Disney Infinity was announced yesterday and today the pricing details for the starter pack and play sets have been detailed. The starter pack will begin at $74.99 when the game debuts in June. The three starter characters that will come in this set include Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles, and Sully from Monsters University.

The 20 figures that launch with the game will have their own associated play set. These sets will include new gameplay worlds and stories that are linked to the characters. Play sets are priced at $34.99, while power disc bundles that provide power-ups for characters will be priced at $4.99 each. What do you think of Disney’s new attempt at a Skylander’s like game world?

Just for comparison, does anyone know about how much Skylanders stuff goes for? To me this seems crazy expensive.

    • Skylanders Giants retails for $75 for whatever starter pack, but the playsets only go for $25. You can buy individual figures for $10. Disney makes no mention of individual figure prices.

Ah, thank you. =) I hope the Wii U version takes advantage of the GamePad’s NFC; it seems silly not to.

      • They have and its $13 and the size of characters range and they are of better quality than skylanders.

  •  On another site, individual figures were listed as being about $12. Though I think the $2 extra is worth it given the early pics of the figures show a higher level of detail then the Skylanders. Problem for the rest of the pricing is we have no images on the boosters, play sets, etc. to know how much more or less we’re getting in comparison to the Skylander versions so we’ll have to wait and see.

    I think it’s brilliant and will be a cash-cow for Disney.  A giant cash-cow

So it’s basically Disney Skylanders, huh?

I’m anxious about this coming to the new Smash Bros. If they do introduce buyable figures it better be just for DLC that is made AFTER the game is released. I’ve always wanted to have a display full of smash bros trophies and was disappointed when no company has made replicas.

Don’t worry. Nintendo has stated multiple times that the only DLC they’ll make is the kind that’s made AFTER the game is released.
