original 3ds and ps4 is beating the crap out of ps3. Consoles are only dying in japan Ducked You mean DS? Joseph Oliveira I have no idea what he means. matthew garcia Lol yes that’s what I meant Jon um… have you see the sales numbers? A 3 and a half year old system is the number 1 seller now. it has been for a few weeks now Yes, the PS4 started off doing great but it has dropped and is not selling less than 100k a week. The PS3 start out horribly and was hugely expensive making it so people wouldn’t buy it to begin with. Also, of course the 3DS is selling worse than the first ones, Sales ALWAYS drop as time goes on with a few spikes here and there and in some cases of price drops, Unless of course you mean the DS. But if you are talking about the DS then we should bring up the fact of the PS2. Also, if you want to compare the PS3. The sales of the PS3 later in the year after they fixed a lot of the issues on why it wasn’t selling , the PS3 was selling more per week, infact, by the end of July 07, the PS3 was selling more than 100k where as the PS4 has dropped below that. So that Gap and PS4 beating the crap out of the PS3, you are going to see that Gap close in. Daniel Gonzalez I take it you found these numbers on VGChartz? Jon Vgcharts is reliable for the later information on figures that are usually great than a week. After a week is up they are usually not far off but their best is over a month. Daniel Gonzalez I’m not going to say whether they’re right or wrong on sales for any platform or even software, but I take them with a grain of salt. Rinslowe It’s a fair comment to take their current figures with a grain of salt. So far almost all of their no’s have turned out to be lower than the actual count. But it’s ok to use the site to reach a rough estimate on sales. Older stats are more reliable seeing as though sources have already confirmed the no’s. They aren’t always up with the play on updating their database though. Better to complement them with regional sources when trying to make accurate points. anthony optimo Nintendo has been around longer than EA though… Bob Wilkerson No, EA focuses on the quick buck which is why they love phone and tablet games because those fit their DRM, pay to play, and microtransaction business model. Make a quick and crappy mobile app instead of investing time into a quality game. If they think Nintendo is not a part of the future of gaming then they are more dumb than I thought. TheSkeletonMan939 . “And you look at the quality of what you can do on phones and tablets… ” You mean garbage? Sure, there are some great mobile games out there, but they’re far and few between. Any idiot can put his game on the iTunes store. EA used to make great games… I’m not sure what happened, but now all they do is rush out incomplete junk. Bob Wilkerson Thats the key here. Some good games but mostly it is a sea of crappy apps that have the main intent of charging you 99 cents or a cheap price to get in and then make you pay to play and unlock key points in the game to continue. Most of these games (even some of the good ones) end up being fly by night fads and are raved about one day and forgotten the next. This is what will happen to EA eventually as eventually their greed will catch up to them and they will become like many other game studios that are closing doors or in big financial hurt these days. If EA truly wanted to focus on the future they would keep Nintendo close as Nintendo will be a part of the gaming future. Hikingguy It sounds like the Atari fiasco of the mid 80’s all over again. Denvy Why infuse personal opinions in a news article? I think your last sentence was really unnecessary, regardless if I or anyone else think it true. Just report. TheSkeletonMan939 . Yeah, I also think that last sentence was really just uncalled for. Even if the general consensus here is that EA’s business plan is flawed, there’s no reason to add that in to a NEWS article. Rinslowe Wii U Daily. It’s touchy-feely like that… FutureFox More like: just copy and trim. That is essentially what they do. Joseph Oliveira The person who created the Article is right. EA bashed two handheld devices and says that mobile gaming is the way to go, ha! I support that last paragraph. Denvy You’re missing the point. Real “news” doesn’t infuse opinion like that. This article is a joke. wober2 I hope dedicated handhelds are still around. They said themselves more competition is a good thing… Mr Ninty if a developer goes bankrupt i often experience a mood like a death of a distant friend i pity it but quickly move on. when EA goes bankrupt i will party like we just won the world cup `hup holland hup’ Daniel Gonzalez Well, it didn’t take long for this article to be ripped apart. With it being about EA, can’t say I blame anyone. Happy head hunting. Ducked The only game that interests me by EA is Star Wars Battlefront. If that game doesn’t cone to a Wii U then I’ll just buy it on PS4 (unless I buy an xbox one). matthew garcia I’m really looking forward to Dragon age also. Wait a minute is that made by ea? Daniel Gonzalez Yep. If you buy it, you made a pact with the devil. matthew garcia I loved Dragon age origins lol Petri Did you try Dragon Age 2? matthew garcia Yes I played it but origins is way better. I’m looking forward to part 3 cuz it’s suppose to go back to that style Petri I see, well, I’m not that trusting and forgiving, EA has ruined way too many franchises. Ducked Yes it is, I actually have interest in that. Not as much as The Witcher 3 Jeko The newest Battlefront game is being developed by DICE, not EA. But it, unfortunately, will likely not make it to Wii U. Jon Turner Chances are it will probably turn out terribly anyway. Einscengi I’ve bought more indie games in the past year than I have EA games in the past ten. Its all about entertainment and quality. Michael Dierlam Here is a rhetorical question for everyone. If their games are so pathetic and under-produced, why do we care so much that they are not bringing them to our console? Gamer Mania It’s not really games more of EA themselves being dicks. Hikingguy I think it has to do more with how such a large video game company can thumb their nose at brands such as