Bayonetta 2 has had a storied history even at this point in the game’s existence. Many people were excited to see the game would be appearing on the Wii U as an exclusive title, but countless others have created petitions and begged Platinum Games to release the game multi-platform on PS3/360 and PS4/One. Kellams has gone so far as to lash out at fans on Twitter, accusing them of “pedantic port-begging” and mocking them for their messages. It’s obvious the world wants a sequel to Bayonetta 2, but outside of Nintendo fans everyone seems upset that it will be arriving on the Wii U. During a presentation at UCF’s Center for Emerging Media, creative producer JP Kellams tried to explain once again, why the game would be exclusive to Wii U. We’ve known for a while that Nintendo is responsible for pulling the project from the clutches of purgatory and funding it, which Kellams reiterated in his speech. Without getting into some stuff that is both business and confidential, the simple question I’d like to ask you is, ‘Do you want to play Bayonetta 2?’ Bayonetta 2 would not exist without Nintendo white knighting that project. So while I totally understand that people want to play it on the platforms that they’ve played it on previously, we really wanted to make Bayonetta 2. The speech is rather interesting because Kellams goes into further detail about why the team stuck with Nintendo and why they’re standing firm against those that cry for Bayonetta 2 to be released on other platforms. Kellams even goes further to state that Bayonetta 2 is lucky to be published by Nintendo on the Wii U because Nintendo is the powerhouse to be reckoned with on its own platform, likening the struggle of third party developers on the console as a Universal vs. Disney powerhouse situation. The full speech is above if you’re interested in watching it, but it’s around an hour and a half long. [via NE] local_offer bayonetta 2 Nintendo platinum games wii u stars Further Reading Nintendo loses patent appeal, ordered to pay Nintendo was brainstorming about Switch when RyuNoHadouken if every Wii U owner(ok, at least 80%) doesnt buy this game, then i never wanna hear yall bitch about not getting any good games on Wii U ever again!!!! Gameonfool This tbtexas I will not be buying it because the content is not for me. Everyone I know personally will not be buying the game either. I know people don’t want to hear it but of the three people (families) I know that own a Wii U none would buy a game with content that looks so evil. I mean, even the protagonist is a Witch who is half naked. I know this sounds judgmental or something but like it or not Nintendo has historically been a family platform and games like Bayonetta are going to find a hard time selling. Maybe I’m wrong but I would be shocked if it reaches 8% much less 80%. BIG Franky there is definitely some truth to this….I for one have already made the purchase (via pre-order), but will not be allowing my children to play the game…. it will definitely not hit 80%, but it hopefully will be higher than 8%…. if even 40% of Wii U owners make the purchase it will be considered a success….. we will see. tbtexas Something to think about: The first game only sold 2 million units across the PS3 and XBox 360 with a combined install base of 160+ million. So on 2 systems with an older average ownership the game managed to sell to roughly 1.2% (that doesn’t include overlap in PS3 X360 ownership) but for some reason on a system that Nintendo actively markets to children people are hoping for 80% or 40% even. I realize that the percentage could be higher than 1.2% on the Wii U because of the simple fact it seems some people liked the game so much that they probably will end up buying a Wii U to play the sequel and the fact that a certain % will buy it because it is an exclusive. RyuNoHadouken when the original came out, the install base was nowhere near those numbers BIG Franky very true… and while the original was never considered a commercial success, it became huge in the secondary market…. used copies sold don’t show up in those numbers (as they are essentially recycled)…. so many more people played it than what those original sales figures indicate… its tricky. tbtexas That makes sense and is more than likely very accurate :). I will readily admit that my view is narrowly based on the people I personally know that own a Wii U. So, 0 for 4 purchases here but that means nothing in the grand scheme of things I suppose since the population is neither random and it is extremely small. It seems Nintendo has striven really hard to maintain a family friendly console and I personally like that. Some people do not and that is OK. Ultimately though it is Nintendo’s business to run how they want. I just hope Mario doesn’t start decapitating people in pools of blood anytime soon. LOL J_Joestar i don’t think you have anything to fear in terms of Mario, Peach, etc… going all grimdark hardcore violent. Nintendo has been fairly protective of their 1st party mainstays since the screw-ups like the Mario Movie or the Zelda CD games. Sorta like how Disney tends to be very careful about who they let handle Mickey Mouse. Jon On the Gamecube, the N64, and even as far back as the original NES, Nintendo had gore games like Resident Evil. Do you see Mario shooting zombies in games today? Yes