A new launch trailer for Batman Arkham Origins has been revealed, this time showcasing the Black Mask and his stranglehold on the criminal underworld of Gotham City. The trailer also showcases some of the new fighting moves incorporated into the game, as well as a quick tussle with Deathstroke.

There’s only two days left until launch and you still have a chance to pre-order the game at Amazon for $49.99 with $10 Amazon credit, bringing the total cost for the Wii U version of the game down to just $39.99.

Will you be picking it up?

I love love LOVED Arkham City on PS3…. then I traded it in toward something else like a year ago…. so a couple of weeks ago I picked up the Wii U version of the game for $14 on sale…. I forgot how awesome it was. so yes, I will definitely be picking this one up….

    • Makakilo_Man

I didn’t own any consoles from last gen, so the I played Arkham City for the first time on Wii U. I got it for about $30. It was such a great buy. I’m stoked for Arkham Origins. Can’t wait!

    • Saikyo

think ill wait for $14 on this, looks great, just can’t bring myself to pay full price

  • Miguel Angel Barrueta HernĂ¡nde

    i dunno, maybe later

  • Nintedward

I’m sceptical about this game. Saw a gameplay video and it It didn’t look too good….

    • Merrfn

I thought it looked fantastic, but thats just my opinion.

    • The Clockwork Being

Well did you ever try Arkham City Armored Edition for Wii U. Fans that have bought the game say it was amazing.

  • devmiles

i do like the armored edition for the wii-u so i’m curious what they will say on this one. too bad nintendo has no trophies or achievements like sony or microsoft since the game will be full of secrets and collectibles

    • SleepySkullhead

Agreed. Nintendo needs some kind of achievement system. It would add plenty of play time for people who like to get them.

    • Petri

Think those are still there, only missing the false sense of accomplishment.

    • abe

I think miiverse will run with these

  • Tony Vo

After playing through Arkham City (50 hours of gameplay) I was so sick of these kinds of games. But as soon as I saw the trailer for Origins and Deathstroke appeared I lost all sense and pre-ordered ._.

  • Nathan Ostroski

    Preordered as if July 1st…

  • Jared Garcia

Welcome to the darker, slightly less charismatic Batman. After all, bat-mints, bat-condoms, and bat-memorabilia haven’t been added yet to the utility belt.

  • Daniel Gonzalez

Already getting this game. Not like I can turn down good Batman games such as this.

    • Merrfn

      Not many people can.

I just recently picked up Arkham City Armored Edition for the Wii U. Partially because it was $30, but mainly because I wanted to see how it was with the Wii U GamePad. I’ve already beaten the game on the 360 and played about 3/4 of the way through on the PS3 (yes I’m a HUGE fan of the Batman Arkham series).

Color me impressed by the Wii U version. It took some major getting used to but I love having the map right there at all times, the suit/weapon upgrades, weapon equip screen, all on the pad rather than the TV. I love how Batman’s new suit has the screen on his arm which is supposed to be the GamePad – it really does immerse you more IMO.

So has anyone heard if the Wii U version of Arkham Origins will be the visually superior version compared to the 360/PS3? You’d think with 4 x the RAM the Wii U version would perform best. I saw a 17-minute gameplay demo on IGN of the PS3 version and the framerate really took a beating. I’m perfectly fine with paying $10 less for no multiplayer as I don’t think this game needs to have it in the first place. Like I said I also really like the GamePad integration so I’m leaning towards the Wii U version.

    • BIG Franky

glad you brought this up….as I also played through and beat Arkham City on PS3 like a year or so ago and hadn’t played it since then (loved it)… so I did the same thing with buying it cheap on Wii U….. and I have to say that I totally agree with respect to the gamepad! you can tell they put work into the port as they really integrated it very well! it really feels like it is one of Batman’s gadgets and it adds to the detective-like feel of the game. I am loving it….. (and yes, I too love how they worked the gamepad into his wrist gauntlet… it works well and yes it is totally immersive)…
all of that being said, since rocksteady didn’t develop this game, I am not sure if the same features will come over on Origins…. I certainly hope they do, as I think they definitely add to the overall experience in a positive way, but it wouldn’t shock me if this were merely a port of the other versions less the online multiplayer. still, when I purchase this game, I will get it on Wii U simply to support the platform’s 3rd parties…. I agree that a game like this isn’t purchased for multiplayer so I could care less about not having that.

      • abe

The new devs are the armoured edition Devs. The new detective mode was born from gamepad experiments.

Can you turn off the armour in City? I don’t like its design

        • BIG Franky

are you referring to the Battle Armored Tech mode? yeah, you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to….I basically ignore it.. it definitely makes some battles easier. but the gamepad’s augmented reality exploration of the crime scenes is where this version really shines.

          • abe

Meant his armour suit, I really dislike the design

  • Makakilo_Man

    Is that Cobblepot 0:59?

  • bizzy gie

The origin story is very strong and present throughout the game. At least in the 17 minutes of gameplay I saw.

  • abe

Me and a few friends are not buying this on x360 like the last 2 in the hopes it triggers them to port the mp

Oh UK gamers shop to has bonus DLC for Wii u version

  • Makakilo_Man

So the reviews are showing that the multi-player on Arkham Origins is terrible. SOOO glad I got the Wii U version that was $10 cheaper, and with a $10 amazon gift card. Wii U FTW!