Nintendo, and Sega (Dreamcast) and do it with such arrogance. Out of one side of their mouth they say we are on great terms and then their actions do not match their words. EA has been doing it for years. In my opinion they really showing their colors with the Dreamcast and their out and out refusal to put anything on the system. But they are at least honest, they follow the money. Their strategy is to buy companies with games that people want so bad that they buy the game even if it is half baked. But at some point it may back fire on them. Rinslowe Most of their games are forgettable today. But some are still amazing. Would never imply pathetic. Personally I could care less if an EA game makes it to Wii U or not. Gamer’s watch the industry today and are invested in the developments and dramas that unfold within it. So most people I think are interested in the situation between third party publishers/ studios and how they are openly backing out of supporting the Wii U platform. How that affects them and Nintendo etc.. Also that up voting oneself, never gets old! A good ol pat on the back never hurt anyone. 🙂 Michael Dierlam lol. That actually was an accident. I don’t post here much. I spread some love to your post if that makes you feel better. Rinslowe It did actually. 🙂 Back at ya. Gamer Mania EA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoYWdHe4tQ4 Gabe Hoffman THIS A BILLION TIMES THIS 00EpicGamer00 What movie is that from? I recognize it, I just can’t remember the name. >.< Michael Ocampo A Tom and Jerry movie where the main two characters actually talk. It’s pretty good I think, haven’t seen it in a while. 00EpicGamer00 I thought it was Tom and Jerry. The two people in the video threw me off a bit. I didn’t remember evil people being in Tom and Jerry, lol. I think I actually have this movie. Epicstuf Now, repeat this an infinte amount of times. Petri Smartphone “gamers”, has attention span of a squirrel. And well, I honestly do not want anything to do with this EA’s “future”. Besides, when was the last time, that EA actually made a good handheld game? Petri Hill climb racing is all I need for my smartphone, EA games… meh. MrTravan There is no such thing as a great game on a cell phone. There are some games that would be “it’s a good game for a game on a phone”, but that’s about it. Can’t remember who said it, so I’m not taking credit for this quote, but it pretty much sums it up. “mobile games are only good for when you’re taking a dump”. oontz There are a ton of great games on mobile. MrTravan We’ll have to agree to disagree. Unless you can name one I’ve never seen. BTW, I don’t consider Angry Birds, Candy Crush, etc to be good at all. Complete wastes of time and phone memory. FutureFox Smartphone gaming is like the popularity of bad music. Real gamers know its bad but we are increasingly being outnumbered. You can tell by how vocal we’re becoming : ) oontz Go play a telltale game and tell me it’s bad. Quicksilver88 It is just insane in that 3DS is approaching 50mil units sold. DS did 150mil and Nintendo has owned handheld gaming since GB launched with tetris. As others have said phone/tablet gaming to date mostly sucks. Close to 10 years of these type devices and there is still little that defines touch gaming in a revolutionary way. The next mobile device Nintendo makes should be a GB phone. The 3DS analogue is perfect design for mobile and being the masters of controller design if anyone could create a workable form factor with solid controls its Nintendo. So make both a phone an non-phone version and push the phone version cheap with contract thru the major carriers. Anyways EA are idiots…..remember while winning worst company of the year they beat out companies like Bank of America who foreclosed thousands of homes….yeah EA people hate you that bad. WiiU sales have been weak but 3rd parties have not understood the WiiU or the Nintendo fan. Nintendo is far from blameless by launching a new console concept without a major title to show the potential. I worry about the future of gaming because the masses want shallow shit and the publishers want to embrace them to make easy $$$…..meanwhile ‘traditional’ gaming is growing stale with very little advancement in gameplay and input for nearly a decade. oontz There are a lot of amazing titles for mobile… But the problem is there is a lot of crap to sift through to find those amazing gems. Quicksilver88 I do agree there is a ton of crap to sift thru…….I just don’t see touch controls as very viable for most types of games. I really liked the Magic games on iPad and also the Lords of Waterkeep game. Thing is Card games, SRPG/Tower Defense, and trivial little stuff like Angry Birds are the only game types that really work. I am ollllllddddd school and you are never going to put a twitch reflex platformer or fighting game on a tablet……at least not without a separate controller. It doesn’t matter cause EA really does suck balls and if it weren’t for ME and Dragon Age I wouldn’t even touch them. Googs Fuck off you moron. FutureFox You mean, “Moore-on.” jjbredesen Ba dum- tss Epicstuf Drum joke 1.9 Rob Bean Android and IOS apps are the buffet of the gaming industry. They are not the future. They provide a cheap, crappy, throw-away experience. Can you picture anyone ten years from now talking about Candy Crush being the best game they ever played? Not gonna happen. People like the buffet, but they don’t stop going to 4 star restaurants. Game consoles will always take a large share of the gaming market. Phone apps can’t compete with games like MK8. EA will be back on Nintendo eventually. Either that or OOB. Hikingguy This is very true. I just hope that EA comes back on Nintendo’s terms. I watch as my kids go from game to game on the mobile devices, maybe giving 5 minutes to each game, but they will play for hours on the consoles (if I let them that is). I bet Nintendo more than anyone knows how fickle the casual audience can be. great deku tree true. my 4 year old brother goes in and out of games all the time on my dads laptop or my older brothers phone but with my (other) older brother’s 3ds? he’s wrapped up for hours either playing Zelda OoT 3D or else watching