It seems like just about every few days there is a new indie developer expressing interest in the Wii U platform. Several Kickstarters projects have said yes to the Wii U, while some of them were successful and some weren’t. Other games like CrossCode have been in long-time PC development, but their creator thinks the Wii U could be the perfect home for the title on consoles.

Radical Fish Games have stated that the game is built in HTML5, which would allow for easy porting to the Wii U thanks to Nintendo’s Web Framework. The game would certainly be a hit with retro gamers that tend to enjoy the Virtual Console on Nintendo products as well. If you’re interested in trying out the current demo for the title, you can find it here, or check out the trailer below and let us know what you think about the game and if you’d like to see it on the Wii U eventually.

Very cool! Will be looking forward to this coming to the Wii U!!

  • Robknoxious1

Bring it on. I’m tired of seeing the same handful of indie games in the eShop.

  • Wayne Beck

This game looks pretty awesome. I would certainly buy it on my Wii U.

    • Laud

The Wii U will definitely get a lot of indie support and since Nintendo is well known for RPGs maybe we’ll get all the good indie RPGs.

Hell, I’m trying to make one right now. 😛

Maybe someday I’ll be able to release it on a Nintendo console like I’ve always wanted.

      • Good luck wish you the best of luck getting your game on a nintendo console 🙂

      • Wayne Beck

I dabble in Indie Development myself. I am very excited that Nintendo dropped it’s office requirement. Sadly, I’d have to quit my job before I could release anything. =(

      • Adrian

Nintendo is well known for RPGs?

        • Dominic Coradazzi

          I hope you’re kidding
…if not, you may want to check into it (Chrono Trigger, FF1-6, Super Mario RPG, Golden Sun, Earthbound, etc.)

          • Adrian

I was assuming he wasn’t talking about things that came out over 10 years ago. Of course I played all those, but saying “nintendo is known for RPGs” implies that it is currently known for RPGs. That’s why I am asking.

        • greengecko007

Pokemon. Each game sells millions every year, with games releasing multiple times a year. One of THE MOST successful RPGs, and it belongs to Nintendo.

          • Adrian

While I did Love red, yellow, blue, gold, and silver…I’ve lost interest since. I just have not heard about Nintendo being celebrated for its RPGS any time in the new millenium.

          • greengecko007

Well, if you’ve lost interest, I can understand that you wouldn’t be paying attention to new releases and their successes.

            As of April 10th, 2013

Pokemon is actually the 2nd best selling Video game franchise with around 275 million copies sold total, which takes a back seat only to Mario’s 446 million copies sold. It beats CoDs 100 million.

          • Arthur Jarret

I did, even if not counting Pokemon: Dragon quest, Xenoblade, Last story, Opoona, Mario & Luigi, Paper Mario, Monster Hunter, SMT main series (strange journey DS exclusive), SMT Devil Survivor, Etrian Odyssey

Of course, no Fallout, Elder scrolls, Ni no Kuni – not much Tales of…, final fantasy (just some awesome DS remakes and bad crystal chronicle sequels) etc does hurt their reputation a little compared to the 90s.

      • Cubester_64

        Best of luck

  • Ray01x

I love the Epic Music for the trailer lol.
This is definetly something I would buy for the Wii U. 😛

    • Константин Лесовой

FYI, it’s world of warcraft old login music. Used to listen it for hours. Nostalgia 😀

  • greengecko007

Compared to some of the more generic Indie platformer games on the Wii U, this looks interesting. I’d definitely buy this if/when it comes to the Wii U, along with Two Brothers.

  • The more rpg and jrpg games that come to the wii u will in the end make my buy a wii u. Think nintendo should sell a pack with pro controler only to get more people to get the console cheaper now and buy tablet controler later.

    • routerbad

That… doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. The entire system is based on the use of the gamepad, selling an official SKU sans gamepad would make developers question forcing those controls or features in game, and would force every single developer to include an “off-tv” function. LEGO City would be unplayable.

    • Adrian

I also am looking for more RPG and JRPGS….but omitting the tablet controller from the console purchase would be completely destroy the Wii U tablet controller potential. Consumers will not readily go out and buy a $150 controller, therefor developers will not utilize the tablet controller in game functionality. Also, if you have never held a tablet controller, it actually feels surprisingly normal. And the TABLET CONTROLLER CAN DO EVERYTHING THE PRO CONTROLLER CAN DO AND MORE. Just in case people don’t realize this.

  • Link Slayer

Awesome I love old school rpgs

  • Varnuunas

Runescape is going from Java to HTML5. Will it run on Wii U internet browser?

  • $41809923

  • RyuNoHadouken

yay, more 16 bit eshop games!!!! (sarcasm)

  • brian murphy

id like to see the people that were making there own games for the dreamcast try to get together and make some games for the wii u but nintendo would have to have an indie section for short game of half way made games like on xbox 360 cause i know if you plan on making a game for nintendo now it has to be a good quality solid game just charge a small price it may get alot of people involved in wanting to make games might actually see some good ones

  • JBeauregard

  • Jeffery02

This is great! The game looks awesome AND it expands the Wii U’s library with something that isn’t shovelware. I look forward to it.

  • Dominic Coradazzi

Well it certainly has my attention
I like how you can either take direct shots or let your shot bounce around for awesome puzzles and such

  • tronic307

    My Saturn is jealous.

  • Michael Jurado

Bring it to the wii u and i’ll gladly buy it 🙂

  • C.S. Bailey

Could only make it to the 2 minute mark…… The art style combined with the font used had me thinking about ChronoTrigger the entire time! Would definitely pick this up from the eShop.

  • Jannie

Let this game come to the Wii U, it looks awesome.

  • Andrew W Garttmeyer

Isn’t that music from the WoW loading screen?

  • TheLast

    Not bad. :[

  • Just played the demo. For the right price, i will definitely pick it up
