Yesterday during Nintendo’s Digital E3 Event, we learned that the original Bayonetta game will be bundled in the Bayonetta 2 retail package. We also learned that Bayonetta will be able to dress up as iconic Nintendo characters, but now that the Bayonetta 2 mini-site is open, we’ve learned a few more things about this new Wii U game. The game will be ported to Wii U at a full 60fps. The Wii U GamePad controller’s touchscreen and stylus will be able to be used in both Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 in order to control the action on screen. As well as supporting controls through the GamePad, the GamePad can also be used in Off-TV mode. Perhaps the biggest news is that the game will feature the Japanese language option, as well as English and Japanese audio tracks for those who prefer to hear the game in its original language instead of the dubbed English version. If you want to see more information about Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 for Wii U, be sure and check out the mini-site here. Bayonetta 2 is releasing in October. local_offer bayonetta 2 E3 2014 Nintendo wii u stars Further Reading Confirmed: Breath of the Wild is the last Wii Switch vs Wii U game case size comparison Miyamoto dismisses the Wii U as a “nece 6 reasons to grab a Nintendo Switch before March 6 reasons to skip the Nintendo Switch for now Nintendo Switch Amazon Pre-Order iamserious This is pretty sweet. I will be getting this game(s) for sure. Santiago I will likely not get this game, its not my style, but I’m very happy to see several things that are happening in this game: – Nintendo is letting others use intelectual property for the benefit of all – Players will get more than they asked for, for the same price (B1) – Options to customize experience such as language (many games in mexico are translated and the original language is not an option. this sometimes dissapoints) C4 IMHO there are 3 character action game must-haves, God of War 3 (simple battle system but spectacular set pieces), The Wonderful 101 (awesome all around except 1 or 2 chapters), Bayonetta (& Bayo 2?? we will see!) and maybe the first Devil may Cry (not the new DMC game) 🙂 Santiago I still have 101 to play! Ernie Sanguyo Ash what time is the Treehouse today or are you guys going to have link here? DoctorFart 9:15 Ernie Sanguyo thx doc MerryBlind . Wait… English and Japanese audio tracks? Do the 2 versions have completely different soundtracks? (kind of like Sonic CD) or are they the same songs, but with lyrics, when there are any, in either English or Japanese? Zuxs13 I was really hoping they would do this and its awesome they are releasing both at once in the same package. Very awesome choice. Diaz Kinda sucks that I bought the 360 version of the game. Zuxs13 Well you get it free with bayonetta 2 so you can take advantage of the few upgrades they put into the original. 🙂 D.M.T I’m soooooo happy that Nintendo and Platinum Games is giving us Bayonetta 1. Now I will be able to understand Bayonetta 2’s story because I can play the original Bayonetta game first. Nintendo’s E3 presentation was the best in my opinion. The only thing that bothers me is that their presentations are always so short. I mean 47 minutes? Really? MerryBlind . Yeah they could have at least rounded that up to 1 hour XD C4 Bingo. C4 Nah Sony’s was too long IMHO. ~1 hour is okay. So yeah a bit too short, especially X and Zelda only short trailer, while they had more of X too show gameplay later. Edit: * XCX 😛 D.M.T Sony’s was too long because it was boring as fuck but Nintendo’s presentation was entertaining so at least 1 hour and not 47 minutes. jjbredesen An extras 13min of Zelda would not hurt xD C4 Yep. The only 1st party games shown were The Order, Uncharted and the Infamous Standalone DLC. Way too much time for Ubicrap and Craptivision stuff. And Powers? I never heard of that before… Bob Wilkerson Very Happy Nintendo listened to the fans and is giving away Bayonetta 1 for FREE on disc with this game. I will certainly pre-order/buy this game at launch now MerryBlind . Yeah that really shows they actually DO listen to their fans! Bob Charlie I’d thank Hideki Kamiya and P* for this more than I would Nintendo. He pushed for a Wonderful 101 direct, and we got it. He pushed for a Wonderful 101 demo, and we got it. MerryBlind . Well he seems like an awesome guy then! I figure it’s him who said like a year ago that he would his team could be able to port Bayo 1 to Wii U but it was up to Nintendo/SEGA to agree on this? Bob Charlie Yep, exactly! Bayo 1 being bundled with Bayo 2 smells like a P* idea more than it does a Nintendo idea. Wonderful 101 price: $29.99 NSMB U price: $59.99 MerryBlind . Well… to be fair I’m pretty sure the two prices you’re comparing are this way because of demand. I’m sure NSMBU sold and still sell much more than W101, so it’s expected that W101 has seen its price lowered to entice more consumers to buy it… Bob Charlie I don’t think demand for NSMBU can be too high. Why would anybody purchase one of the worst Mario games for the same price as SM3DW? DKCTF is even cheaper than NSMBU, which is odd. MerryBlind . Well first of, it’s a great 2D Mario game, not sure where you got that from. It’s only fault is being too similar to the one on Wii, but I haven’t played that one, so I had a blast with NSMBU as my 1st Wii U game. Secondly, it’s a 2D Mario game, so a lot of parents, kids, or anyone who don’t follow video games too much, or are just casual gamers, will look at Wii U games on the shelves, and say “Oh nice a 2D Mario game, those are simple and fun, and multiplayer at that, I’ll take it!”