Nintendo has always provided a family friendly console, but those consoles have ALWAYS had games that appealed to the hardcore gamers. I still don’t understand how nobody sees, remembers, or knows this… Grayson Tech Idiots are planning to get a used version of the game. Get a used Wii U and return it after they’re done. How about give the well deserved money to Platinum and Nintendo? tbtexas Very true, it was probably about 55-60 million at the time. So it sold closer to 4%. Though I’m not sure how long it could still be bought new after that when the install base grew much larger. Grayson Tech Well my DAD could buy this game for himself, as we own a family Wii U. Rinslowe Not allowing your children to play this game is more like common sense. You don’t have to be religious to apply that to Bayo 2… BIG Franky i’m guessing this reply was meant for someone else? as I didn’t say or imply otherwise… in fact, quite the opposite. Patrick Francis My parents owned games that they played after I went to bed as a kid. I think most people this generation aren’t as closed minded as they used to be. Just because something has a evil storyline or provocative character models doesn’t condemn it anymore. tbtexas The Bible has an evil story line by some standards: Satan, sin and death are everywhere in it. I’m just not sure that is quite the same as playing a half naked witch in a game and considering her the hero. 🙂 Eric Degrechie Why shouldn’t she be considered the hero? The angels are the antagonists in the game. Bayonetta spends a great portion of the game protecting a small child (albeit grudgingly). Is it fair to judge someone based on who they are and how they dress, but not their deeds? Doesn’t sound very Christian to me. YogiGRB just like Todd McFarlane’s Spawn, a devilish hero … back in the days when my mom found one of my copies of the comic with Spawn killing a demon priest on the cover, all she saw was a devil killing a priest. (she trew away my whole comic collection while i was at my after school job) Petri But… witches protect people and are very strong! Its fine if you do not like sexualised or dark games, but Bayonetta is more funny than its dark or sexualised. Stephen Macneil Please explain to me how Bayonetta is half naked? If that is half baked to you I would hate to see how you think women should be dressed. What does her being a witch have to with anything? It’s over the top and cartoonish, and way less harmful than a book which promotes intolerance and violence in the name of God. Didn’t Moses kill 3000 Israeliites in the name of God? What about the sexist laws in the Torah? tronic307 Her clothes are formed from her hair, which seems to have a life of its own. BIG Franky LOL… that moment when someone who has obviously never picked up a Bible acts as if they are a Biblical Scholar…. BIG Franky ….and a comment discussing how they were raised in the Church and has read through the Bible multiple times in 3….2….1….. (LOL!)…. 😀 Stephen Macneil Actually I read the Torah, New Testament, Quran, and Nag Hamadi. I also minored in religious studies. If you want a real adult debate instead of dismissing a person for comments you’re uncomfortable with I more than welcome it. Stephen Macneil I really hope you’re wrong. It’s obvious you were raised Christian but I don’t think the game is “evil”. All that anti witch BS was created by the churches and somehow it still exists today. This game is extremely creative and insanely Japanese. Nintrndo has always been family friendly but that’s what’s hurting the console. No reason it can’t do both. BIG Franky well, FWIW, I’m a Christian and I bought the game…. many people (those of faith or not) might feel uncomfortable with a darker storyline… that isn’t bad or wrong. tbtexas Thanks Big Franky. 🙂 Stephen Macneil Well, without being rude I was thinking of the more fundamental “Harry Potter is evil” Christians but to each their own. My point was that Nintendo needs more games like this even if people want Nintendo to be a family console. It’s that exact stigma that’s hurting Njntendo. It was calling the game “evil” and noting that “even the protagonist is a witch” that took be aback, not that some people don’t like darker games. Rinslowe Yeah it’s a mad world when having more mature themes available means you have to buy into them… Not for you, don’t purchase it – simple. Or do people really judge an entire platform on whether or not that platform has any mature games? I find that hard to accept. And totally not even possible, even on Nintendo platforms. Mario Not me. Thomas Vienna Wow, that’s wrong. You don’t have to be Christian to dislike over-the-top action and mature content. You just have to have matured past it. I’m personally not religious, or raised religious, and I own only one mature game compared to my quantity of E or E10+ games. Stephen Macneil Did you even read the post I replying to instead of removing all context of what I was saying? I don’t care what people like, or dislike. That wasn’t my point and you know it. J_Joestar To be fair, Nintendo has had a long history (over 100 years old now IIRC) before video games came around, and not all of their past exploits were squeaky clean family oriented stuff. Virus6 Shin Megami Tensei has far more mature subject matter. They even go so far to completely fictionalize all