me playing through it (since he can only go so far without getting stuck….being a 4 year old) that’s not to say that he’s always on video games…..he still plays a lot of sports and toys but yeah, even a 4 year old can tell apart good games from cheap ones. actually when I think about it he really loves the Zelda franchise as a whole. he’s watched me play through TP, SS, WWHD, OoT3D and ALTTP. Hikingguy Yep, young kids really can tell the classics. My kid who is 6 could not get enough of the Original Zelda. He would watch me play it and then play it himself. It is amazing how truly classic games can transcend time. But when I introduce him to other games of that era, he might only play them for a few minutes until he is board. For example, he did not like Elevator Action. great deku tree My little brother also loves mega man games (I only have 1 and 4 though) and recognised him when he was revealed as a character for SSB4 which is another franchise he loves (should have seen his face when he saw mega man’s final smash XD) Craig Mclachlan So why then are they releasing Fifa 15 on Wii and not Wii U, do they think that will be there in years to come (Wii), or are they just creaming money in the short term, due to the Wii having a large install base! Hikingguy yes. It is a total numbers game. Craig Mclachlan True mate, true. oontz Because wiiu owners can also buy and play the wii version. Ea saves money by only developing and manufacturing one version that plays on two consoles. Smart business actually. Craig Mclachlan We shall stick with Fifa 13, we picked it up for £12, just after it came out on Wii U.:) ActivesiN sigh I am so upset, so we are not going to get terrible sports games and broken battlefield games coming to Wii U? damn damn damn ZeldaFanzzzz And the award goes to…… Epicstuf YES! bistricky I never say something ‘sucks’ because it is usually thrown out without thought or good reasoning …. but I find this is justified …. EA SUCKS! Cheers 😀 Gabe Hoffman iPhone games are almost equivalent to fads in that they seem to sell millions and be insanely popular then are immediately forgotten in favor of the net big thing that comes out.It just baffles me how a game like Candy Crush which is essentially nothing more than a bejeweled reskin manages to make millions of dollars. Its not very wise of EA to invest so much in the smartphone market considering how fickle causals can be Shane Michaels Nintendo, matters in the long term. EA, if they dare make another Battlefield 4, AND IF THEY EVEN SLIGHTLY DO SOMETHING WRONG WITH BATTLEFRONT, will likely not. jjbredesen If they screw up battlefront i will personally build a star destroyer just to crash in to there HQ! This was my reaction when finding out EA owned the rights to make Battlefront: http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120616003315/random-ness/images/9/9f/Darth_vader_no.gif Rinslowe They’re going to screw up Battlefront. It’s a done deal. Hope is a double edged sword. But I got me some “hope plugs”. Yep, you read me correctly. Only have eyes for Disney/ Lucasfilm/ Bad Robot Productions and their bringing yet more Star Wars greatness to the big screen. I can’t wait. That will not be a screw up. Nope. jjbredesen Mmmm i am very worried, but who knows i think they could do a good job, Disney are not that bad at making movies, some of there newer big screen stuff have been really good, but some not so good. We will not get a death star with mickey mouse ears, but i am still worried… Rinslowe I’m not. Disney’s had their game face on in recent years. Shane Michaels Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote Empire Strikes Back, is involved. Practical effects will be used, and J.J. Abrams has all the respect for Star Wars possible. (Star Trek under him became Star Wars anyway.) So I’m confident. And those spin offs! They sound amazing. The guy behind Chronicle, and Godzilla, and plenty of other quality films. Fiercedeitymelkor I think kasdan is not involved in episode vii but will be writing viii. I think the 2 new star trek movies are the worst ones, but I can see what you mean when you say he made them more like star wars movies. Shane Michaels He’s writing. Kathleen Kennedy will also be producing, and she’s classic film pro (Jurassic series, Raiders of the Lost Ark). jjbredesen Well i think it can be good, and they have made some good movies, but i am not 100% sure, who knows though? Perhaps they will be better than the originals? oontz Battlefront will likely be battlefield with a starwars skin. Rinslowe It’ll probably release buggy as hell. And all jacked up on cliche’ after cliche’. I love the Star Wars universe. I’d be really happy to be wrong about this. Shane Michaels This’ll be Peter Moore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHGCzRR3fKk Rinslowe Moore like the schwartz…. http://memeguy.com/photos/images/may-the-schwartz-be-with-you-on-this-day-in-spaceballs-was-released-119493.gif bistricky I’d buy a SpaceBalls game ….. may the Schwartz be with you …. play as Barf ….. that s**t never gets old. Rinslowe Yeah totally. If it was well written with plenty of humour to drive the game forward. Plus taking the mechanics and gameplay seriously. Could make for a pretty spectacular game. Erik Mozolik I got pissy until I realized… hey, I dont play EA games anyhow so who cares JohnBRobinson we’ve got to be planning for FY 17 and 18. Do you think the Vita and 3DS are going to be around in some shape or fashion by then on a scale level? http://tr.im/5ntlz Zanzama Typical EA logic… http://www.infinitelooper.com/?v=2tU5z2lWsZQ&p=n#/29;44 20pdemau the wii u might even outsell the ps4 in smash oontz Wishful thinking, but not likely. Daniel Gonzalez I do love Smash, but with a ton of releases coming from third parties and Sony themselves next year, I don’t see it happening either. I can see Wii U finishing second this gen if they can make up for the loss of third party support. Even with Microsoft struggling as they are, still have a good chance of passing the Wii U. 00EpicGamer00 Also remember Microsoft has released the new “kinect less” version. This will entice allot of people to buy the Xbox One, that didn’t want the Kinect. And