Over the past few weeks, Ubisoft has been releasing new video content surrounding the creation of Child of Light. So far we’ve seen the world of Lemuria and what inspires the denizens within, as well as a unique concept artwork created by a famed Japanese artist to coincide with the release of the game. This week we get a taste of new music from the game, as well as a look at how Aurora came to be in terms of design.

If you’re unfamiliar with the premise of Child of Light, this is an excellent video to watch since you’ll learn the backstory for the game and why Aurora is journeying through Lemuria. With the focus on Aurora, you learn that while she’s a bit young, she has special powers and isn’t afraid to use them in order to help the people she meets along the way. The reason the story is described as a modern fairy tale is because the writing in the game is done so that each stanza rhymes as you venture throughout the game.

Child of Light will be available on April 29.

Ehh, I’m not sure what to think of this game, I can’t tell weather I like the way it looks or not, if a demo comes I’ll try it out to see if I like this game or not.

Seems similar to Trine to me.

game looks beautiful, ill be picking up for sure

  • Damn I really can’t decide, I’m not much of a fan of cartoony style games, yet this waterpaint style looks so nice. But dat music! It makes me wanna cry so freaking beautifull, goosebumbs on every trailer I saw only from the music alone. Can’t decide but the music alone tells me go get me boy, and the artstyle, I’m starting to like it more and more as of late, I suppose my body and soul want it, but my wallet is in doubt.

I’m definitely getting this game on the 30th. It just looks incredible imo. I just hope we get more than 5 hours out of it, considering the price is relatively low. I’m guessing that is because it is mainly* a digital only title.

    * PS4 (and PC)?) has physical copies.

I heard it was 10-15 hrs

      • Einar

Wow. That’s actually way longer than I expected. Definitely an acceptable length considering it’s price tag.
