We’re less than a week away from the release of Capcom’s Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, which means Capcom is ramping up the hype more than ever. If you haven’t given the demo a shot you can download it from the eShop. In the mean time, if you’re looking for new reasons to get hyped about Monster Hunter, check out this new trailer and let us know what you think in the comments. Clearly promotes the features and showcases some of the weapons, monsters, and locales found in the game. RoadyMike Forever? How long has it been since Monolithsoft’s “X” trailer? Nathaniel Lopez Great, now I have to edit my post, thanks! RoadyMike You’re welcome 😉 In my mind:”LOL XD” Nathaniel Lopez I was thinking the same thing once you mentioned it, thanks for the reminder though; I actually edited my post too Sdudyoy Not very many Game trailer’s can make the game look good while using actual game footage. Nathaniel Lopez Agreed. dylanbob121 But its like this did it so easy WiiUltra Thats when you know it was good. When something rather difficult is performed by someone who makes it look easy shows how much they put into it. On topic now: THAT is what I call a trailer haha. dylanbob121 And THATS why I preordered it 🙂 Elem187 My body is ready 😉 I got the Wii U and 3DS version on preorder with expedited shipping.. this baby will be on my door step before Tuesday 😉 I am so pumped for this game… I also think I will pick up NFS/MW just to toss some money at a dev who put some love and care into a port that takes advantage of the modern GPU in the Wii U. Zorpix less than a week? Where do you live and how soon can I move there? Nathaniel Lopez US and as soon as you can I suppose. Zorpix in the US it’s the 11th. Game comes out the 19th. That is not less than a week Nathaniel Lopez Oh gosh, I wasn’t even paying attention. You’re right, lol. Zorpix XD yeaaaah 😛 I live there Nathaniel Lopez Funny thing is, so do I, -_- , I just wasn’t thinking straight. Zorpix s’all good :3 i knew my comment would be confusing when i posted it 😛 Nathaniel Lopez Hey, on an unrelated post, does anyone know what I have to do to be able to use my gravatar account on this site? Zorpix not sure if the site supports gravatar Nathaniel Lopez Supposedly it does, anyways what do you use?…..Nevermind. Justin Lee I played the demo and I am confused about this game. I chose sword and shield character and he attacks so slow. Everytime i try to hit an animal, he lunges at me before I can strike him. Am I just bad or is this how the game is? Guess this is not my type of game. Nathaniel Lopez Then you’re probably not going to like any of the other weapons as dual blades and sword and shield are the fastest melee weapons in the game. This isn’t a game where you can just button mash your way through, you have to think about your actions and time them correctly, not always but most of the time. You’ll also have abilities depending on the armor and gems you equip on your gear so you’ll be able to reduce the time it takes to perform different actions but that’s in the full game not the demo, as you may already know. Jeremy Thompson I prefer fast pace real-time fighting and challengeing and not challengeing wise becuase they make you only be able to hit like a girl, take ever quest 2 for example *sighs* they’ll never make a game as good as ice wind dale series but yeah ps: nvm it looks like its mainly a swing your weapon at this kind of game but i will read up on it more before i decide to try it, I prefer tons of class types to choose from ty Nathaniel Lopez Well monsters like demo quest#2 Boss Monster will fall easily once you’re able to craft your own gear and place gems and also depending on your party, if any. It’s not just swinging your weapon like a madman because you have a stamina meter that goes down depending on the weapon, attacks you perform, status ailments, and as time progresses, the max will go down because you’ll get hungry and whatnot. You also have access to traps, bombs, and baits which are available in the demo quest if you open the blue missions chest in the starting zone main camp. I’m not sure what you mean by fast pace real-time fighting but trust me some of the monster you’ll face in the full game, if you do decide on buying it, will be fast and you’ll have to be quick on your feet and have a good reaction time. Once such monster I can think of is my favorite, the Nargarcuga, who gets faster when he’s in his rage mode. Anyways, hope this helps. I’m assuming, based on your comment about hitting like a girl and fast paced action, that you want an in between class that deals a good amount of damage without sacrificing speed, I recommend that you check out the long sword…once you master the “R” attack combo to land the “finisher” you’ll be able to increase it’s attack power with ease. Kushi Play the demo some more and find a weapon that you enjoy, the beauty of monster hunter is every weapon is so different and plays completely differently so maybe its just the S&S that you don’t like, it will take time but you will get the hang of it. other than that Nathaniel is spot on with the rest of the stuff that needs to be said. Jeremy Thompson well me instead of just rambling about it I guess it will be the first game I download onto the ssd and try it out and keep my hopes up for it being great Sylux Dang now that’s a pretty epic trailer indeed, even though it’s a 3DS port (which in turn is a definite version of the Wii game) in HD, it actually makes me want to obtain the game 