Over the weekend we told you that developer Criterion had no plans to bring Need For Speed: Most Wanted DLC packs to the Wii U version of the game. However, according to a recent conversation between a developer and a fan, it could be possible if enough fan support is seen for the game. You can see the tweet in the image below: It should be noted that the Wii U version of the game comes with the Ultimate Speed DLC as part of the standard package, but there are three other DLC packs that won’t be released in it, including the Terminal Velocity, Movie Legends and Heroes DLC packs. It’s interesting to see developers flat out admit that they won’t put extra effort into bringing their product to the platform, but that’s been expected for some time. Developers don’t want to put in extra work to achieve mediocre sales on the console and most gamers aren’t willing to plop down $350 until something that interests them comes out. Hopefully Nintendo can resolve these problems quickly so the Wii U will stop suffering. So…yep. angel just hold on when the ps4 and new xbox comes out, the sells are going to be shittier then developers are going to prefer the last gen and also bringing games to wii u with dlc. they would probably develop the same graphics to both consoles, so people would not really care about the next gen until they stop developing for the xbox 360 and ps3 and feel force to buy the new gen but it wont happen fast enough because of the economy, i know i wont be buying right away if too expensive then ill wait for price drop or a game that really interest me and buy after i am done with the semester of college Matthewmc685 Being a Nintendo fan (not to be confused with a fanboy) is someone that can look at the good and the bad. Wayne Beck How does it not make sense to hold off on creating new content if they don’t even know if the game will sell yet? Day 1 DLC is the worst price gouge ever. It’s a shame too, BLOPS2 is way better on Wii U then everything but PC.. djvalbnc Wii U kicks ass i don’t know what your problem is guys! gobrowniesgo Yes! lt’s awesome! l can’t even play my 360 b/c the Wii U spoiled me..typed by Wii U’s Gamepad Ibi Salmon Wii U fans, you want third-party games to come to the Wii U? You want to show developers and publishers that the Wii U is a console worth developing games for? Well, here’s your chance. If sales of this game on the Wii U are met, things could change for the better for the system. Show then that the Wii U is a console that can last a generation. Buy this game for the Wii U and developers and publishers might look at the Wii U in a different light. George Kelly Everybody with a Wii U (that actually want the game) needs to buy it on the Origin website now! It only cost 29.99! BuckStud First, why would anyone down vote George Kelly’s comment? Second, I bought it off Origin, and It’s the retail packed version. They have a bunch of games for all the systems on sale. I’m not a big fan of Origin, but as long as I get my game for $29.99, I’m happy. NkoSekirei did u here origin got hacked and if origin did merge with nintendo network we would of got screwed but thankfully we dodge a bullet Michael Durkopp Wait…THAT WAS REAL!!! CRAP!!! I thought that was spam..I just got the game yesterday at best buy for $60. Though they said it was their last copy. so thats good news Ibi Salmon That’s interesting. You can support the game and save money. Who’s going to argue with that? Steven Scott I just bought it thanks for the notice I wold have paid twice as much Fred half off $30 http://store.origin.com/store/ea/en_US/pd/productID.251734800/ gobrowniesgo I like the price but l thnk it’s bad for the Devs.. Wonder how much of that 30 they get.. Mario WIIU ROCKS!!!! NkoSekirei guess wat wen i tried to get a copy of need for speed at gamestop they completely sold out and i order mine at the store should be coming to my house in about 5 days or so but its worth it and got monster hunter ultimate today and picking up lego city tomorrow Ibi Salmon Glad to hear it! Nintedward well , I’m buying it ! Korey Puliyanda I am done reading this terrible website Saul Rivera Haha you know I had those exact thoughts when I read “Hopefully Nintendo can resolve these problems quickly so the Wii U will stop suffering”…it’s like they think we haven’t read it enough in all their articles…but it’s their jobs to get us fighting each other..debating who is a fanboy and who is a troll =_= ps4ultimania i think it informs well though RyuNoHadouken i ordered mine this morning from the Origin website….