religion and it sold very well. I think Bayonetta will do just fine. e_rocket Lets all hope you are mistaken… The game looks really great, and if it sells good on the the Wii U, then maybe Nintendo will have a better time with this platform in the future, which will be nice. Platinum already released a grate family friendly game on the U, and it didn’t sell as good as it deserved, we need to open our eyes to new game ideas… so, go and buy both platinum games Wii U titles, or at least the one that is family friendly, and stop playing the same games all the time… Eric Degrechie Witches aren’t evil, the people who would burn “witches” at the stake are evil. Zelda is one of Nintendo’s most beloved franchises and it’s full of stuff Christians hate. Magic, evil spirits, multiple Gods, Goddesses, and deities not found in the Christian doctrine. Also a sexy, half naked Great Fairy. I mean just look at Majora’s Mask and Twilight Princess. It’s full of dark themes that would make any fundie squirm. Bayonetta isn’t evil, the angels she fights against are evil. Most people like half-naked ladies by the way. I think you’re the minority here schizor So being half naked looks evil? 🙂 Eric Degrechie Not to me. Naked ladies are the purest, most non evil images imaginable. Stephen Macneil She’s fully clothed, which is why his points make zero sense. Daniel Carvalho I understand your point, and as gamer you’re free to buy whatever you wish to, just as much as you’re free to not buy anything you don’t want. It is true that Nintendo has that image of a family friendly company, and that Bayonetta 2 may have a hard time selling at first, but I also believe it’s gonna be a success on the long run for what it represents: Nintendo trying to cater for the so-called “hardcore” gamers, and including ‘Mature’ content on their consoles. Also, I believe it’s gonna be an awesome game! tronic307 Bayonetta 2 ain’t no western dudebro game, it’s Japanese, so I’m buying it. I’m Christian, and while the main character is a witch who apparently fights angels, it’s just fiction, so the gameplay is all that should matter. Magnus Eriksson I think porn can save your soul 🙂 Grayson Tech I’m 11! This game is rated M (and sadly because it has women, my dad will presume its inappropriate) Your argument is invalid. tbtexas Grayson, do you think the game is appropriate? What does that mean to you? I’m curious to hear the opinion of someone so young on the subject. Grayson Tech Nope. But hey, I used to play Gears of War when I was 9, and my dad let my play GTA when I was 7, he’s just grown more strict withing that time. Alan Michael Hensley well, lets be honest, when us older folks were younger, video games weren’t like they are now. I’m only 24, but during the 90’s, the most graphically mature video game i played was Resident Evil 2 on the Nintendo 64, and i was only 10 at that time. though i will admit that game scared the crap out of me, but I enjoyed the many puzzles and who doesn’t like killing zombies. Parents are probably more strict about mature games now because the games look more realistic than they did before, so now we see realistic character models that are either have naked, or with body parts flying everywhere. I like mature games, but I like the mature games that aren’t just trying to be mature just for the sake of being mature rated. however, Bayonetta was a ton of fun, so i will be getting the sequel. Eric Degrechie There were a ton of violent games with sexual content back when you were young. RyuNoHadouken notice the 80%? Daniel Gonzalez Good luck with that. Capt. Smoker You can’t decide what people like, or even if the game is gonna be any good, I think it probably will though, the best thing about other platforms is variety, the Wii U doesn’t have that, if Bayonetta 2 doesn’t sell, I wouldn’t be surprised, as the first Bayonetta wasn’t really appealing to most people and did pretty poorly, Nintendo need to bankroll all kinds of different genres, though this is exclusive, don’t expect it to do better than most 3rd party multiplatform games. Dimitri Theodosakis i Planning buy bayonetta 2 on Launch Day Digital Version, Maybe Double Dip if their North America Collector Edition uPadWatcher If I only had an external hard drive, I’d do the very same thing– pre-order the collector’s edition and buy Bayonetta 2 on launch day via Nintendo eShop. Rinslowe True. ETMew2348 omg dont hurt me ill buy ill buy ! e.e Xavier Lopez Chabelo Im not trying to be negative dude but… Lets just say that a really big audience of the Wii U are kids… RyuNoHadouken i know, but a lot of adults buy their kids mature games. ‘Murica!! Magnus Eriksson Ill buy it second hand. That way I can secure Nintendo from getting my money 🙂 John Stevens This isn’t even really my type of game, but I’m still thinking about buying it purely on principle. The cycle of poorly selling non-1st party titles – leading to less titles being made – leading to less consoles sold – leading to poorly selling non-1st party titles needs to stop somewhere. GregoryTheRainMaker I can’t argue with this. Mr Ninty i am buying it. Doctors Tardis Just get a Wii U people. It’s got some really great games. And Nintendo’s 1st party titles are going to continue to be high quality games. Nintendo is the reason we even HAVE games today. I keep hearing people list off a