. Whereas a game like Wonderful 101, while it might interest kids because of the Superhero boxart, is just an obscure franchise, so nobody knows what it is, and most simply won’t take the chance to buy a game they don’t know about instead of buying well-known franchise like Mario or DK. Bob Charlie I got the “it’s a bad Mario game” from my 30 odd years of gaming experience; just an opinion. The game was just WAY too easy for me, plus it was less innovative than any of the classic 2D platforming Mario games that came before it. MerryBlind . Well sure it was no Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World, but I still had fun with it. Though I agree it wasn’t innovative at all. Also, New Super Luigi U is a bit more challenging, with faster-paced levels, and funkier level design. you should check it out if you haven’t already, unless you absolutely hated NSMBU. And like I said, I perfectly understand you didn’t like it if you played the DS one and/or the Wii one and/or the 3DS one before it. I only played the first DS one myself, YEARS ago, so it was very fun and actually refreshing. Playing with a buddy or two is awesome too, though 3 or 4 players is really chaotic and confusing, and actually QUITE hard. Oh and I was pleasantly surprised at how fun the GamePad functionalities were when someone not really good at the game actually preferred to play that support role. Yousif Alromaithi I just pre ordered the game. Also I added Smash Bros Wii U on my cart at amazon. I am still considering getting Hyrule Warriors this year. I am really pumped for Bayonetta 2. palomino blue Never played the first one. Definitely planned on buying the new one so this is a great bonus. bistricky This is the game I was most excited about getting when I bought my Wii U. last November. Everything about it, at E3, sounds like it is definitely going to be worth it. And it is great to hear that Nintendo was listening to the fans of Bayonetta and including both 1 + 2 (THAT IS AWESOME) …. best yet, both games at 60fps …. cool. 😀 C4 Nice. Any info on the multiplayer? Is it like TW101 with a separate coop mode? uPadWatcher According to Bayonetta 2’s site, there will be a 2-player co-op game (local and online). Petri Didn’t see local anywhere, thought it was just online. C4 That would be disappointing… uPadWatcher Nintendo and PlatinumGames are truly the BEST of both worlds when it comes to Bayonetta 2 Collection (1 + 2) only for the Wii U. This year’s October is a perfect fit for the Halloween season. Ducked Will Bayonetta 2 run in 1080p or 720p? Or has that not been announced yet? MerryBlind . Nevermind? So you know? Which is it? 720p or 1080p? I know a lot of people are saying they read 1080p somewhere, but is that true? Ducked Nintendo or Platinum games hasn’t announced it yet . I’m thinking since Bayonetta 1 is packed in that Bayonetta 2 will have to run in 720p MerryBlind . That doesn’t change anything, there is plenty of room for both games at 1080p on a single Wii U disc. Bob Wilkerson Most likely 720P upscaled bistricky What is it …. I would like to know also ….. 😀 Ducked Hasn’t been confirmed yet. Since Bayonetta 1 is packed in I’d expect 720p Rich Garriques definitely buying bayonetta 2 now for sure. WhataShame By contrast, the 360 and PS3 versions ran at 52 fps (dropping to the mid 30s at times), and around 30 (with dips into the 20s) respectively at 720p. And that was with some texture issues as well. I look forward to hearing more, and playing this again on the Wii U. TULFich Man !!! and I was about to buy the original one for my 360, I´m really glad I didn´t 😀 Diaz But will the soundtrack be as good as the last one? uPadWatcher Affirmative. SpareChnge this game looks so fun SpareChnge Platinum Star is a great company. Would anyone else like to see a MadWorld 2? woobiesftw I’m afraid this writer is misinformed. The original language of Bayonetta is English, not Japanese. The first Bayonetta game had no Japanese audio track, only English, to which the animation is synced to. Similarly, this sequel has animated Bayonetta and other characters to the English audio track, which the fantastic cast have returned to voice. This is the first time a Japanese dub is recorded for Bayonetta. It is yet unknown if they have re-animated the face meshes to fit the Japanese dub, but the possibility of that happening is certainly very small. Bayonetta was always created as a character who speaks English with an RP English accent. And Hellena Taylor did an amazing job bringing her to life.
