After being quiet about DLC for the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham Origins since the announcement of the game, Warner Bros. Interactive has finally confirmed that the Deathstroke downloadable content being offered as a pre-order bonus by some outlets will be available for Wii U owners.

When originally asked whether Wii U owners would receive the DLC, Warner Bros. was quiet on the matter, leading many to believe they planned on ditching DLC on the console yet again. It’s great to see Warner Bros. offer DLC to Wii U owners, putting them on equal footing with the other consoles.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be available on October 25th.

  • Now if we could just get that Injustice DLC… I know they said this summer, but hey. It’s summer

    • Nintyfan

Well actually I was afraid they were gonna half-ass it.

Well I said (and agree with the peeps at WiiUDaily) this whole thing in my game-review of Injustice: Gods Among US about how I am tired of not getting the pre-order DLC options, or just the DLC options and it seems it is always and excuse for this when it comes to Nintendo consoles. Also, stated many times over that most are not dumb gamer’s on any console and why would we buy the U’s version if we know we’re not getting the DLC options, either we would buy the game on another console or we wouldn’t buy the game at all. By doing this only hurts the Nintendo owners and then these 3rd party companies don’t see a good amount of sales on the U, but if these same 3rd party Developers put out all the same DLC on all the consoles I have no doubt more U owners would buy that game and its DLC on/for the U. I also mentioned in my AC3 DLC review how we should buy the DLC we do get because it shows that we appreciate and will buy the quality DLC that comes to the U versions of games.

I truly hope this pre-order DLC the U gets as well as the DLC of IGAU, I will definitely pick them up and look forward to more 3rd party Devs taking the lead and just porting over the DLC to give us the same chance to buy it. Again you have to spend money to make money and I do believe Nintendo needs to step up and announce they want all the DLC options from all 3rd party games to be allowed on their console as well.

If you want check out those game-reviews I do have written reviews here on the WiiU Daily forums and on my youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/SBLOCKgaming and the review links are IGAU review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpltgkCiE1c and AC3 DLC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jqmk2Ul0w78

    • everyone

I think I got an update for Injustice tonight. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Edit: DLC just active now. 4.99 for each character.

      • hrm. I could pick one up with my DDP money

    • HotInEER

      It’s availalbe now.

  • Guest

Will definitely be picking this one up now! Thank you Warner Bros!

  • XroyD

At least some good news. It seems like everybody (3rd party) is changing their opinion of the Wii U.

    • not EVERYBODY, but its getting there 🙂

      • XroyD

        Yeah, at least some…

    • I hope this trend continues and if Nintendo works hard and delivers their top games and works with the 3rd parties it should gradually improve. There will always be some 3rd party companies that will stick up their nose to Nintendo and deliver gimped games and cry and blame Nintendo for their poor releases but I hope that most will realize that if they offer the same game and put the effort into making their game take advantage of the Wii U’s unique features the game will sell better. They also need to release their cross platform games at the same time because if they delay the Nintendo version many people with other consoles or PC will not wait. I actually regret not getting Batman Arkham City for the Wii U and I have it on my 360 but at the time the Wii U was not out yet and since I liked Arkham Asylum so much I wanted Arkham City right away.

      • XroyD

Nintendo is in a little bit of a roll here, New Super Luigi U (great game), now some pretty good news, apparently COD Ghosts is coming and EA, like always, you know… Agree with that they need to release the cross platforms at the same time.

        • DragonSilths

COD Ghosts coming to Wii U!!! Oh thank the lord. Seriously COD + Nintendo = BAD.

          • XroyD

            What do you mean bad???

          • iceazeama

it will end up helping ninendo idiot. if the shitty game is on other systems why shouldnt it go on ninendo too???? its a big game regardless and is on other platforms, it helps the other platforms, why not the wii u?????

          • DragonSilths

Oh it’ll help Nintendo abit in sales, though most money from COD goes to Activision, Treyarch or Infinity Ward. But COD CRIPPLES the Nintendo community. So is that a fair trade off?Me and you don’t get along on MyNintendoNews, we wont here either. So if you wish to argue with me know that it will result in a pointless argument where we both cant be the bigger man and keep our mouths shut for once.