bunch of Nintendo games and then say “well, I hope they go 3rd party because I want to play all these games but not get a Nintendo console” If Nintendo has such a good lineup for you to say that… you should just get the console! incoherent1 Seriously. This. I’m so tired of people complaining to Platinum and Nintendo — their frustration is entirely misdirected. This game wouldn’t exist without Nintendo. If you want to play the game, buy the console. If you don’t want to buy the console, then don’t complain and move on. If you insist on complaining, then talk to Microsoft and Sony who didn’t make the same offer Nintendo did, which was to partially foot the bill for development to ensure the game existed. Capt. Smoker Only Nintendo fans will buy a Wii U, because Nintendo games is all it offers right now, most Nintendo fans are quite content with the 3DS, So that doesn’t help matters for the Wii U, unless Nintendo changes the strategy over night and has games of more variety, I couldn’t recommend the Wii U to anybody unless they liked Nintendo games. MachoMadness Everyone here has a Wii U. You should be telling this at people in Gamestops. Kyle Its not a port from other platforms so people are gona buy it starwars360 I can’t wait for it. I big thanks to Nintendo for saved Bayonetta and now owned rights to Nintendo. So it is great on it. No publishers interested so rest of all other publishers is their problems. Fans need to learn it is how business doing works. starwars360 Love you Platinum Games. 🙂 Lil J Moore Nintendo better advertise this game much better then they did the Wonderful 101. Get people hyped for this game along with X, MK8, SSB and any other game out you got in store for us Arthur Jarret I’m buying it day one, I loved the first one (despite owning the gimped PS3 version) – Can’t wait to punish the heavens. Matt Lambourne What was wrong with the PS3 version? I just bought it for PS3 🙁 Arthur Jarret That’s… quite a list. Framerate, graphics… ah well, just read the digital foundry face-off. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-bayonetta-faceoff Thing is, the game is no less fun because the xbox version is better – and I still foind Bayonetta very enjoyable. Stephen Macneil Yeah ps3 version wasn’t great next to the Xbox version, but still playable. Lil J Moore Didn’t the ps3 version sell more then the 360 version even with those problems? Stephen Macneil Yeah it did but that’s because it’s such a Japanese game and sold well in Japan where Xbox didn’t have a presence. In North America the 360 one sold better. companyoflosers the developer nearly went out of business. THATS the problem. nintendo pulled back it up and owns it now as a result. Daniel Gonzalez Nintendo doesn’t own Platinum. They just helped out with the Bayonetta 2 development. They weren’t going out of business. Lol. ZeldaFan83 If all those petition cry babies wanna play it then go buy a Wii U. Its gonna be a great game and its an amazing console. Quit whining. Lusunup Buy a Wii U!! stop begging its ridiculous that you guys now show curtsy of the game when it didn’t sell well on the other consoles. Green Well this game will bomb on U only because the audience for the U is young kids, but ultimately anyone that still doesn’t understand why this is a U exclusive is pretty stupid -.-. Stephen Macneil I’m not a young kid… Spike Ashford You couldn’t be more wrong if you tried. Andrew Gonzalez Yeah, then it would still bomb if it was on the other consoles too. Grayson Tech The age group features so many adults… you must be pretty dumb. I’m 11 and have a chance of buying this game, as it’s one of the ones I’m buying just to give PG money for their efforts. ‘Hardcore’ gamers are so cruel they’d buy the used games, just to screw PG over. Justin Gray Get online on Wii U if you have one and play Monster Hunter. Even on the kid heavy FPS’s there are virtually no kids. None at all on Monster Hunter because that game is to hard for kids and moron self proclaimed hard core gamers alike. You are wrong. Petri I really should get back on to that game, just never could get used to the control scheme. Jon I’ll get this game eventually. it depends on what other games are coming out around when it does. themizarkshow I’m not super interested in the genre, but will probably drop money on it if I can spare it at launch just to support Nintendo’s efforts at getting good developers on their platform. Diaz Just finished my first play through of the first Bayonetta and I’m definitely picking up this one on day one. I can see why people want it on their console because its going to be great and if they really love the series as much as they claim to then they will pick up a Wii U and play the second one. Otherwise they are just being jealous idiots who are mad that Nintendo is getting a great third party exclusive. Mario Actually, it’s second party. ActivesiN im so pumped for bayonetta 2, I hope Wii U owners buy this damn game and doesnt sell low like wonderful 101 ( which by the way is an awesome game also from platinum games ) Alan Michael Hensley it was such a great game, and Platinum Games is reportedly make W102 ActivesiN awesome companyoflosers i mean it was fun but why would they make another with the first selling so poorly? Petri Wut? Where? Andrew Gonzalez I hope they market it on TV. W101 had no