with the fact the Xbox One is $400 now. I think Microsoft will have a little more success now. It’s to early to tell if it’ll surpass the Wii U, but it could happen. Donaald In other words EA admits they’re just like the YouTube gaming community. LMAO so fucking exposed! Shane Michaels http://i.minus.com/ibnE8tK4fSyVSB.gif Daniel Carvalho I find this hilarious! XD But that sure is the case: people bash the Wii U without even trying to know it. What defines a “generation” of console? Raw power? Certainly not, as that has never been the case until the Wii U came out. What defines a generation is the time those machines are on the market, and that is the case now: the Wii U is out on the market right now, alongside the PS4 and Xbox One, it will receive games at the same time Sony’s and Microsoft’s consoles and it will receive some multiplatform titles just like the PS4 and XBONE! If this doesn’t convince you, then we have its architecture: it utilizes GPCPU instead of separated CPU and GPU. This is something that has never been done in any other generation, and is being utilized by consoles of this generation. There, you have technologies that have never been used before on a new machine. It IS current gen, just accept it! Hikingguy I think by the time this generation comes to an end, everyone will have forgotten that they use to think the Wii U was “last gen”. Because it absolutely is not. Nintendo just walks a different path. Really they always have. For a period of time it was the only path to walk (the late 80’s), but they are always doing something different than the rest. That could not be more true since Sony and the other one got into the game. Daniel Carvalho In 30 years they’ll say Nintendo’s next console isn’t “next-gen” because it doesn’t have as much raw power as the PS10, while ignoring the fact that it’ll be the only console capable of implementing space-time-shifting as a controller, while all the Sony console has is a Dual Shock 10. Let’s face it, it’s always been a trend to claim Nintendo’s doom (If you research a bit, you’ll find videos and news from the 90’s claiming SEGA is going to take out Nintendo with their next-gen console, making the Kyouto based company go bankrupt). I don’t know why people like that subject so bad, but it’s popular, a trend, and probably won’t fade away so easily. While they’re at it, we keep playing Nintendo games and they keep having their profits! Hikingguy LOL space-time-shifting that’s awesome. I lived the Sega/Nintendo console wars so I do remember. I guess when you are perceived as the one to beat, everyone wants to knock you off the pedestal. MetroidZero ROFL Daniel Carvalho It’s simple: videogames, both handhelds and home consoles, are place for great developers that deliver quality content. EA doesn’t do that, they simply shove some crap on you and expect us to pay the full price of a AAA game. They have tons of rivals on that territory that just deliver better games and better services. On smartphones and tablets, they are competing against small studios that have little to no experience on gaming design, less resources and no name; in other words, they are the big fish in the small aquarium! Most handheld titles are horrible games (Flappy Bird is just the same crap from start to end, and there are loads of those out there). Yet it’s proven to be a great market for those who luckily get their names on that middle. What EA is trying to do is get lucky on that middle and be the next Flappy Bird or Candy Crush Saga. Yet, they fail to understand what makes those titles the success they are: the public! Flappy Bird is one of the worst games I’ve ever played, it has no learning curve, no challenges, it’ only about touching the screen with the right timing from start to end, and that’s it. What made this game so famous was how much bad of a game it is: PewDiePie (Youtube user with over 27 millions subscribers) talked about bad that game was and told people NOT to play it, and suddenly everyone was trying the game out. Candy Crush Saga is a different kind of gamble, where the game is pretty much well-structured and encourages you to keep going, by both rewarding you whenever you make smart choices or by getting more people to play the game. If you want more lives, you could just invite a friend to get the game and you could both keep playing it – and inviting even more friends for more lives! Those are just a few examples of how handheld games find their way to the success on a media that doesn’t favor any title or any company. It’s either luck that someone is talking about your title or a really smart way to make players invite others to get to know your game. EA doesn’t have what it takes to make games you’d want to tell your friends to play, so that’s out of question. They already have a name, so you’d think they have an advantage, but they are known for making incomplete games and disrespecting consumers! Anyone who knows that would avoid anything that has their logo on it, and even those don’t accompany gaming news can find that out without much work – the internet never ceases to remember people of how much of a mercenary EA is! They are trying to run away from their rivals on consoles as they see their games won’t sell. They tried to give us cheap crap and we didn’t buy it, so they’re moving away. They are trying to achieve what successful tablet titles have achieved: money over games built with low budgets. But we’re talking about EA here, they have nothing that could stand out in the middle of thousands of indie games! Sure, they’ll make some money with their games here and there, but certainly nothing that stands out. And when they realize they’re not getting money from it, they’ll move to another “future of gaming” and start saying tablets and smartphones won’t be out there in three years, just like they’re doing now with the 3DS and Vita! iamserious I have never heard of Flappy Bird. I was thinking you were referring to the other bird game called Angry Birds but it seems there is a game called Flappy Bird. Daniel Carvalho And that’s part of my point. You’ll never see a gaming news site or magazine making reviews for handheld games like Angry Birds or Flappy