$29.99 baby!!!! kevin Ill be buying this game but probably not for a couple of months. Have 3 other games I need to finish first. Even if every wiiu owner bought this bame it would be a mill. but of course they will be lucky to see 20% of the total wiiu people buying a game. That is 200k. We just need more time and developers taking a chance with wiiu to get there. disqus_c39xUtm3WM you can purchase this game on EA origin website for 29 bucks and free shipping Zelly Jeffers “Simple as that.” So… arrogant. redd214 How is that arrogant? He is just being direct. Zelly Jeffers There’s such a thing as diplomacy. Especially when you want people to give you their money. That sentence was unnecessary to an already direct (and seemingly factual) response. redd214 Your explanation didn’t really clear up your stance but ok. Hope you weren’t too put off by his “arrogance” and you check out the game. It’s a blast!! Zelly Jeffers I just may do so. Simple as that. redd214 Hahaha well played lol!!! greengecko007 LOLOLOLOLOLOL is what you meant. redd214 No need for such an angry response, relax. I didn’t find his comment out of line personally if others did, thats cool. Was just questioning thats all. Nothing trollish or rude in my posts I don’t believe. Take it easy mate 😀 greengecko007 I thought I changed it so stealthily. But it appears you saw it before it took affect? Anyways, I’m man enough to say that I completely missunderstood what was going on in my hyper active state. Hence why my post now looks a bit ridiculous. redd214 No worries man, happens to the best of us! But anyways, back on track arrogant, condescending or whatever you wanna call it, trust me dont let itstop you from picking this game up. I have it on the ps3 with all the dlc and its great fun! The more who experience it the better! ECM It’s a condescending remark, but whatever. Zelly Jeffers Thank you! Condescending! That’s really what I should have used. It’s exactly that. Chances are, my boyfriend will snag it from the eShop. I’ve been doing more than my bit to support third party games on the Wii U. In fact, I think the only first party title I have so far is Nintendo Land, and it came with the system. I’ve spent well over $100 the last couple days alone on new third party games. Fred Will someone describe what the Need for Speed games are to me. I used to think they were just a racing game, then I heard a little more about them and thought maybe a little more like Grand Theft Auto, but then I saw the E(10+) rating and I know they can’t be that similar to Grand Theft Auto with that rating. I’m slightly interested in the game, but want to know more about it. Is it similar to Smuggler’s Run? If it’s completely it’s own thing what makes it unique? Thanks Levi Johansen OOOH!!! YES! This means they have made it possible to create DLC for the Wii U version. From the last article, I thought that they hadn’t made that feature for the Wii U version. Now we just have to buy it, play it, and demand it every day on the Miiverse community 😛 Wayne Beck Want this game, but it’s number four on my list of released titles right now. =/ D.M.T Go buy this game people. I don’t care if its cheaper on other consoles, this version is slightly different thanks to the Gamepad. AZHood Hopefully, the time will come soon when sales won’t dictate if a platform gets DLC for games or not. Realistically, I don’t see this happening for the first few months of the PS4/720, but it will be bad for gamers if a multi-platform title on Wii U gets DLC and the same titles on PS4/720 don’t get the same treatment because of an initial low install base. Right now, we have Wii U consutmers buying games in hopes of getting DLC, when preferably publishers/developers should offer the same treatment in order to get more costumers to buy. Activision fussed about poor Wii U BO2 sales, but they didn’t and still don’t offer the complete COD experience. ME3 on Wii U was DOA thanks to DLC being withheld as well as the ME trilogy being announced before the Wii U launch, yet not coming to the Wii U. Granted, I don’t think there would of been an huge surge in sales if EA and Activision gave Wii U titles the same treatment as PS3/360/PC, but more sales are better than few, so I say do what you can to maximize profit. Holyfire I thought NFS Most wanted looked terrible. Cant believe it would have sold on any system. Arcade physics and uber exotic cars flying indestrctabley through sky scrapers. Can anyone tell me if it was actually a decent game to begin with? As a bench mark for my tastes my fav NFS gamed were Underground 2, and the original NFS 2… Honestly if its games like Most Wanted that make PS3/360 sell, Im glad I didnt have those sad systems gobrowniesgo Well, The handling is different and the graphix are way better..But it’s like NFS Carbon mixed with Burnout P.C.. It’s fun and you get to play with the Nintendo community.. val berger you obviously shouldn’t expect a racing sim. it’s a real arcade racer from the creators of the burnout series and just feels like a successor of burnout paradise. open world racing, collecting nitro by doing illegal/dangerous stuff and so on. if you’re digging that, you’ll love that game. I do 🙂 ludist210 I bought it at Origin this morning. $29.99 (plus $2.40 sales tax) with free shipping for a brand new game? Sold. Bob Wilkerson Ok that is more reasonable than a flat NO there will be no DLC. I am tempted to re-purchase this game on the Wii U even though I have it for the 360 because the Co-op play looks interesting. Maybe I can train my wife to help me out using the Gamepad David Not a fan of racing games. That being said, I would agree that the Wii U version is the “best” console version of the game. I can argue that my high-end gaming PC with my GeForce GTX 580 can max out this game at 1920×1080 resolution @ 60 FPS if i wanted. However, these types of games are not worth a place on my PC’s hard drive. If you like the game, support it. Johny I support the wii u. i’ll most likely buy it. and im VERY satisfied with how they improved the game by including much better pc like textures and better graphics 🙂 just one more game that shows that wii u is more powerfull than the current generation , and developers KNOW it ^^ sithWiiU Wait until PS4 & Nextbox release. By then, Nintendrones will be back to saying, “Graphics don’t matter!” Hypocrites. Johny umm no. graphics are important… but better graphics dont necessarily mean a better game. the top priority is of course how the game plays. idk whats your problem… its just pathetic how you nintendo haters actually go on a wii u community website with the sole reason to hate on it. and yeah.. hahaha hypocrites ? us nintendo fans ?