marketing besides a website here and there. ScrewAttack I’m afraid to say I won’t be buying it. As much as I’ve enjoyed W101, I’m not huge on the hack-n-slash, action game scene. W101 benefited from me massively liking the idea behind it, Bayonetta sadly doesn’t do the same. No doubt it’ll be a great title for those that enjoy that stuff though. Mario I don’t get it. When WiiU doesn’t have games, everyone complains. When WiiU has games, everyone complains. What’s up with that? J_Joestar in the end it is all excuses to avoid having to buy one. first it’s “I don’t want to buy a system that doesn’t have games i want” then it’s “I can’t afford a new system for a game i want, PORT PLZ!” Mario MAKE UP YOUR MINDS PEOPLE! DO YOU WANT THIS GAME OR NOT!? J_Joestar THEY JUST DON’T WANT NINTENDO OWNERS TO HAVE NICE THINGS! MOST COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE GAME AS THEY WOULD WAIT FOR A USED COPY FOR CHEAP LIKE WITH THE ORIGINAL! Virus6 Like JP Kellams said in his presentation: I spend a lot of time on Twitter seeing people get really angry, ‘Why is it not on PS3 and 360?’ Right? So kind of the way it went was, ‘Why do we have to buy a Wii U for one game? Why isn’t it on PS3 or 360?’ And now that the Xbox One and the PS4 are out, it’s ‘Why isn’t it on PS4 or Xbox One?’ So then it’s not about buying a piece of hardware, it’s just that you didn’t want it on the Wii U. Mario Exactly! Andrew Bland Nintendo needs hardcore games before I get a Wii U! Nintendo: Bayonetta 2 is exclusive to wii u 🙂 WTF! Bring that game to other consoles! Mario Sometimes, people can be so controversial. nexxus6 Welcome to Wiiudaily! Leave your happiness and positivity at the door. Mario I can’t even keep half of it? Snake Eater This is what Ubisoft should have done with Rayman but didn’t. Stick to the original statement. Grayson Tech Exactly! The Wii U version started out the top selling! This bull is why I didn’t buy it. Snake Eater oh yeah, I didn’t as well Grayson Tech https://www.kickstarter.com/pr… I know this is off-topic but PLEASE support this cause. Indie game development will come to the Wii U it looks amazing. At least repost this once on Disquis, PLEASE. Andrew Bland Solution: Buy a Wii U. You don’t see me whining and complaining that I have to buy a PS4 just to play Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15. ConspiracyTheory I’ve never played the first one, I dont even know if I enjoy the gameplay of this one, but I’m sure as hell gonna buy me a piece. For support. And looks like its pushing the console a bit too. And she IS HOT!!!! I just turned 31 and I’ve not enjoyed playing games this much for like a decade. I bought this console for to play with from the bottom of my sofa and with 92″ fullhd screen, and since I got bunch of smallish kids I ended up with Wii U, since I knew there are games for everybody in that. And damn these games look good on it! Got new mario u, 3d world (simply awesome), wind waker HD (love it, looks and sounds incredible) and DKCTF! Incredible piece of art in gaming. Also some half dozen VC titles to bring a tear in my eye from the days gone past. Also bought ZombiU and it scares the shit out of me, even though its a bit behind technically from these first party titles. Wii u shouldn’t be compared to PS4 and Xbone, for starters we can check the price of each machine. Wii u is the best bang for the buck. Those others are for the ones hunting for eye-candy in cost of the overall experience. And anyway PC is the only machine that can deliver it in higher resolutions, with solid FPS. And christ, fast fps shooters feel gimped to play without keyboard and mouse. Gamepad is also awesome keyboard for surfing web etc. Netflix works like a charm bringing the “super HD” for my big screen. Ninty should just fix their shit a bit in terms of marketing and ads. This is not just a kiddy console anymore…. Sorry for the wall of text, had to put one in for the ugly duckling. Poor bashed wii u. Andrew Clear You guys do know, that she is actually clothed in this game (she isn’t hald nakend anymore). Nintendo probably had something to do with that. I bet it will still be a mature game, but it will be more like pg-13 than r Andrew Bland I like this design better. Virus6 Do not present your statement as a fact if you cannot prove it to be true. It’s complete conjecture. For all you know, it was simply a design change on Platinum Games’ end… you know, like they said they intentionally did. Bayonetta’s style reflects her demeanor in this game. Never mind all of the crotch shots and all of that nature that still exist… Nintendo is not some prudish company that steers clear of anything remotely inappropriate to a sensitive few. Petri If that is your only concern…….. http://youtu.be/4dFfVBdRWmw?t=2m17s I know its not a porn movie, but clearly shows her clothes (hair) going off her body. There was never more nudity than that on the first game either. But lets just wait for the game to release and then start ripping our panties off. Besides, I doubt Kamiya would agree to this if Nintendo forced their hand in any way. ipaxton I smell lackluster sales again 🙂 Daniel Gonzalez Me too. With this game anyway. Then we’ll hear the outrage when we see an article stating it’s poor sales. Andrew Bland It’s a Platinum game, don’t expect it to sell well. nexxus6 You can’t