Bird. They are famous on their media now, but soon they’ll become obsolete and their companies will have to find another way to appeal to the public with different games. Can you imagine EA doing something different?! They believe it’s a profitable market where you can just drop in pay-to-win content as much as they want and that’ll guarantee a 100% chance of profit. Just let them sink themselves on those irregular waters, as people simply ditch their games because they found something better to play without having to pay! oontz Many gaming sites review mobile games. What internet are you on? Hikingguy people for the most part are lemmings. You point, they go. Most people want to conform and if it seems that everyone likes game XYZ, everyone flocks. It is just made easier with the device being already in your hands. Convenience is King. People will accept substandard anything if it is convenient. Just look at food. If it can be cooked quick and looks like food, people will eat it. Taste is secondary. And who cares about Nutrition if it is convenient. If it is a video game and they can buy it for .99 or free and play it for a few seconds no matter how shallow it is, people will play it and “have fun”. Or at least they will tell others how much fun it is. FutureFox Prophetically accurate. Stephen Dorn *sigh*… I miss the Harry Potter games, not the ones that were based off of the movies, but the more cartoony ones that were based off of the books. Seeing this strategy, I don’t think more would ever come from EA, so would someone please make more of those? maybe even a choose your own path kind of game, where you make your own character and different things happen based on where you go and what you do, I mean, with harry potter I never really cared about the characters, it was all about the magic and the locations. RIP: The best thing about EA Jason I love the first three Harry Potter games, and Quidditch World Cup for the PS2, after that, they game the games REALLY easy, and with the last two they turned them into FPS. You don’t make Harry Potter an PFS, you just don’t. Jason Well EA always gives Nintendo the gimped version of their games, so I don’t care if they’re not supporting it. Aquarium Make sense BuckStud I’m focusing on my future, that’s why I don’t buy EA games…. blindtiger i need to write a letter to the nfl and ask them not to resign their contract with EA… love sports games but cant boycott EA enough oontz I would love another NFL game from the 2K series. Daniel Gonzalez To this day, I don’t know how NFL thought Madden games were anywhere near superior to the NFL 2K series. Missed opportunity there. oontz Not only did the 2k series look and run better… The gameplay was way ahead of madden. I think ea knew they couldn’t compete and threw a ton of money at the nfl for the sole game rights. Sucks for football fans. Daniel Gonzalez The ending result was EA being the voted the worst company twice. Madden suffered over the years. I don’t know if EA still has the license for exclusivity, but I think it’s time for the NFL to bring back competition. Madden is a washed up franchise. Henry Hotspur I can see their point, but it just sounds so vile. I can totally understand their notion of Vita dying. But 3DS, are you kidding? That has been selling like crazy for 2+ years and shows little signs of slowing down. Wii U has also been catching up. Meanwhile, PS4 has been curbstomping Xbox One since its launch. EA just seems to be making bad moves in general. oontz “But 3DS, are you kidding? ” He said year 17 and 18 (2017 and 2018). Most likely Nintendo will release their next handheld before that. Regardless I just bought a 3ds xl and can’t wait to dig into the backlog of games!! Jon Turner People on IGN’s forums are saying there is no hope for WiiU because its sales are falling to normal after MK8, or at least according to VGChartz (who is always inaccurate). This, despite the argument that MK8 sold about 377k WiiUs this June! William Cole You know what, with all the negativity something in the back of my mind keeps telling me that the Wii U will do just fine. I just stopped listening to all the people who think power is everything. That is why Nintendo will continue to stick out from the normal bunch for years to come. Anyone can make a game look good. Not everyone can make a good game. Nicolas Dorion EA focuses on the future: That must be why their PC releases and PC ports are of such great quality oh wait MetroidZero Same can be said with Ubisoft. Horrible PC ports. Nicolas Dorion Like how ubisoft had the balls to say that Watch Dogs was a game that was ment to be played on PC and that it would be it’s n.1 platform what a load of horseshit Petri It’s equally crappy on every platform. PC version was downgraded, so that “next-gen” would not look that bad. shadus When the modding community finds the E3 assets in the PC code of the game turns them on and the game runs smoother then it did without them on then you know Ubisoft is playing some type of game. Thomas Stevenson 3ds? Thomas Stevenson he just told sony the vita doesnt matter? Petri Does it? Even Sony has nothing big planned for it. iamserious Doesn’t seem EA has much of a future either so guess I wont be using any of my resources to support them either. Will W I’m sure MAXIS could do fine without them. Hikingguy In the current environment I am sure a lot of those companies that EA bought years ago could do fine without them Quintin Cervantes EA was voted worst company of the year 2 years straight, so this all makes sense if they want tonmake it 3 years JudgeMethos Oh WHATEVER…3DS probably WON’T around by Fiscal year 2017 -2018. There’ll probably be on the new portable by then. EA has NEVER been that great a publisher or creator to me. Dead Space and Madden was it for me. Need for Speed was fine for Wii U but EA only published that. majora :D This shows that EA has no confidence in their ability to make games so great you have to buy them, no matter if you have to buy a console with it. They don’t trust themselves. Will W Similar to this company you might have heard about called Atari. I’m surprised EA hasn’t begun making it’s own consoles that need to be updated every