A 3D indie platformer, titled A Hat in Time, may be headed to the Wii U eShop.

The game is already set for release on Windows and Mac; but, in an interview, developer Jonas Kærlev said:

Without making any promises, I think it will be likely that the game ends up on Wii U. I have been in touch with a publisher that is interested in putting it on that console, and I’d be more than interested in seeing that happen!

Taking pages from games like Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Kazooie and Conker’s Bad Fur Day, A Hat in Time stars the Hat Kid, a young girl who fights baddies and solves mysteries. Oh, and she travels through time too.

As if that wasn’t enough, the game features a cel-shaded art style not unlike that in The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker.

A Hat in Time is developed by Mecha the Slag, which promises at least 5 hours of gameplay in five unique worlds. Full release is set for the fourth quarter of this year.

What are your first impressions from this new 3D platformer? Would you like to see it on the Wii U eShop?

  • RyuNoHadouken

  • AAAkabob

Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Kazooie and Conker’s Bad Fur Day?  If it’s even half as good as any of those games it’s something worth watching.

  • DemonRoach

  • Nathan Ostroski

It’s hard to NOT buy something on the eShop.  If Nintendo puts it there, I’ll probably buy it!!!

  • This baby game (you can’t deny it) is a perfect fit for any Nintendo system!

    • Srpg2ishere

You seem like the type of person who only plays Mature games. Tell me how this is a baby game? The graphics? The music? WHAT? Let me ask you a question Donaald. Who’s side are you on? I keep seeing you trolling on this site but as I’ve noticed you come here pretty often. Are you supporting Nintendo? Against Nintendo? I’m curious..

      •  I am not on Nintenedo’s side or anyone’s side.  Whoever gives the people what they want is the side I am on.  Nintendo is about having a baby game machine while the others are more mature or neutral.

        • Srpg2ishere

You gotta wait till the future you’ll see. 😉

  • Johny