wait for that article. it will be like Christmas at the Gonzalez residence if such an article hits the wiiudaily front page. ipaxton I heard Mario Land 3D sales were pretty low and that actually shocked me also makes me wonder what Mario Kart 8 sales will be like. Daniel Gonzalez I wonder that myself as well. Sylux Strangely enough I haven’t purchased any first party titles yet on my Wii U but only 3rd party titles, not much first party available which has my interest yet, this is 3rd or 2nd party? Don’t care tbh I want this sexy evil witch on my WiiU 😀 Snake Eater That is weird, no First Party games at all? Sylux Yup, none at all so that, it is weird, I know, I have Sonic Lost World, MH3U, Mass Effect (only because I won it though) ZombiU and Darksiders 2. Never had much interest for Pikmin, didn’t like the first and second, Windwaker I have already on the GC, didn’t want to spent another 45 on a WiiU HD port, besides the excellent HD overhaul it offers nothing new within the game itself to me, only an easier way to track the triforces (I actually preffered the old way). 3D world I wouldn’t like it don’t like 3D land either and played it for a bit at my local gamesstore but just didn’t do it to me. The new super Mario games are fun, loving wii edition liked the 3DS game but another same game, no thanks. Only Donkey Kong has my first party interest, but I want to finish my Current Library first before adding new ones. Waiting eagerly for Bayo2 and X, Zelda ofcourse also but that’ll likely take more then a year from now to release, as N States they won’t show Zelda U until this e3 in June, it’s pretty obvious the game is nowhere close near finalization and so won’t come until 2015. I’ll eat my shoes if it does arrive this year. Snake Eater What about Smash Bros? Sylux I’ll get smash brothers I have all smash games, but as of first party titles available now there isn’t much that has my attention, as far as smash brothers goes I have stopped checking out the mii verse and site for it, new screenshot on a daily basis, getting a bit tired of it, just give us an actual release date already. Offcourse Smash Brothers is the most fun to play with friends, same can be said on Mario Kart but my friends have nothing with Nintendo anymore, they play PS3/PS4 mostly so for that reason I didn’t add Smash Brothers and Mario Kart 8 in the list “I’m looking forward to”, no matter how much fun Smash and Mario Kart are, playing them alone get’s boring really fast, offcourse we can Always play online but that’s one of the few things I leave to one game only for now, I play Monster Hunter online not much else tbh. Once Smash and Mario Kart come I’ll probably pick them up, well Smash for sure, but Mario Kart maybe. I don’t have a lot of time to play them online anyway at this moment due to work. Kenshin0011 Wii U 2014: Smash Bros Bayonetta 2 Yarn Yoshi DK Freeze Monolith’s X Mario Kart 8 Hyrule Warriors 3rd party like Watch Dogs, Project Cars, etc. And titles that are unannounced at this time. Major Wii U titles already available: Pikmin 3 Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze Wonderful 101 Windwaker HD Super Mario 3D World Nintendo Land NSMBU + Luigi DLC Wii Fit U Lego City Ninja Gaiden Razor’s Edge Rayman Legends Monster Hunter Ultimate 3rd party like AC4, Batman Origins, COD, Need for Speed Most Wanted All of this is plenty enough of a reason to own a Wii U. Daniel Gonzalez Little third party. I’ll pass. Kenshin0011 It’s already a given that the wii u is not a console to play major 3rd party games. What an ignorant response…All of the other exclusives for wii u, at only $299, make it a very good purchase Daniel Gonzalez Too much Nintendo. I’ll pass. Kenshin0011 Then what are you doing on here at Wii U Daily? Are you actually that sad and pitiful a person to lurk on a website about a console that you see no merit in from the get go? It really must suck to be you Daniel Gonzalez Too much Reggie. I’ll pass. NkoSekirei cant wait for some of those games on the top of ur list David Trail You missed Shin Migami V Fire Emblem Kaihaku Don’t expect this to shut up all of the people who didn’t buy the first one but who are somehow outraged that the sequel is a Nintendo exclusive. For the minority who did buy the first game, complain all you want…you earned it. Kinhas yeah lets not buy this game it has a half naked protagonist! lets no buy X too, They kill dinossaurs! And godamn mario kart, kids will think crashing is FUN and then do it on the streets with their tricicles! OMG Petri Not to mention Marios nasty habit of popping shrooms all the time. Kinhas That BASTARD! MujuraNoKamen I’m absolutely sickened by the pathetic fanboys who bash this being a Wii U exclusive. I’ve seen loads of people say they’d rather the game never existed than get published by Nintendo, if you won’t look at the game just because it isn’t on your console of choice then you obviously didn’t really care about it in the first place but it’s spiteful and pathetic to say that the project should never have gone ahead – the guys at Platinum put so much effort and creativity into the game and you want to shit all over them just because of the Nintendo badge on the front cover? You don’t deserve games like this. MujuraNoKamen I understand the idea that the franchise should continue on the same platforms it did before