year… Petri I would love to EA to get on making the consoles. Would be fun to watch them fall. Will W EA: thinking in the now, in a tentative future! So, it takes a couple years to develop a game. 3DS and Vita probably won’t be as relevant, in 3 or 4 years, but people also tend to hang on to older technology (as the resale value tends to diminish from year to year…). Why not just stop producing anything? They might as well start working on Next-Next Gen games. In a few years, who’s going to care about the PS4 and Xbox one? And then Nintendo-Sega company’s Nintega’s UltraComputerEntertainmentSystem, PS5 and Xbox two? But Then, in 2029, who’s going to care about those may as well start working on the NEXT generation… and on and on… EA’s corporate heads are hypocrites (especially that Pete Moore). There is no single word that can describe them better. Dáibhí wotshissurname It’s shits like EA who are creating the tablet/handheld problem – and eve then they barely support the tablets well! They are pushing out such finely crafted handeld gaming devces such as the 3DS and PS Vita and it saddens me that peopleare buying machines with awkward and rather intangible controls for gaming kver a piece of awesomness like the 3DS or Vita but I can see why. To show how strngly I feelabout this, let me tell you I am typing this on my s Vita refat17 I guess it’s due to the fact that both Sony and Microsoft have stated that this will be the longest lasting generation (10 years I believe). That seems a little crazy to me though. oontz “That seems a little crazy to me though.” Not that crazy seeing as the previous generation is still selling consoles and it’s almost been 10 years for them. refat17 I get your point, but consoles selling has nothing to do with my statement. People still buy the nes to play nes games that they buy, that doesn’t mean it’s supported by devs today in any way. My point is, won’t the consoles be heavily out-dated at that point. Rob I think smartphone and tablet games suck. They are low quality games and require in-app purchases to really progress in the game. EA loses my business. I’ll stick with quality gaming. EA is really only good at making sports games anyway. oontz “I think smartphone and tablet games suck. They are low quality games” You have obviously never played any Telltale games then. Rinslowe I play Tetris… oontz You should try some telltale games, the wolf among us is brilliant! Rinslowe I play Tetris… 00EpicGamer00 I want to play the Wolf Among Us so bad! I loved The Walking Dead (can’t wait for “season two”). I’m just waiting for a physical version for consoles. In which, there is. According to gamefly, the physical versions are set to release November 18th. Quite a long time away. But it’s worth it. 🙂 Keith D. Witherspoon To put this in more perspective, EA knows that Nintendo as a company will be just fine in the future, but will their products succeed on these platforms. Apparently they do not see their products succeeding, so from a business stand point they are somewhat just in their ideals. EA’s business strategy is not compatible with Nintendo’s and the PS Vita simply doesn’t sell enough to be relevant to anyone. PlayboyPacquiao Any business major will say “my ass” Dark Lord Sauron i dont give a rats @$$ about you EA ur company is run by monkeys LJay Whatever EA-fuck off Dark Lord Sauron EA is still butthurt that nintendo said no to origin on the wii u Brandon Burce You said it 🙂 *high fives* Brandon Burce I didn’t forget that topic when Fifa 15 isn’t going to the Wii U but instead on the Wii, that is bullshit spewing out of EA’s own mouths. So glad Origin is still not on the Wii U because EA deserves it 😛 Mr. J Ok not puting your games on Wii U because of it’s lackluster audience for third party games and poor sales, but continuing to bash it after you’ve done this not cool man….not cool. rafael theres no mention of the wii u in this quote….this site is the worst nintendo news site on the internet, i cant believe how many times ive seen this happen here. You guys have no ethics, even creating news like that Zelda U leak…im done with this. You guys must think you are really smart doing this to gain a little more traffic, but you will just ruin any credibilty you have in the long term. Good bye. Jon Turner A better title for this article is “Why EA is full of it!” And the information in this article is technically incorrect; Moore didn’t actually mention WiiU in his comments. That doesn’t change the fact that EA is such a horrible company. They deserve to go bankrupt. gamerinexile Meanwhile, the best games out there are released on dedicated devices that gamers actually care about. Games like Mario Kart 8, Shovel Knight, 3DWorld etc are selling well and are highly rated, too. Over at EA, you get more glitchy bullsh*t and “free”to-play disasters like Dungeon Keeper mobile. Thanks, Pete, but we don’t need you. Screamin Mime Well SCREW YOU EA, we don’t need you and your crapp… Dungeon Keeper? They did and updated Dungeon Keeper? I-I-I’ll be right back! Epicstuf Even that’s crap. Squid Ea come back when a new game wows me. Joel Frankly I’ve had an Ipad and until last year an Iphone for about 4 years now and can say that in that time I’ve spent an obscene amount of money on Apps and games for my devices……………..