Amiiqo on Wii U! by contact734

While amiibo support for games releasing this year on the Nintendo Wii U has been off the charts, that doesn’t mean there’s not a flaw with how the toys work. Currently the only games to write amiibo data to the actual figure is Super Smash Bros. and Mario Party 10. If you want to use one of your figures with the other game, you’ll need to reset the amiibo.

This new device is called the Amiiqo and it serves as a sort of bank for all of your important amiibo data, with room for up to 200 amiibo entries. The catch is that you’ll be storing the data on your NFC-compatible Android phone. Currently it does not work with iPhone, non-NFC enabled phones, or the PC.

Downloading the app from the site lets you manage your amiibo data collection, so you can see which amiibo you have stored. According to a few recent reviews of the device that have popped up, the Amiiqo itself comes preloaded with 10 amiibo. We’re not sure how long this thing will last under the scrutiny of Nintendo’s lawyers, but be sure to check out the video above to see the little device in action.

If you decide you want to use it to store all of your important Smash data for your amiibos, the device itself will set you back about $75. Ouch.