🙂 Lots of extra stuff compared to the original Wii edition, then this trailer it does bring curiosity a lot more to people who are new to the game I think. As for the people who are familiair with this title I reckon they get hyped up again for this 🙂 At least I am for sure. John Rios YESSSSSSSS. GIVE IT TO ME! Maxime Haché This game is better with friends online! Nathaniel Lopez Agreed. Daniel Farrelly especially when you get to play with someone who hacked their wii and they can slaughter monsters in one hit, and you still get the benefits without the risk Nathaniel Lopez Oh gosh no, just no, I hope you can kick people out of hunting parties. dylanbob121 Goodbye life for 1-2 years! Nathaniel Lopez It’s not a crime to fiend on a game…. Rafael Saldana They finally confirmed voice chat, awesome Johny voice chat, touch screen keyboard and usb keyboard…. awesomenesas xD Guest didnt tri have voice chat with the wii speak? WiiUltra Yes but you both had to have wii speak, be friends, and be in the same city/area. Very few people actually had it. Thats why I’m excited for voice chat on this game. Grammar Nazi 2000 Has anyone noticed how much games were getting lately? March 18th: LEGO City: Undercover March 19th: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, The Walking Dead (Wii U) March 20th: Virtual Console Wii U March 24th: Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity March 28th: HarmoKnight April 11th: Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Ranger April 21st: LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins Poor wallet… Scott Duperree wait, the virtual console is coming out March 20? I missed that announcement Grammar Nazi 2000 It is. RonaldRayguns Where did you see that? Punch Out is coming out on the 20th. The Virtual Console is coming out next month from what I’ve seen and only NES and SNES games. Scott Duperree hopefully some GBA games too, I never played Golden Sun Jeremy Thompson guess i bought the wii u for the wrong reason and thats for next gen games not old (but fun I do say) games thats wasteing the graphics card capabilities and the $350 i spent to play next gen games. Nathaniel Lopez Well considering that most “next gen-games” aren’t coming out til’ later on this year, I think it’s fair to expect that there aren’t going to be a lot of games heavy on the graphics department since most developers are still working on their games for exclusive and multi-platform launch. Heck, even Nintendo hasn’t launched their big titles yet, save for NSMBU. Elem187 Buy Need For Speed Most Wanted.. its using the PC textures/draw distance…… and thats what Next Gen graphics right? PC assets? Because the PS4 isn’t going to be able to surpass whats possible on high end PC’s (the PS4 is the equiavalent of a midrange gaming PC when it launches in the Fall) ReturnoftheTruth2 Poo selection of trickled down games. Grammar Nazi 2000 F*** you. Nathaniel Lopez Which I’m sure most, if not all, will sell pretty well. Especially MH3U and Luigi’s Mansion. The Dillon’s Rolling western game looks pretty cool too, wish there was a Wii U port since I don’t own a 3DS. Jeremy Thompson the older games are fun but I didnt spend $350 to play nes or snes games, besides mosnter hunter that seems to be the only thing to look forward to this month maybe better next month hopefully Elem187 NFS:MW is using PC Textures.. The screenshots of the Wii U version compared to the 360 version is stark… it makes the 360 feel like a Wii. Nathaniel Lopez I thought the Wii U Virtual Console was being released in April. michael546k I would disagree with you on a few games not worth getting (at least for me): Walking Dead because the 1st footage didn’t really look that good, VC Wii U because I already have many virtual console games on my Wii and 3DS, Harmoknight because it looks like BT Runner except with rounder graphics and the Pokemon creators, DRW:TLR because it looks the same as the first game, and LGU:TCB because it looks like a smaller version of the clearly better game, LGU, except with a different story. Keep in mind that my opinions are first impressions on pre-released information. Jeremy Thompson and I’ll maybe just play 1 and that would be monster hunter but may get bored of that quick like i have other wii u games, only have like 5 or 6 though not many but yeah MasterPpv My birthday is on March 19th and my spring break starts on the 16th… This is going to be amazing =D dylanbob121 …good luck MasterPpv Thanks ^_^ I can’t wait =) Elem187 You forgot Need For Speed… Criterion put in a big effort to take advantage of the modern GPU, you should think about buying the game just to support the dev and show EA that if actually effort is put in, Nintendo fans will buy it. Edit: Oh sorry, are you talking about Europe only? Ibi Salmon Will I need to play previous Monster Hunter games to understand this one? Nathaniel Lopez Not really, it’s the same premise and the story, if it can even be called a story, is not a main factor of the game. All you need to know is your a hunter and you hunt monster and make outfits out of them. Ibi Salmon Sounds good to me. If I ever get a Wii U, this game will defiantly be a game I would buy. Then again, I could just get the 3DS version. Decisions, decisions… Nathaniel Lopez You could start off with the 3DS version and if you do get a Wii U then you could buy it for the U. Ibi Salmon Two versions of the same game. Seems far from ideal if you ask me… Nathaniel Lopez Well one for when you’re out of the house and the other