DuckTales: Remastered will be hitting retail shelves this holiday season as a retail release on November 12. The game has been available digitally for Wii U for some time now, but a brand new disc-based version of the game will be available for Wii U, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

The retail price for this release is $19.99, which is $5 more than the digital version that’s currently available, but if you prefer to have all of your games on disc this is a great way to get a classic remastered. If you’re interested in checking out our review of the title, you can find it here. Will you be picking up Duck Tales: Remastered on disc? Let us know in the comments below!

DuckTales Kai. Would still be a better name πŸ˜€

    • Daniel Gonzalez

Care to explain why you think that?

      • Marcel Kleine

Dragonball Z Kai could have been renamed to Dragonball Z Remastered. Kai is shorter and looks better then Remastered to me.

        • Daniel Gonzalez

I guess. Speaking of DBZ, they need to stop with the lame remakes and just create a new series already.

          • Arthur Jarret

A prequel about the interstellar adventures of Nappa and Raditz.

They need to realize that these two were the real stars of Dragonball Z – and the series went down the drain as soon as both were killed off.

I’d also take a Genyu Force spinoff series – the dance choreography was interesting and I would like to learn more.

          • Marcel Kleine

I would love to do fusion with you XD

  • CEObrainz

As well as helping boost sales for the game a little advertising wouldn’t hurt from Nintendo. I can see this getting picked up by people who see the cover and get this whole Nostalgic feeling.

    Also another game to report:

It’s not 100% confirmed, that it’ll be a Disc though. The PS3 retail Version came with a pin or something like that and a download code..

    • The PS3 had a digital release, not retail. The PS3 digital version that came out on August 20th was a digital copy in the form of a paper with a code on it to download the game. The pin was attached to the piece of paper.

      • C4

Mhh interesting never heard of that release. Guess they saw the potential and demand for a retail release and now do it properly with a disc this time πŸ™‚

  • Tom Carson

I would love for it to be disc, tired of this digital stuff on nintendo consoles, if the wii dies so does your digital content.

    • Marcus Navarro

Once they put out a digital receipt system to rectify that, no excuses.

    • Nintedward

I thought that if you send your Wiiu to to get fixed with Nintendo they restore it so that it will work… And then you just plug your hard drive in again. And everything can be re-downloaded of the Eshop if you delete it first.

So if they sent me my Wiiu back fixed, and it still had my profile on it, I could go on Eshop and simply re-download my games.

      • Magnus Eriksson

Yeah, they do. That part is not a problem.

    • Not entirely true.. While it is a pain in the ass you can contact Nintendo and tell them you had to replace your console, give them the serial number of the new console, while on the phone you go through the setup with your current NintendoID, and Nintendo transfers ownership and you re-download.

So it can be done but I think Nintendo needs to make it easier and more self sufficient.

    • Ducked

I have to buy this, for starts my nephews are in this game, alongside my uncle.

      • Deezy

    • Jonathan Dogey

If the original Wii, and Nintendo, proved anything, it’s that your digital content DOESN’T die with the system. Pretty much every single thing transferred over from Wii to Wii U just fine. And now Nintendo is really into Nintendo ID so we will have our stuff on account.

  • RyuNoHadouken

ill get it when its ten bucks

    • Christopher Acuna

dont be lame. It’s worth every penny as is.

      • RyuNoHadouken

        you must be a teenager

        • Tim van Broekhoven

          Why that?

          • Pikachief

Apparently because he wants to pay full price for a product. I also believe he’s implying that makes him immature.

It could also just be because he used the word “lame” in the context that he did.

Which is exactly what RyuNoHadouken is being πŸ˜›

          • Tim van Broekhoven

Ok, but I don’t get why only a teenager would pay full priced games…

          • RyuNoHadouken

he has you going down the wrong path…dont listen to him

          • Tim van Broekhoven

Ok then explain to me what you meant… Oh well, never mind. This is going nowhere…

        • Christopher Acuna

          Don’t be ignorant.

          • RyuNoHadouken

    • Ducked

You don’t know real cartoons do you?

      • RyuNoHadouken

you probably werent even born when Ducktales came out…go play COD youngster

        • Ducked

Here we go, the CoD stereotype. Obviously you don’t play many games either if that’s the only game you can think of.

  • Fred

I won’t buy the disc, but I might get the digital copy

  • mike

I bought the digital version and i think its worth the current price, the remaster is a great touch to an old game. games that are less than a gig i download. Larger games i have on disc.

  • Daniel Gonzalez

I think most of us knew this would happen. I felt the same way when Telltales’ The Walking Dead game hit retail stores. Nothing new.

  • Rick Valenta

Nice. Will pick up the hard copy

  • Jon

I was going to download this next week after I get paid…… do i get it retail or download….. I am a sucker for boxed versions…. lol

  • Mochlum

Cool, glad I holded out on buying this.

  • JBeauregard

I like physical copies. This seals the deal for me.

  • Ernie Sanguyo

that’s awesome.. I didn’t get to buy it since i want physical copy πŸ™‚

  • Arthur Jarret

If I knew this was coming, I would have waited for a retail version.

At least with walking dead it was expected – as sam ‘n max and back to the future got discs too (although I’m unsure if tales from monkey island and strongbad ever did) – I didn’t expect Back to the future retail, though – so got it on PSN too

On the other hand, this disc might not even make it to europe.

  • Wiiluigi

    Thank god I waited.

  • Justin Gray

I think this is a great idea since most people aren’t buying download games for people over the holidays but are buying stuff that pops out on the shelf at the stores. A box with colorful artwork on it will sell very well at $20

  • Derk

Since when do retail versions cost more than digital copies? Its a good thing, but I am just saying…

    • C4

Usually when it’s no “real” retail release. Ducktales was planned for download and the price was set accordingly. Making it retail makes it more expensive (production, transport, dealer gets some money) . Similar to Super Luigi U.

  • Luffy

yes! I was waiting before buying that game for that reason! I knew it would come to retail πŸ™‚

  • YogiGRB

Already have it, would have preferred the box though

  • Yess!! o/ Worth the wait. =]

  • Shigeru Miyamoto

    damn… wish i waited. ugh!!!!!!!!

  • Ducked

    Holy cheeseballs I’m buying this!!!!

  • Good thing I didn’t get the download version. I might get the retail.

  • Deezy

I dont even feel like commenting… too many downvotes on here within 2 days got me feelin like Eminem when he released his first album πŸ™

    • Shigeru Miyamoto

are you saying you “just don’t give a f#%k?”

      • Deezy

lol! in a subtle way I think I am. Not at the game tho, but at the downvotes I’ve been receiving. I haven’t trolled either, just shared opinions.

  • Majora’s Mask

I prefer disc edition i dont know why you would buy anything but animal crossing new leaf digitally

  • TheBrainJemin

Rovio, take notes: this is how you release games that aren’t supposed to be priced at $30s. (Angry Birds Trilogy *cough* *cough*)

  • Jonathan Dogey

I’ll buy it if it comes with something special the digital download does not