… you seriously see the sony fans (microsoft kinda too) and say WE’re hypocrites ? lol Colin Parks Im buying and i have it on my ps3, criterions efforts deserve my money uPadWatcher You’re in the wrong site, Colin Powerless. Petri Wut? Isn’t he basically saying that he’s willing to buy it for Wii U, even though he has it on PS3? I’d say he’s on the right site? Johny exactly . their support and efforts for the wii u must not go by unnoticed DemonRoach 30 bucks on EA store now. Does anyone know what type of controllers is used for 2 player? Is it 2 wii motes, or 2 propads or 2 classic controllors…. uPadWatcher Either a Game Pad and one Wii controller… or a Game Pad and a Wii U Pro controller. gobrowniesgo You can use any controller, lncluding the wheel.. Petri Bought it, I hope Nintendo brings wheel support for Wii U, Logitech G27 or something would be nice gobrowniesgo lt has it..you can use what ever controller you want.. Petri I meant racing wheel set with pedals, those peripherals that use gyroscope are just silly. gobrowniesgo O I C.. hmm not sure..did they have that for the wii? Petri No, but I read that was because the USB system was different, hope they fixed that with wii u gobrowniesgo Yeah me too..I wonder where to go to find out.. Geoff Hammer I will purchase this game once it drops to $29.99 on the eShop. uPadWatcher Why don’t you purchase the game NOW for $29.99 at Origin’s website? Get your mind right and get over it! bryce59 Just bought it. add me bryce59 uPadWatcher At least there is hope. I’m buying Need for Speed: Most Wanted U this Friday at EA’s Origin shop site. $29.99 for a limited time is ultimately the greatest offer since Riccitiello steps down (rumor has it that he was fired) as CEO of Electronic Arts. My wallet and debit card will be raped first thing THIS FRIDAY morning! Guhtere But the DLC is on the internet. It’s not like in retail where you need to sell the game. It wouldn’t cost more just to port DLC from XBL or PSN. You would just need to make it compatible with the Wii U, then give Nintendo a little money to put it on there Eshop. Unless if I am wrong… Dallas Scott Cooper “… and most gamers aren’t willing to plop down $350 until something that interests them comes out.” You said in your last doomsday article that the Wii U might be overshadowed by PS4 and 720. So you expect gamers to plop well over $500 dollars on a new system with teething problems that they only know ten or so games for, over the Wii U which people already know the vast array of first party titles. Seriously, you guys get your logic messed up all the time here. Joey Perez hmmmm opinions are so negative on this site…. or logic is un used… developers only want to put efforts where there is room to make money.. by releasing this pack with all dlc minus new dlc … they are saying here play it.. do you love it? ok now we will give you are time … now that we see people buy we will make money so we will give you the extra content….. thats how money is viewed…. people do not realize u cant just port over every thing and each system has its own way to load n distribute DLC … its alot of work. TheBoldman67 Well I think it’s selling pretty well, I got it yesterday and as soon as I jumped online I was able to find lots of full matches. So, I think if the sales keep up we’ll be getting DLC, which I might actually buy, rather than “$15 dollars for 4 new maps! WHAT A DEAL!” Matt I’m picking it up today. The issue I think with Wii U in Aus is that stores like EB Games won’t get stock in unless you pre order. So there are many EB game stores that won’t advertise. jcnba28 BUY THIS GAME!! Metal_Man_v2 Makes perfect sense, supporting a game is a good way to get DLC. I hope that the people that buy this game do eventually have the option of purchasing the new add ons in the future. Gabe Hoffman You all know what to do than everyone ps4ultimania i was sold on this game any way it went Fred On sale now half off http://store.origin.com/store/ea/en_US/pd/productID.251734800/ Mario Will see if we can buy it. DemonRoach *bought it. 30 bucks too hard to let go. Also bought Darksiders 2 for 20bucks on amazon a few days ago 😛 gobrowniesgo Did you get Darksiders for the Wii U? DemonRoach Just got my DS II for Wii U yesterday. 