  • Teves153

    Hell to the YEAH!!!!! 😀

  • Super Buu

  • Nintedward

Sick and tired of seeing back and fourth news story’s lol…

EA says frosbite doesn’t , EA says Frostbite had problems , EA says they could put frostbite on Wiiu , blah blah blah

Deathstroke DLC not coming to Wiiu ? , Dealthstroke DLC appears not to be coming to Wiiu , Deathstroke DLC confirmed for Wiiu ?

CoD ghosts coming to Wiiu ? , CoD ghosts skipping Wiiu ? CoD ghosts listed by Mongolian retailer ? CoD ghosts is kinda coming to Wiiu : CoD dev

Dev says Wiiu is underpowered , Dev says GPU is several generations ahead , Wiiu is this , Wiiu is that…..

What I would do for a solid news story…. xD

    • XroyD

At least at the end is good news for wii U. lol

    • You’re not the only one. I get tired of having to write about companies not knowing whether or not they’re going to support the Wii U. Especially EA’s whole saga.

      • Nintedward

It’s nothing against you or this site 🙂 it’s the whole internet!!!! And it’s the fault of misleading devs and rumor spreaders…

      • John Raybell

lol yeah i bet, I could see how it could get very tiring

    • The Clockwork Being

The funny thing about these news is the other game sites. Go on IGN they are so bias. The publish and article about the Nintendo not getting Wiiu.com but no article about Frosbite actually working on the Wiiu

      • Nintyfan

It’s obvious too because practically every other site has it.

      • XroyD

That’s because that site is full of sony Drones/Ponies!

      • The True Gamer

This is because most websites don’t really consider the Wii U next gen. It is, but now with the Ouya, their seems to be tiers of competitors for consoles.

    • Archiq09

I think they believe if they help wii u they will have a big medal (for their) xD
just a joke … bad or good anyway xD

    • DragonSilths

You just need to know who to listen to. Shin En for example knows their shit. Monolith Soft knows their shit. Miyamoto/Sakurai know their shit. Capcom knows their shit. Theres a few others.

    • Here’s a solid story for you: I’M GOING TO MAKE MY DEBUT IN SUPER SMASH BROS!!!

  • XroyD
    • John Raybell

its funny people doubt this, its freaking call of duty, remember it on the ds? yep it was there, and the wii yep there too, and wiiu, trust me its coming, lol

      • XroyD

        LOL! yes you’re right!

      • DragonSilths

COD is on everything its a fucking virus that plaques the gaming industry. It should NEVER have touched any Nintendo system. Be in denial if you want but COD has heavily damaged the quality of the gaming industry in the 7th gen. Its like the Flood from Halo. A Halo Ring needs to be activated to eradicate it. COD needs to die and NEVER RETURN. If COD continues to remain on Wii U, Nintendo and its fans will get corrupted. Then its only a matter of time till every gamer is an arrogant asshole, Nintendo’s fans will become no different then Xbots or Sony Drones.

        • greengecko007

So because you personally don’t like something the entire franchise needs to die? How stuck up can you be? If you don’t like something, fine, get over it and let the people who DO enjoy it continue to do so.

          • DragonSilths

Dude even the guy who CREATED COD has publicly said HE WANTS HIS OWN NEXT CREATION TO KILL COD. He is disgusted with the way it is. I don’t give a shit about you or any other brain cell lacking ape. I don’t know a SINGLE PERSON in real life that respects COD, plays COD, likes COD, or even knows anyone else that likes it. ITS SHIT. Yah its popular but so what. Popular doesn’t equal good automatically.

        • The True Gamer

Most Nintendo fans are so biased they can’t see anything wrong with Nintendo, I don’t think adding COD will do anything but help the Wii U.

          • BLACKendTiamat

FPS’s are oversaturated at the moment.

even im wore out from playing them lol. theyre all starting to blend together.

            Im a huge FPS fan.

they need to bring back Survival horror. ZombiU did that for the time i spent playing it. dying on Survival mode with 10k points is almost as sad as dying on Hardcore Hell Difficulty in Diablo 2 lol.

