AVGN Adventures is coming to Wii U and 3DS

Yesterday developer FreakZone Games announced at the SGC that Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures will coming to Wii U “very soon” and 3DS soon afterwards. Influenced by retro games such as Mega Man and Castlevania, the game stars none other that YouTube’s own Angry Video Game Nerd as he has been sucked into one of the bad games he was trying to review.

The game is a  fast paced 2D action tribute to the brutally hard games of yore, and is thus, very difficult; or as the developer puts it “rewarding.” There are several playable characters and secrets to discover within the game. If you’re a fan of old school video games, you’ll enjoy this game.

No specific release date has been announced as of yet, although the game has already been released on Steam.

Do these sort of retro games interest you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!

Already have it on Steam. Anyone who likes the AVGN web series, will certainly love this. It’s quite a difficult game, but who doesn’t like 8-bit difficulty? It’s worth the price, or you can simply wait for a sale, if you feel it’s too steep.

    • As the Nerd. Itself says, its like one of the hardest games ever… Buy the controla are great, so as the jokes that only fans could get

Who doesn’t like the 8-bit difficulty?People who play angrybirds or kinnect sports instead. xD

        Lol. Fair call.

‘Love this game more than a couple of MARIO games. And that’s saying something!

  • Magnus Eriksson

Hell yeah! He is my favourite reviewer of Nintendo games. One of them honest enough to say all is shit. 🙂

    • TheRealTruthTeller

well, all the games he reviews are shit, with the obvious exclusions, but yeah, hes the one and only true game reviewer

    • triplegamer3K .

He is a bit biased, though.I honestly don’t take him seriously as a reviewer.

    • Funny thing, most of his reviews are from third party developers… He loves nintendo games

  • Epicstuf

It’s going to be rated M. I KNOW it.

    • Shaise

      Because of the swears.

      • Epicstuf

Not just because of the swears. The sexual themes and Mature Humor.

While the game is designed as a love letter to classic platformers, it can easily stand on a pillar just as high with the greats.

I’ve been playing it lately, and it’s very fun and challenging. It can get frustrating, but that’s what makes the progression feel even sweeter when finishing a stage.

  • BarbieOnWeed

Release this one for the whole world at the same time, don´t fuck us in Europe.
I’m looking at you, Shovel Knight!

  • It’s very nice news. I will looking forward to come in flash version so can we all play it in http://Owlgames24.com/

  • TheBoldman67

I’ve been waiting for this! Can’t wait to download it!

  • Sdudyoy

He makes good reviews, but I’m not a fan of 8-bit platformers, and if it’s anything like his show, it’s going to be a bit crude.

  • Prizm

The last levels are very difficult (haven’t finished it), but it’s actually quite fun. It does have a great soundtrack, so that helps. Have to admit I prefer this soundtrack to Shovel Knight.

I’m looking forward to this one

Crazy how a normal random guy became popular because on the internet. Anyone can be famous these days. Or at least for 15 minutes.

    • Magnus Eriksson

Lol, its always been that way. All who become famous wasnt famous before. Its actually harder to become famous today as there are more information to compete over. The illusion that its easier is there though…