$0 I’d simply rather play my Wii or my Xbox360, I don’t have a 3ds or vita but I have had a PSP for absolutely ages and enjoyed it most of the time. I don’t pay for apps or mobile games, and really I can’t say that more than 1 or 2 of the people I know have ever paid money to buy or play a game on a mobile platform. The last App my wife bought was a health and feeding schedule for our baby girl, and before that the only other App she had ever bought was an interior design App for her work. gamingpalooza Peter Moore, a former Microsoft employee, who once screwed over SEGA so badly they he forced them out of the console market, is full of shit. Spaniard0069 Translation: We will continue to release broken games and make profits with DLC and micro transactions. Steven Aet So you mean I can’t play unfinished, buggy ass games on the Wii U? I’m just so bummed by that. Fuzzylittlebastard I just really don’t care about EA anymore. Dark Lord Sauron ea is just butthurt over not having origin on wii u Ben English Uh-huh. Only support platforms that matter in the long run… which is why FIFA 15 is on Wii but not Wii U. I mean if they just said “We don’t expect it to sell enough to justify the cost of porting it” that’s one thing, but this is just bullshit. PS4WiiURocks Peter moore can suck it as can EA ..A crap company… TaintedXGamer I hope Electronic Assholes Dies like blockbusters did in the UK aka close down. Though I doubt that’ll happen coz they make the sport games……actually EA please fade into obscurity. ColdRadio I’m not sure I’ve ever played an EA game, so as far as I’m concerned they can keep any games they have. But I do feel I need to point out this article’s title is a bit misleading–Moore doesn’t call out Nintendo in this interview at all. He even says he hopes Wii U sales will pick up. He is only stating the opinion that dedicated gaming handhelds are slowly being replaced by smartphones, and that it makes more sense to focus the company’s efforts in that direction instead. oontz “I’m not sure I’ve ever played an EA game” Well if you only own a wiiu, you probably never will. J_Joestar didn’t they make a number of ports early on? so it isn’t impossible no matter how unlikely… Epicstuf Screw EA. That is a Bullshit opinion. All the games that EA make are BS cash-in games and sports games. EA SUCKS! Takarashi282 Money is a powerful idea. It doesn’t justify being an asshole, but I can see where they’re coming from. If they think that those said consoles don’t hold a future, oh well, all the more power to them as they work on other platforms. It really isn’t a bad idea for them to develop for this market. It just depends on which perspective you take it in. And now I have a critique: I love when you make this more interactive with the readers. Questions, hangers, something for us to chew on. Doing this sort of article is really ineffective and is redundant. We know that EA isn’t going to develop for Nintendo. We KNOW that they can be asses when saying so. But for the love of Pete give it a look from another perspective! It is much more effective way to go about it. Aleks Clearly zero art or soul at EA. Money is their sole purpose and they have no thought for the health or support of the gaming community at large. This i wholeheartedly abhor and will not support in any way, shape or form. Just change your name to Umbrella already. Leo EA = Umbrella Corporation bwahahahahahaha Moon Knight The man with the Halo 2 tattoo doesn’t like Nintendo. Oh boo hoo. Dark Link EA, don’t you realize people don’t buy your games as much anymore? It will only be so long before you start losing money on games… The truth is, you aren’t a company we can trust as gamers anymore. You’ve become too greedy, more controlling and less forgivable. Adam Howell …So the reason they don’t make handheld games is because they don’t thing they’ll be around in 2017- 2018… So is the reason they didn’t start work on 3ds game a few years ago for release today because they didn’t think there would be a market for handhelds in 2014? I’m not aware of them releasing any 3ds games (I could be very wrong) but they did release plenty of ds games. Did they miscalculate how successful this gen of handhelds would be? Shootdatrupee!… This gen of handhelds is not very sucessful. Both the 3DS and the Vita are selling worse than their predecessors, not to mention missing projections by millions. Yes, NDS sales cannot be expected with mobile gaming in the fray, but that just shows why they think mobile gaming is the future…from a purely business perspective. Petri Missing sales projections is nothing special. 3DS has sold about the 1/3, and has been on the market half the time of DS, and is still selling. Vita on the other hand, has sold about 1/10th of its predecessor, and looks like its coming to the end of its line. Sony will most probably drop out, while Nintendo will introduce another portable. As of yet, there is no room for expensive or complex games on mobiles. So unless your happy with fappy birds, the future of mobile gaming is not that bright. Shootdatrupee!… The quality of the game has little to do with this. EA is trying to make as much money with as little effort, time, and expense as possible, on a platform that is likely to persist(note that some of the top grossing games on the App Store have been there for almost a year, while console games tend to lose momentum after a few weeks at best. While I don’t believe EA can put a game up there, their leaders probably think otherwise). And yes, there are good games on the App Store. I personally liked Galaxy On Fire 2 better than most games on my 3DS…and theres this…game called World of Goo that has a higher Metascore than freaking Twilight Princess. Of course, I don’t think EA switching to the mobile platform is a good idea, even if I don’t care about EA much at all. They’re probably not likely to make the amount of money that can satisfy their needs… Petri There are good games there, but whether those games actually sell, is another matter. I just do not see the kind of games that EA and Capcom make, to get them million sales. I have bought Final Fantasy games from 1 to 3 for my phone, even though I like those games, I never have the time to get in to them. I play hill climb racing if I’m bored, like waiting for wife to finish shopping. And at home, I rather play with my PC or Wii U, than cramp my hands with smartphone. Mobile market is like brainless entity. If something gets popular, it just does, that does not mean that the hundreds copies of that game will get attention, or the original game that the popular one is ripping off. Arthur Jarret EA: We are focusing on the future. And the future is badly tested, quickly made run-of-the-mill paywalled mobile games and Origin. Nintendo, Steam?