          • The True Gamer

I WAS a huge FPS fan. I started COD during COD 5, and after COD Blops 2, I was hated all fps games except halo 4. Never played ZombieU though. Luckily enough, many open world games seem to be coming, so the whole FPS craze will hopefully end soon

          • DragonSilths

Well that isn’t me. I may like Nintendo’s games. But business wise and behind the scenes they have been making some mistakes lately and I call them out on that.

        • BLACKendTiamat

the XB1 Halo Ring needs to be activated ;P

  • Awesome.. After playing Batman Arkham City on the Wii U with the Gamepad I wanted to get Arkham Origins for the Wii U for a similar experience. Glad I have this pre-ordered for the Wii U

  • John Raybell

Awesome, need more support for dlc, cool cool

  • lonewolf88

    pre ordered.

  • Ducked

Why does the Wii U have to be the last console to get anything confirmed? I’m talking about other games.

    • The True Gamer

It’s because Nintendo lost respect from the gaming community. Do they deserve respect. Yes. But, Nintendo games are rather rare. They come a couple times a generation, as opposed to many games that are incredible for other consoles.

      • Ducked

I really hope the Wii U dominates in sales this fall. I wanna see these developers cry themselves asleep.

        • The True Gamer

Sorry. Ain’t gonna happen. Next year at the end of the year? Maybe. This years gonna be massive for Xbox One and Ps4. There is a lot of launch titles, and the best any game console has ever seen. I have no doubt that the Wii U will pick up sales in a couple years though. Maybe then their will be third parties that want to develop for Wii U.

          • Quicksilver88

I am not so sure as the launch titles are not that numerous or exciting……some of them have already been pushed back to launch window and not launch…..a lot of the other titles will be on all systems….like all Ubis big titles, most of EAs big stuff and Activision, Warner as well. I think U underestimate how bad the economy is in the US and how many people will be content to plat their COD on their ps360s or get new Sony stuff like beyond two souls, gt6. If WiiU gets new bundles with agressive pricing it could again be the ‘family’ system as $300 forma pro bundle will be easier to swallow for many parents than $500-600 for ps4/xbone…..for sure WiiU will have way more quality and budget titles this xmas than the other 2.

          • The True Gamer

Please..I want everybody to stop calling the Xbox one the xbone…that term exists only because of the DRM policies. But yeah…I forgot about the economy. Many people I know are buying the new consoles, but their all big gamers. Very few people will buy Xbox One and PS4 who aren’t big gamers. Wii U will have all Nintendo fans and any kids who want a new game console…now Nintendo just needs to invest into differentiating the Wii and the Wii U.

          • Quicksilver88

As stated I am not an M$ hater, I just find the name/term funny. I have actually made quite a good living off of the M$ world on the PC side being a consultant and systems engineer, and then later started a company offering services using their HyperV virtualization technology. I do think the name is a bit confusing but apparently they and Ninetndo need better marketing teams to help with naming conventions. In the long run I think all these new systems will do fine, the ‘children’ on here really know little about how console sales work and that it is more a marathon than a sprint, that is why 3DS slow start or WiiU slow start mean little. It has been more the norm than the exception lately with PSP, PS3, and Vita all havig very slow starts. Thankfully Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are not as squeemish as the fanboys and trolls….lol. Even with all the 3rd party woes for WiiU this holiday does not look bad as WiiU is getting all the major Ubi titles, COD, Batman, Disney Infinity, Skylanders, plus exlusives like W101 and two Sonic games. Add that to the Nintendo titles and the sky isn’t falling. I just hope the Ubi titles do well enough to see more support next year….I’ll do my part buying SC and WD as long as they turn out to be good games!

          • Ducked

No one knows that for sure. Xbox One won’t sell at all in Japan. The PS4 will be hard to compete with, but Nintendo is getting Donkey Kong, Mario, and Zelda all for the fall. Plus Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros comes out in first half of 2014. The Wii U will also have Black Friday specials in the US, helping boost sales. So don’t count out the Wii U in the early time.

          • The True Gamer

While Mario kart is coming out the first half of 2014, smash bros hasn’t been confirmed and probably isn’t. Most Nintendo fans who aren’t entirely devoted to it won’t be buying a Wii U for Mario, Donkey Kong, or Zelda because each of those games is very much similar, (and in Zelda’s case a remake) to predecessors. The gaming community is larger for Xbox 360 and PS3 than Wii or Wii U, and the launch titles for Xbox One and PS4 are actually big series that have many fans.

