Mega Man 6 just hit the 3DS virtual console, but Capcom’s not stopping there. Capcom community manager Brett Elston has posted a blog post hinting that more Mega Man is on the way for both the 3DS and the Wii U virtual console:

“Hope to have additional news regarding classic MM games hitting the Virtual Console soon. We’re on a roll with the 3DS and Wii U lineup, and I have a feeling there’s more on the way…”

This is great news for those of you who have been asking for more Mega Man releases on the Wii U virtual console. Which titles would you like to see first? Let us know in the comments below.

I hope this means a mega man X release for europe

    • Why you hope Mega Man X releases for Europe, I might be a little confused here, but Mega Man X1 and Mega Man X2 have been released in Europe on the Snes (I had them myself on the Snes, but wasn’t to very font on them and sold them later on, one of my biggest mistakes ever), and I believe Mega Man X3 also, not sure on the last one though, but pretty much 100% sure on the First two MMX games.

      • D Moness

mega man X for the VC hasn’t been released in europe(at least not on the wii U vc). It has been released in the usa though.

        • Ah I get it now 🙂 I thought you where referring to the original cartridge release, but should have seen you referred to the vc, as this whole section is about vc hehe Ups 🙁

  • iceazeama

crapcom flushes another one down the toilet. just make a new one, it will print you money. oh wait you just like to flush shit down the toilet like that.

trying to think of something positive to say

  • A_7

An entirely new megaman game would be a big hit.
i hope capcom can see that.

    • And no offense to the 8bit and 16bit games back in the day not just another title like that. If done right a Mega Man 1st/3rd person shooter could become a contender for Metroid and Halo and other games in that genre.

      • JB

100% agree! I think it would particularly work with the X series… Though I wouldn’t complain if they gave me a new 2D Megaman or Megaman X game… Capcom totally wasted the Blue Bomber’s anniversary year. It’s like they forgot it was coming or something.

      • ItzameyaToad

I say no first person shooter but maybe an over the shoulder 3rd person shooter would be cool!

        • thedeciderU

megaman is too cool NOT to see onscreen haha

      • Magnus Eriksson

        Yes, this.

I dont want to see another Megaman Classic style. To many already. But with a twist like that.,.

    • DingoWalley

Agreed. Nintendo should buy Megaman Exclusivity too, just like they bought Sonic Exclusivity (For the time being, though that will probably become permanent if S:LW sells really well). Megaman is a much better fit for Nintendo then Sony or Microsoft anyways.

      • Ice Climbers

Especially since a good portion of the Mega Man games were exclusive to Nintendo anyway. As for Sonic, Sega should become a 2nd party developer for Nintendo.

        • thedeciderU

agreed. that would be a feather in their cap

    • greengecko007

It would be like all the other Mega Man games. The first one will get good ratings and reviews, and be pretty well received. Then Capcom would proceed to make another one every year with the only changes being the story, and people would get tired of Mega Man again.

    • Magnus Eriksson

I would rather see a new ghost n’ goblins/ghouls n’ ghost than another Megaman. And yes, we need Street Fighter II on WiiU VC. 🙂

  • Madmagican

I’m definitely up for some more Megaman… how about some of the GBA games like Zero X 1-4 and Battle Network games?

  • everyone

X2 and X3 would be sweet. Both great games. Perhaps Legends as well.

  • $41809923

mega man soccer from super nes

  • Jerry Garcia

I know this might sound crazy, but I think it would be a lot of fun to include old school gameboy games onto the Wii U Virtual Console.

Could you imagine playing these gems again?

    -Super Mario Land
    -Super Mario Land 2
    -Wario Land
-Megaman 4 (which is one of my favorite games of all time, different from the NES version)
    -Mortal Kombat 2

These are just some from my childhood that I would love to play again. I would pay as well.

    • Fred

You can play these gems again just download them on 3DS
well not mortal konbat but the others

  • OK Capcom. Just make a MegaMan Series Pack for VC and call it a day. All the MegaMan games and all the MegaMan X games in one pack for a nice reasonable price. I would buy that. Even toss in some of the MegaMan zero and other related titles just because you are being nice.

    • JB

That would be awesome. Especially if they gave people an additional discount relative to the Megaman games already purchased.

    • thedeciderU

      ^^^ eeeeexactly

  • ludist210

If they’re eventually doing the GBA on the Virtual Console, I’d like to see all of those games hit the service…never played any of the Network games or the Zero series.

  • Antar Rodríguez

megaman battlenetwork series as well as megaman zero series

  • Michael Hancock

  • lonewolf88

    i love this :S

  • Jon

I hope they put 5&6 on the Wii U VC

    • thedeciderU

yes, then sell 1-6 as the megaman anniversary collection for $15 (ps2 release). that collection was awesome. they need to fix the vc pricing…

  • blindtiger

just release all the main titles in the original and x series please. ill buy every one.

  • OmegaRed

Mega Man 8 is a personal favorite

    • Luffy

      i love megaman 8!
      jump jump
      slid slide

      • OmegaRed

It’s a campy game but the voice acting rocks and the story is serviceable. I played it for Saturn a lot (i’m used to struggling systems)

        • Luffy

          haha i totally agree!

  • Bob Charlie

“Green Mega Man goes with red Mega Man and yellow Mega Man to make the Ultra Mega Mega Man.”

    • Maxwell Baumgarten

Greatest line in South Park history.

  • Have Mega Man 1-5 not released on the WiiU? I don’t own a WiiU so I have no idea. I know yesterday a special Mega Man Bundle has been released indeed on the 3DS virtual Console, based on Mega Man’s appearance in SSB. This contains Mega Man 1-6 (NeS) and Mega Man 1 on the gb, (all games sold separately for €4,99 a piece, GB game €3,99 with Mega Man 6 as a new additional release in this Mega Man Special)

I’ll expect that Mega Man 9 and 10 will also be re-released in the Virtual Console soon.

    • thedeciderU

currently/so far, 1-4 and X have been released.

  • ChiwawaBoi

how many megaman titles are there in total?

    • Luffy

      hmmm, let see…

MegaMan 1 to Mega Man 10,
      MegaMan & Bass,

      MegaMan X to MegaMan X8,
      MegaMan X Command Mission,

      MegaMan Legends 1 & 2,
The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (A prequel to Legend only release in Japan),

Mega Man Battle Network 1 to 6,
      MegaMan Network Transmition,
      MegaMan Battle Chip Challenge,

      MegaMan Zero 1 to 4,

      MegaMan ZX,
      MegaMan ZX Advent

MegaMan Star Force 1 to 3,

I think that is pretty much it?
So a total of 40 games

      • ChiwawaBoi

woah! looks like im gonna be busy for a while. o:

  • Smartass2

How about a HD remake or new Mega Man

  • SeroReviews

  • I love MegaMan!!!!!

  • thedeciderU

let’s see a bundle reasonably priced nintendo

  • Kaihaku

Megaman 64 or more of X series would be nice.

  • Stephen Davis
