Devil’s Third has been the source of a surprising amount of controversy as of late, as Nintendo of America had been quiet about the game since E3. We finally got official word that the game is coming to North America, but previews of the Japanese version have left some gamers feeling tepid about buying the game. The game’s creator Tomonobu Itagaki took to Facebook to defend the game to fans.

Itagaki hasn’t stopped posting on Facebook since then, confirming that the Wii U version will not have cross-platform multiplayer with the free-to-play PC version. According to Itagaki, the different control scheme would make such cross-platform play unfair.

The online versus play is not compatible between Wii U and PCs. ‘Cuz I think you know that’s non sense. If control devises differs, then it’s not fair.

This won’t affect fans who planned to get the game on Wii U anyway, but the free-to-play PC version could snipe Wii U sales for those who also own a gaming PC. What do you think? Is this a good decision?

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