but MS & Sony didn’t fund Platinum, Nintendo did why should they give it to people who didn’t appreciate PG’s genius. Should I start campaigning for Halo on Wii U then? I also understand that not everyone can buy a console for just one game but they’d have no qualms about getting a more expensive PS4/XBO for B2 yet they try and tell us that the cheaper Wii U isn’t worth it? And yeah it’s not your average Nintendo game but so what? these are the same people who mock Nintendo for being “kiddy” and when Nintendo make a mature game they turn a blind eye to it and insult them for making the exact sort of AAA, mature, 3rd party game we’ve all been asking for. Capt. Smoker Make a plight all you want but people will always be idiots about every single little thing in the world, so it’s pointless, port beggars an whine all they want but since Nintendo bankrolled it, they really don’t have a leg to stand on, take the victory and don’t let it get to you. MujuraNoKamen Quite true but you’ve got to feel sorry for Platinum the way so many “fans” have turned on them for working with Nintendo when all they both wanted to do was give the world the sequel it was asking for. Capt. Smoker You know, at one point in time, I was a huge fan of anything and everything Square Enix did, I would buy any console that housed even one of their games, if these “fans” were truly so big on the series, they would happily do the same, I love Dragon Quest and Fire Emblem games, the only place I know they’ll show is on Nintendo consoles only, so I buy them without fail, never regretting my purchase, if these naggers love Bayonetta so much, they shouldn’t complain and just be happy that it exists, anyone that does, should just be ignored, can’t blame the devs for telling em to shut it, I imagine everybody at Platinum has a lot of gratitude and respect for Nintendo for making it happen when their precious consoles of choice wanted nothing to do with it. Daniel Gonzalez http://media.tumblr.com/194c9f030fa9b4e750785d8cca2b1177/tumblr_inline_mvag28BOdl1qh9x31.gif Capt. Smoker That gif really freaks me out for some reason lol Daniel Gonzalez Haha. Well, she does have that serial killer glare I suppose. Brandon Im a ps4 gamer now but, I want to try more games instead of my usuals. When I get the wii u again I will try to pick this game up also and X. Never played games like these before so Im curious. I will pick up the 1st party games first though so I have to see. Sylux Well said, people bashing this game because it is published by Nintendo is ridiculous, the Nintendo hate runs deep within their hearts, perhaps they never had the chance to play a Nintendo Console, or perhaps they forgot that Sony nor Microsoft cared enough to get this game out there, and only Nintendo did care about it. Yet people say “DAT GAME!!!! It’s on a NINTENDO CONSOLE WTF BLASPHEMY” I would have bought an Xbone for this game, luckily I don’t have to though. herrer Didn’t Nintendo pay Platinum games to do the Bayonetta sequel? If so people have to understand that its never going to come to another console no matter how much begging you do if the company paid to have it on its console. companyoflosers they can whine and cry all they want, its not gonna happen. all this looks like to me is a bunch of entitled people throwing a tantrum. Aleksander I will buy it but not on the relise day,i have other games i gonna buy 🙂 InterTreble When I heard people complaining they won’t receive Bayonetta 2 on their beloved 400$-500$ new consoles I wonder if they know that GAMES are the only important thing in this world, not consoles. If you want Bayonetta 2, buy Wii U. They always say Wii U owner should buy another console because “Wii U has no games, only first party and family ones”. Well, Bayonetta is neither first party nor for families. What a fail, uh? Just buy what you like, stop treating consoles as they were football or basketball teams, and have fun. Javier How do you want me to buy Bayonetta 2 if I haven’t played the first one? come on, at least publish the first game on the eShop. uPadWatcher Two things– Contact both Nintendo and SEGA. Javier I won’t be telling them how to make me spend my money, they already have executives who already should know that. It’s simple, if they don’t offer good experiences I better invest my play time with PS4 or other systems. DC777 People will just bash this game since it’s on Wii U. There’s a couple of games I really liked that I had to weed through a bunch of negative articles on just to see for myself. Mass Effect 3 Special Edition was another one. Constantly blasted due to not having the first two on the system. Didn’t care. Great game. Thanks for making it ten dollars for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLYKXEJ8KQI&feature=youtube_gdata_player Maybe I’ll buy two Bayonetta 2 ‘s and never open one just because I can. Petri I was planning on buying 1 box and 1 download, and especially if theres an collectors edition. Fred This video is incredibly interesting. This guy is doing a real service for these students. Ashley, thanks for the link Carlos Webster I’m glad he mocked those idiot Xbox gamers who wanted this game on their crapsole. Fierce-Deity Link haven’t played the first one, but much like the w101 i will support the game.. besides, can’t go wrong with a game about some sexy chick