Nintendo has been pretty good at releasing party games since the Wii’s inception and Game & Wario will be no different. If you’re interested in this one, check out the above video which contains four minutes of all new gameplay that we’ve not seen before.

You’ll see the unique uses the GamePad will have when it comes to playing, as well as the Pictionary-style mini-game that features the ability to draw items for others to guess. The game looks like it’s shaping up to be a good one and will be released on March 28th in Japan. there’s no set release date for North America yet, but it’s expected to be out Q2 of 2013.

Seems pretty weird in a good way. Would make sense if this was an eshop only game

    • val berger

totally agree. I wouldn’t buy that on disc for a retailprice.

  • AJ Ariyathas

Awesome!! Looks Much Better Than Expected!!

  • Nintedward

Looks cool!!!!  Will buy this game for sure.

Wiiu daily – Monster Hunter Ultimate is getting a SIGNIFICANT update which solves all the major gripes everyone had about the game.
Off screen play is being added , Cross region online play (no longer region specific)  and daily quests will be added for free 🙂
Monster Hunter Ultimate just propelled its self to must buy status.

Will have a blast with it and get it right at launch 😀 !
      Long live monster hunting !

  • Jeffrey Debris

Looks fun! Can’t wait to play this with some friends, or solo 😀

  • Mr. Nick

That’s what I am talking about.

  • Well at least that is a better use for the controller even though the graphics are primitive and the games look like absolute shit.

    • bizzy gie

I assume those are the “facts” you always preach about spreading.

      •  Clearly you don’t write this when I do write something facts…

    • Mr. Nick

Whoa whoa whoa. No one disses Wario and gets away with it.

      • bizzy gie

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

        • Silent

Do not write bad, internet-copied comebacks. They will make others laugh at you

Watch your mouth pal or Wario will pile drive you into the ground

If games were only about achieving the most realistic looking graphics then no one would purchase or enjoy games like Minecraft, Mega Man 9 &10, LOZ Wind Waker, Paper Mario, etc. I would rather have developers experiment with fun and quirky art styles rather than try to achieve realism in every single game. I am not saying that realism is bad, but it only works when it fits the game style, and realistic graphics do not work with a quirky WarioWare game. Personally I find the graphics in this game fun and charming, and I would be appalled if Nintendo (or anyone else for a matter of fact) tried to make this type of game with needlessly realistic graphics.

      • I did not write that spectacular graphics are the ones that looks the most realistic now did I?  I like a variety of graphics styles, but what is shown above is primitive and better suited for the Wii, or N64.  On new systems, I like to see graphics that take advantage of the system.  That is what I am used to so that is what I want.  What sense does it make to come out with a new system with old graphics?

        • sonicfan1373

To me the graphics do not seem that primitive, they just seem more as if they used high-res 2D assets to give it a cartoony effect; some of the mini games use cell shaded 3D assets but they also achieve the same effect. Incidentally, because of the Wii U’s ability to output a higher resolution and because this game is made using high-res 2D assets the game’s graphics are better than Wii, GC, and N64. You state that you like spectacular graphics but you are opposed to cartoony graphics, cell shading, pixel art, even some less detailed full 3D models (I know this because in almost every post of games that uses these techniques you have made comments on how the graphics are less than stellar), which is why I believe by spectacular graphics you mean realistic graphics. Games made for current systems that make use older graphic styles like pixel art can create a unique nostalgic feeling (games like Mutant Mudds, or Megaman 9 & 10) , and some games use more cartoony graphics because it matches the style of the gameplay (like this game or LOZ: WW, or any game that focuses on exaggerated character movements or expression). Also, I have to seriously disagree with the fact that just because the system is new we have to build graphical experiences that push the system to its limits, because pushing the system to its limits by your standards means abandoning older art styles (like pixel art). I’d like to bring up an analogy in this case to filmmaking and photography. Just because now we have CG animation does not mean that all films should strive to have CG in them or that we should abandon cartoons because CG looks more realistic. Instead we have CG animations and we have cartoons developing alongside one another for different purposes. Similarly, now that we have colour and sound it does not mean that we have to abandon black and white film and photography; these old styles of film and photographic production can still create very rich and intense effects. Video games are similar because older art styles can still be used in a creative and fun manner. Also, it is not like Nintendo has not advanced this visual style, Game & Wario looks much better than its predecessors on both handhelds and consoles namely because of the use of cell shading and high-res 2D assets.

      Get a life.

Stalking game from 1:09 is seems cool.

“Nintendo has been pretty good at releasing party games since the Wii’s inception and Game & Wario will be no different.”
No! They have been good with party games since the first  3 Mario Party games on the N64.

  • RonaldRayguns

I’d buy that… for no more than 10$.

  • Michael Workman

It still bugs me that they call it “Game & Wario.” I thought it was just a working title, and that they were going to change it. It sounds dumb, not that the game itself sucks, but the title needs to change.

    • Seth Callahan

You may already know this, but it’s a riff off of Game & Watch, Big N’s first handheld. Still dumb, but makes sense.

I’m sorry, I just don’t see the appeal. This looks like a cheesy game, something that could be on facebook or a smart phone. I’m not hating, love Nintendo, true fan-boy here. I just don’t see this as anything that can be as good as Nintendoland, even Wii-Fit games are much more fun than this.

    • MetroidZero

100% Agreed. Nintendoland is better than this.

I’m actually not interested in this game but will still watch the above video. Thank you very much 😉

Edit: Nope. Watching it did not change my mind about the game, good fun for those who are interested, but piece of crap to those who are not interested.

Great use of the gamepad nevertheless, that I do have to admit.

(this reaction is intended to be read in a fun way)

  • This is some GREAT gamepad use.

  • I’ll admit; this looks like it’ll be the first WarioWare title I will ever get.

  • Sdudyoy

It looks like a Wario game, Nothing wrong with them there just not the best either.

  • grandlx2

Not my type of game. Seems like a game aimed at kids with ADHD.

  • im a die-hard nintendo fanboy, but this game sucks.

  • Johny

i loved ALL wario ware games… and that was because of AWESOME microgames… but the idea of average minigames jusr dont cut it for me :/

  • The Wario Games are so much fun. I’m surprised to see people saying they wouldn’t buy it. I spent hours with my mates playing WarioWare on the Wii. Super easy to turn it into a drinking game too!

  • thedeciderU

The use of the gamepad looks pretty interesting for some of this, although I have to agree with others when I say that the art style does not appeal to me at all. It’s still a bit confusing to decipher since I couldn’t understand the text. I hope they release a video in English soon.

Good luck on this one Nintendo. Why the HELL are they so secretive? If they keep it up I fear they may alienate their own consumers. If there are no bigger announcements soon, they better have something incredible to show at E3 to sell hardware or they could be in trouble. I like the choice of third party and indie eshop games for now, and have plenty to play, but I’ve been holding out for a big Nintendo announcement.

  • SoulSilverZero

Why are people already judging the game before it came out anywhere?

  • SoulSilverZero

I’m pretty sure the game will have 16 minigames, and be around $30-40

I thought that it is that much for most WarioWare games.