for when you when to continue the hunt on a bigger screen…you don’t have to buy both, it was just a suggestion. Ibi Salmon Well, thanks for the suggestion. I might consider it if they have any interaction in some way. Though, it would be like the time I bought Lego Star Wars 3 for the 3DS and also got the 360 version of the game as a gift. Nathaniel Lopez Well there is some slight interaction between them, the save files are shared between both consoles… Ibi Salmon They are? Why didn’t you say that in the first place? If that’s true, then that totally justifies buying both versions! Even so, I’ll wait until there’s an announcement that the Monster Hunter Bundles are coming to North America in about three months…. David This game looks and feels like crap. I’d rather play “RaiderZ” on PC. This was a huge disappointment to me, as I expected something similar to “RaiderZ” but for my Wii U. Nathaniel Lopez Not sure what RaiderZ is but I don’t know how you could relate those too…I mean the title alone tells me that it’s going to be nowhere near the same type of game. David They are identical games, the same genre. Except RaiderZ surpasses Monster Hunter by tenfold. RaiderZ might have its own flaws, but when compared side by side; gameplay, graphics, mechanics, scale. There is no competition. RaiderZ is also, free2play : /. More information here buddy, http://raiderz.perfectworld.com/about Nathaniel Lopez Looks pretty cool but I think I’ll stick to MH, I feel like there’s more strategy in my actions than to just button mash and in MH, even though the game is not realistic the Hunters move and attack as though the weapon they carry has weight to them. Thanks for the info though. Johny emm … it looks better than pretty much anything i’ve seen so far in my life… i cannot describe how hyped i am about this game. the 1st mh game i played was mh3 on a wii.. and i have 750+ hours on it. its since then, monster hunter has been my favourite game franchise ever. nuff said Nathaniel Lopez Well hopefully they worked on the graphics a little bit because the demo graphic were just okay, nothing out of the ordinary which I don’t mind of course, but I know that it’s capable of more without sacrificing speed. The first MH game I played was on a friend’s PSP, at first I had mixed reactions to it but after playing it some more, I was hooked. Johny of course it is capable alot more.. but well you gotta understand.. no matter how you look at it, it IS an upscaled 3ds game port. and it cant look SOO much better, because of the compatibility issues would follow. well you know… you can even play localy and connect 3dses to wii u and play… also share save files etc.etc… so it kinda has to be optimized in a way it would ideally work with the 3ds version. And if the game does well, and sells well, capcom will make a brand new monster hunter for wii u, and not a port 🙂 (like mh4 on 3ds) either way i think it STILL looks awesome .. and well i dont really care for details THAT much… its a FRIGGIN monster hunter xD Nathaniel Lopez Well Capcom has a history of releasing the same game more than once so we’ll most likely get MH4 sometime after it releases on the 3DS instead of MH5. Johny which i am anticipating and looking forward too.. i wish SOOO bad for mh4 to come to wii u … but yea.. of course there will be more mh games in 4th generation untill generation 5. up untill now there has always been 2-3 monster hunter games in each generation. even overseas. so i have high hopes for anot her monster hunter for wii u 🙂 expecially if mh3u does well. Nathaniel Lopez I just hope that they wait a little longer to be able to release MH4 on both the 3DS and Wii U so have the same, if not, better compatibility as we’re going to have with MH3U but chances of that is slim. Daniel Farrelly god i hope theres a decent wait. need time to play MHTU dylanbob121 This is the first monster hunter game I ever played…And im EXTREMELY hyped for it!(not as much as lego city, though)So does this game match up to all its hype? Devin Kidding I’ve never played Monster Hunters in my life. I decided to download the demo, but it was poor quality in my opinion. There were no detailed directions on what to do. I literally slayed monsters for half an hour to see what happened, boring as hell. I gave up after my second use of the demo. I hope there is an improved demo or a detailed gameplay video in the future, if there isn’t already, sorry for my ignorance. blessings. Daniel Farrelly ive played monster hunter tri a huge amount, absolutely love it, but i completely agree, there wasnt any instruction in the demo. even a screen or something would have been good. it would have been because MH is such a deep game, aside from your mission objectives (in the demos case, ‘slay a lagombi’ etc) you can do whatever you like as long as you complete the objective. the start of the game has a long period where a lot of the game is explained, much too much for a demo, but if you want to see how it works, check out a lets play of monster hunter tri, for wii, on youtube. youll just need to watch the first video to get an explanation. basically, tho, the point of the demo was to find the monster (which you can track on the map) and kill it. all other monsters dont count as they are not your goal Ibi Salmon You do know that you have to hunt a specific monster, right? When you select a mission, the demo tells you what monster you have to hunt. nothing this game will protect my virginity a bit longer! I CANT WAIT!!!!! dylanbob121 what?!