who tears shite up 😉 Petri I was sold by quad wielding shotguns and pistols in heels. Petri Bayonetta 2 will be a great game. Even though I wouldn’t recommend anyone to watch Bloody Fate prior to this, it kinda tells the story of the first game. Just don’t think it did justice to the game. I hope they release the first one for Wii U. ETeach I’m really surprised this is even still a topic. I get people were pissed, but how hard is it to understand that this isn’t personal, it’s just that Nintendo decided to fund this dieing project and let it come to light. You’d think a real fan of the first game would just be happy there IS a sequel. I have to wonder if Nintendo fans would rage this hard if X was announced as a PS4 exclusive… J_Joestar probably considering that X is being developed by one of Nintendo’s 1st party studios, but that is a different situation compared to this one. ETeach Yeah, I was trying to think of a game that matched this situation, but it’s hard to do. X and Bayonetta are fairly similar in that they seem to both have cult followings with similar popularity, but X’s development status does make things tricky. Gamer78 I enjoyed the first game and I cant wait gor the second. I consider myself a Christian but I font think a game is evil. These are games, and should be enjoyed as entertainment and nothing more. However to each their own. Rinslowe “Bayonetta 2 would not exist without Nintendo white knighting that project.” This is but one strategy Nintendo needs to employ more of. And waiting to see what happens – if that is the case – is potentially not such a good plan. W101 was a great game, but needed to be better marketed to the masses to appeal to the “masses”. That aspect didn’t feel like it was executed well enough for the general consumer to get interested. And it ended up being supported mostly by a small no’ of open minded individuals. Bayo 2 is a different type of beast altogether and whether or not it succeeds commercially probably won’t tell Nintendo a lot in terms of funding exclusive projects being a smart investment. Absolutely they need more of this. And it would have been another ace in the franchise hole if they had snagged the Darksiders franchise. Between Zelda and X, that would have covered some pretty compelling RPG exclusivity. Still there are other’s out there waiting to be funded like that. And I thought the sequel to Eternal Darkness would have been another no brainer. Releasing that together with an HD remake of the original would have been perfect… Nintendo, tell the shareholders to take a long deep breath and get over themselves. Relax the coffers a little and start taking these kinds of risks on third party content. If you can’t bring third parties to your console for multiplats with parity, for whatever reasons real or imagined on their behalf or yours… Then fund more third party exclusives! Petri Nintendo is doing poor job at marketing. They just sit on their Wii and DS billions… If they used some of that money, they could lead the markets. I just want to know more about that shocker “like Bayonetta” that french dude was talking about. And pretty much everything you say. Zanzama Wii U gets exclusive 3rd party support: People complain about it being exclusive Wii U doesn’t get 3rd party support: People complain about the lack of 3rd party exclusives Strange, isn’t it? J_Joestar it is all really just finding excuses not to get a Wii U WiiUPS4 Well if fans want to play the game..Buy a Wii U..End of story iamserious The Bayonetta 2 stuff starts at around 1h07m. This guy really does a great job explaining things especially in defending Nintendo as a company all together near the end of the video. Lophs Judging the comments here, this game has no chance. We have a poster calling it “evil”, with a whole lot agreeing. I remember when Nintendo fans, actually had the perspective and maturity to enjoy and appreciate diverse game in diverse genres. They could enjoy games like Golden Eye( the game that invented the headshot), Conkers Bad Fur Day, and then Super Mario 64. Now we truly have kiddie console with an infantile audience who won’t buy anything over pg 13, and then turn around and complain when developers state the obvious that there is no market for non kiddie games on the Wii U. Petri Seeing as the people agreeing with him are our regular negative nancies and nay sayers, I’m not that worried. I hope it manages to top PS3 Bayonetta lifetime sales. Jon Neale This will sell about the same as w101 but I’m buying it and I’ve never played the first one. But I’m supporting platinuim like I did with w101. And the next project and the next project. Saul Rivera The part I love is when he says people complained about not having Bayonetta 2 on their PS’3 and XBox’s and having to buy another system “Wii U” just for a game but than when the PS4 and XB-One came out…they complained about not having Bayonetta 2 on there…so the issue is not buying another system…it’s the fact that it’s a Nintendo system.. Which is really what a lot of gamers think…and it bothers me =_= Q. Mulative People should already have The Wonderful 101 , also for the Wii U, also made by these people . It’s got a similar level of over-the-top action, but with a more family-friendly atmosphere, and could very well start a brand new franchise with how well it’s written.