… psssh, nobody will be using THAT in two years time! Robert Wagner Jeez, talk about a “good relationship”. EA’s treading some thin ice here. They’ve gone as far as straight up insulting Nintendo, and it’s products/hardware. I haven’t bought a single EA game since, what, like 2011? Being greedy, you’d think they’d know where the pot of gold is at the end of this rainbow. Point is, they’re embarrassing themselves and treating thier customers and fans poorly. Wii? You! Disappointed in you Peter. You were with Sega in the Dreamcast days when EA were boycotting that system, I would have thought you might be able to see the bigger picture considering your background. But alas it seems you are just another corporate numbskull! Can’t wait to Pirate any future EA games that I might want. Screw you Peter! Yuma Tsukumo EA’s future doesn’t look too good. BF4 release, terrible. Not supporting Wii U, dumb idea. EA has no games that i care about, most of them are the same shite every year, credit where its due though, battlefield hard line looks different as does the new Criterion game. The point is, not supporting the Wii U and their REAL reason behind it is just plain sad. Nintendo doesn’t want origin on their console EA, get the fuck over it. You got turned down, stop crying about it already.. Their new excuse to not supporting Nintendo is the sales figures of their games such as Mass effect 3 and Need for Speed U. Okay, First off why does it have to be called Need for speed U? Why is the U necessary? ‘Definitive edition’ or something amongst those lines sounds better. Putting my personal gripe with that aside, If EA didn’t release OLD GAMES when the Wii U launched, maybe their figures would’ve been better. Everyone who wanted to play those games had already played them, if EA had created something new, just for Wii U then maybe they’d have done a lot better (sales wise) I’m sure with all the talented devs they have, they could have created something new and unique and had some good ideas for the game-pad, but alas, EA, you are an ass. David Trail Right avoiding all ea products from now on. I like Fifa but EA need to die. David Trail 3DS has way more sales than any console. No future? David Trail Peter Moore go f%ck yourself. SpareChnge It does look like NFSU: Most Wanted is my last EA game. Leo EA Games: Challenging Everything… but no. SkullScience In other words ‘EA does not support consoles that don’t fully adopt Origin’!! Hissy Fit!! They may as well just say “we don’t care about games, just money”. As someone who remembers the birth of EA back in the 8-bit era, and the passion they had for video games, even on less successful systems, it shows the very sad and greedy decline of one of the founding fathers of the industry. The news about the ASA in regards to EA (Dungeon Keeper) is just further proof of their immoral and greed driven decline. TheyCallHimBigAl The problem with going mobile is sustainability. Zynga is a great example, made buckets of money with FarmVille maybe five years ago, went public, and is now hemorrhaging money because their long term prospects were not well made. Sure, we can argue that King Digital has made more money off of Candy Crush than the Wii U, but at the end of the day its another Bejeweled clone that’ll pass. If EA wants to go totally mobile then fine, but as far as their “long term” prospects for mobile gaming they are going to see their revenue streams shrink in the long run. TomDobo EA=Buggy game. Joel Cruz Well i HorizonChaser It would be nice if each time Peter Moore was mentioned as COO of EA he is also mentioned with his former Xbox position at Microsoft. Is it any wonder EA bet heavily on Xbox and dislikes Nintendo with him at the helm? dobrophonic So disappointing for gaming dads everywhere. My Xbox 360 died, so we bought a WiiU. My wife, daughter and I all like it a lot, and we all use it both to play together and individually. I’d love to be able to play NHL, Dragon Age and maybe even another Mass Effect on it, but I can’t because EA makes terrible management decisions. I only have time and money for one console, and I doubt I’ll want to play any of these games on my laptop (if they even make PC versions), so I won’t even be able to spend money on EA games unless they make them for the WiiU. The saddest part is that I live in the city where Bioware was founded and is still based, and I can’t play their games because of bad boardroom decisions made by ignorant, out-of-touch executives living in a bubble in California. I wish the founders of Bioware hadn’t sold the company to EA, or that they would speak out against EA’s abuse of their good name. The WiiU can clearly support high-end games, and the gamepad opens up new possibilities for those with the foresight and creativity to make use of it. Yes, resources are limited, but how hard is it to port something over? I’m sure it’s profitable, at the very least – there are enough dads out there like me that will play the games if EA just makes them available! No, we probably won’t buy a new set of sports games every year, but we will buy one every few years, and there’s enough of us that they will certainly sell. Does anyone know how Bethesda feels about the WiiU? They’re another company that makes great games, but I’ve never seen their name mentioned on any of the Nintendo/WiiU sites… Epicstuf The Wii U doesn’t need crappy ports. You should be happy. dobrophonic You’re right, I’d rather see the sports leagues separate the rights out to different consoles, so they can sell them to different developers. If EA aren’t going to use them, just carve out the WiiU development rights from the deal and sell them to someone who actually cares… Nada Galaxy S2 is nowhere near the specs of the Iphone 5s and that is coming from one that owns a Note 3. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7335/the-iphone-5s-review/7 . The Mali GPU is pretty outdated nowadays that resides in the S2 and S3. I own two tablets with the same CPU and GPU as in the S2 and performance isn´t exactly top notch. Epicstuf Who cares! Vk- I swear i don’t want to pirate DA:Inquisition, but they are pushing me hard with these comments. eli “let’s not publish games on any platform because they won’t be relevant in the next 10 years!” – EA…more or less Destructonator101 “We make games for the future!” Well then EA, why the fuck are you still making fucked rehashes like Fifa? Yeah you idiots you say all the wrong shit. Fuck EA. Fuck their games. Fuck their ugly motherfucker COO.