          • Ducked

You have a good point, but are Nintendo fans really going to keep wanting to play there Wii? The Wii is outdated, and I’m sure Nintendo fans will be more than happy to upgrade to a Wii U. Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Pikmin 3 are great games to add to the library. And it’ll take longer for Sony and Microsoft fans to upgrade to next gen then people think. The Xbox One and PS4 doesn’t have any “Must Buy” games to pay $500, or $400. I just think it’s going either way.

          • The True Gamer

Any Nintendo fan that plans on buying a Wii U will probably buy a Wii U is winter. I expect it to outsell all other eighth gen consoles for a year, until the must buy games (mainly just Halo, because that’s about it for Xbox or Sony) release. I would hope that Nintendo gets fans of Pokemon to buy a Wii U by breaking tradition and releasing a full Pokemon game for Wii U. Sure, its not gonna happen, but cash grab or not, I’d buy the game and a Wii U for it.

          • Ice Climbers

I don’t think PS4 and Xbox One are gonna sell as well as people think. I believe that Wii U will sell pretty well this fall. The economy in the US is absolute crap right now. One thing people forget is that PS4 and Xbox One are brand new systems, so they will remain full price throughout the holiday season. Wii U on the other hand will be a year old, meaning there will be some killer deals for Black Friday and the rest of the season. Nintendo just needs to release some sweet bundles (a Zelda bundle, a Mario bundle, and a Wii Party U bundle), and the system will sell. Most people are gonna walk into a store and see the Wii U for as cheap as $200, if not less, compared to $400 for PS4 and $500 for Xbox One.

Some proper advertising of games like Super Mario 3D World, DKC Tropical Freeze, and Sonic Lost World would do the Wii U wonders.

          • The True Gamer

A Wii U wouldn’t be $200 with a gamepad. The gamepad cost $180 to manufacture itself. If Nintendo dropped the gamepad, sure. But otherwise, people walk into a store and don’t realize the Wii U is a new game console. People I talk to (even gamers) don’t know (or care) that its a new game console. $399 is only $50 more than a Wii U, and has 4 times the RAM, and more than 400GB more of hard drive space. Most gamers who aren’t biased to Nintendo already won’t care that a new Donkey Kong game is releasing when a new Forza is on the other console

          • Ducked

Yeah I’d love to see a Pokemon Stadium game on the Wii U

        • NkoSekirei

it will its got a awsome lineup of games coming out starting in august

  • uPadWatcher

It’s great to see WB Games President Martin Tremblay still believes in U.

  • therealruben1

  • Agent721

Awesome! Wii U version it is.

  • Veries Seals

Thank you WB. you guys are champs, Thats all we want. Wii U owners to be equals and well as we should be. We have a powerful fun console that can actually compete now. Give us the games and we will show you the moneyyyyyyyyy!

  • YayGs

They were probably making sure that the DLC was working properly before confirming it. If I have the money I’ll reserve and pick this game up on day 1, even though it’s not from Rocksteady.

  • JeanPaul Badjo

Getting this game now. Deathstroke is one of my favorite DC characters

    • NkoSekirei

ive alrdy preorder it and along with 6 others games like rayman, assassin creed 4,sonic lost world, splinter cell blacklist, watch dogs and wind waker so im set for the rest of this year

  • Baconfat23

    Great news for a Batman/DC fanboy! 😀
I’m still not going to preorder it (I don’t do preorders) and, like Arkham City, the DLC should soon be available after a while. So excited for this game and the other Arkham game Kevin Conroy hinted at.

The funny thing is this series turned me into a Batman fanboy. I’ll never forget playing Arkham Asylum for ages.

  • Dez

    How I hate DLC.

Long gone are the days when developers used to patch their games now a patch requires you pay a fee for some minor content and bug fixes if that. DLC isn’t worth it, I’m glad some studios like CD Projeckt: RED agree. There is also Blizzard which still does patching rather than DLC. Now if only Nintendo releases bug fixing patches then it would be ideal.

  • shaw98

I’m glad to see there treating us like equals.

  • Luke Wilson

I will purchasing this DLC to support the wiiu

  • Sam

Wait what if you already preordered it? Will you still get it?
