If you have a friend who owns a Wii U and likes tower defense games, you may have to tell them to wait for their Christmas present. Zen Studios is releasing their game CastleStorm on the eShop on December 26th. But if they’re really impatient, the game can be bought on the Playstation Network, the Xbox Live Arcade, and Steam.

This game takes tower defense and adds a unique 2D twist to the genre. It places your castle on one end of the map, and your enemy’s on the other. You send out troops who meet in the middle and battle each other–hoping to get them to the other stronghold–while raining down hell on approaching units from your castle.

This ten dollar game features off TV play and a local multiplayer mode as well. Are you gearing up your castle on the 26th?

Has anyone here played this on one of the other consoles? Is it well done?

    • Jason

I have it for Xbox. It’s a very good game. Not many good TDefense games out there but this is definitely one of them

      • Fred

Thanks Jason. I have 1 tower defense game I like (on my 3DS) it’s called Starship Defense. Turns out it’s free on club nintendo this month. I’d love to find another one that I enjoy so maybe I’ll give it a try.

No problem at all glad to help. You can also try Army of Darkness Defense(ios), Bloons TD5 (ios/android/Facebook) Defense Grid(x360) Pixel Junk Monsters(ps3)and Trench(x360,ps3) those are a few of my favorites.

More games like this please Nintendo, this is why the gamepad makes sense 🙂 but please… rollercoaster tycoon 4, even 3 or a Nintendo themed theme park builder (Nintendo tycoon) would do, make it happen.

I would actually play that. Too bad Nintendo probably can’t do like a Sim City Clone…. Dick EA would cause trouble 🙁

although Sim City may be one of the franchises that would even sell on the WiiU