20bucks new great price. Although the retail version has no nintendo club points…. gobrowniesgo Have you played it on another system? just wondering what the differences are. l have all the dlc on 360.. No. David Davis Well I just bought it off Orgin for $29.99, so there’s another copy sold. gobrowniesgo Anyone get the feeling that EA is throwing Criterion under the bus by selling thier new game for 50% off on it’s release date? val berger I play that game since yesterday and it totally rocks. I also have it here on PS3 and I can say it somehow seems to have a better framerate and wonderful textures but the most important thing: it’s crazy fun. The reason, why you should buy that game isn’t because of the DLC. It’s the opposite: the game itself. Electronic Arts always throws out amazingly needles DLC and if you go though the DLC available for Most Wanted, you hardly find anything worth your money. EA would’ve really deserved a punch in the face for that and I wish no one would buy their DLC again (at least as long as it’s not real DLC like additional Racing Tracks or Missions in other games) EA only throws out needles DLC to get some extra bucks from you and we shouldn’t support that. So the totally senseless DLC for Most Wanted shouldn’t be a reason to buy that game. It’s what Criterion originally created, that should get you to buy it as it’s one hell of a great racing game with tons, tons, tons of gaming and racing hours. Electronic Arts really deserved the downwfall, they’re currently experiencing as their customer policy just sucks. And with Sim City, they really got what they deserved as they ruined another game of a talented studio just with their avarice (and origin) val berger By the way, what’s interesting is, that Need for Speed somehow shows, that analog buttons aren’t that necessary for racing games. Of course this also has to do with the Arcade racing genre as you either go full throttle or just …. no there isn’t any option ;D So maybe with a driving simulation, analog buttons would be a problem, but as Nintendo was never too much into driving sims, maybe the analog buttons will never really occur as a real problem. In fact, it’s even nice that those triggers are digital, as shooting makes more fun that way. gobrowniesgo people have been moving gas to the right stick. val berger can’t imagine playing it that way but thanks for the info. seems like it’s more relevant than I thought to some players. gobrowniesgo No prob, n l haven’t tried it yet. l think it would be hard to hit the noz while steering and hittin the gas gobrowniesgo Did you get used to the handling? but l agree with everything you said. Criterion did an awesome job on NFSMWU..they deserve the praise. l just can’t believe EA would sell it for 50% off on release day. Tells you what they think of thier Devs.. val berger I can’t believe 90% of the things, EA is going hrough these days. They are really a burden to all studios and players worldwide and I love the fact that their CEO got the bill for that. I got used to the handling quite fast. It’s the first game, I have more fun playing with the Pro Controller, which I somehow never really git used to, but with NFS it kinda works better for me. I didn’t have the chance to try out everything, but as far as I could see, there’s quite some deep miiverse integration as well as several gamepad-features (which mostly doesn’t really make too much sense, but that’s ok 😉 ) there. The only thing I was kinda disappointed about was the fact, that it’s not fun to play the game on the gamepad. It works perfectly, of course it does, but on the smaller screen with less resolution you’re hardly able to react in time when racing. It’s ok to free roam, but for the real races, you gotta go to the big screen. This issue isn’t something that could’ve been fixed that easy, as a racing title would’ve been optimized for a better gamepad-gaming experience from ground on. So this is like the first title that doesn’t really work for me on the gamepad, which is kinda sad as I was excited about that. But OK, so damn much content ahead, I’ll get over it 😉 gobrowniesgo l noticed that too about the gamepad, l start racing from in the car it makes it alittle easier. l like that game. lt’s fun, val berger The more I play with the Gamepad, the better it works. It’s not perfect, but fun enough to evade some pursuits. The game shows up another disadvantage of the gamepad: fast motions get too blurry. so if you’re racing really fast and driving around a corner, you don’t recognize as much as on a kinda modern TV. Didn’t notice that with prbevious WiiU games, but they all weren’t that fast. But yeah, it’s really fun. As I said before, I also played it on the PS3 for hours and I am kinda surprised that it got me stuck on it again. Criterion just knows how to create a good feeling of speed and I like that some racers are daaaamn hard to beat, especially the most wanted ones 🙂 gobrowniesgo Good luck finding NFSMWU or MH3 at a store. It’s best that you download them or order em online.. Sean Currell ive seen the game running on the wii-u and it flat out blows the other console versions away. it even runs better on the controler screen than it did on the ps3 and xbox 360. day 1 purchase for me. Paulywarp It only says dlc COULD come to the wii u if enough people buy the game. Whats enough? I’m sorry but saying it COULD come to the wii u isn’t enough for me to rush out and buy games. I want a “WILL” come to the wii u..
